That guy you mentioned was me. I’m actually in the gamme 8 right now in -12C temps. I definitely was more careful when setting it up this time (haven’t shortened the poles yet) but it really is difficult alone. The tension these poles are under actually scares me. If one broke right by your head you would likely be knocked unconscious. I’m going to cut mine down by an inch to start with - see how that works. By my math, that’s only 1/2 a percent of the entire pole but when I’m trying to get them in the cups it’s always that last inch that’s so tough. Thanks for the update. I’ll stay in touch with my findings. Loving the tent otherwise.

@@davehedge5044 hi, I I'll be publishing a video soon of me putting the tent up. I found that putting the main black pole into its cup once the tent is up with the 2 temporary pegs is still a little difficult, and it's 2 inches shorter. Let me know what 1 inch off does. Doing the math 2 inches is 0.79% shorter 😁 Happy camping.

The trick I’ve found is to not pull the 2nd peg really tight. It just needs to be tight enough to just hold that black pole up. What you’ll find is as you try to push that black pole into the cup, the pegs will want to move closer together so I just make sure they aren’t tight in the first place. Try that and see how it goes.
