Hi Karstan, Still having those starter problems, fit a relay near the starter that takes power from the main battery feed, and use the starter exciter wire to operate the relay to feed the solenoid should solve your problem. Also double check your earth strap on the front of the gearbox to the earth on the chassis. Cheers from the Red Centre of Aus

Good advice Steve. With good wiring to the ignition, you don't need this relay. I wired a doorbell to my starter, and this is what I've gone with for two years. All I need is the ding dong ! 😛

Hey Steve .. yep I ended up doing that not long after this video .. 4 pin relay and bypasses the solenoid .. 2nd one iv done on the trip .. last one burnt out .. great fun haha

Having a separate switch means you can also start the engine when you are looking at it 🤓 Handy for those visual cues. I have my doorbell on a long lead tucked under the floor mat.

Went through there a couple of years back. Had to spend a week in Booraloola waiting for a belt to fix my VW. Daly Waters was a great stop👍camping there was a bit of a squeeze though

With so many "travel" channels with vehicles that are kitted out with over 100k of all the latest gadgets doing the same old same old it gets overdone, especially if we have to endure those drone shots overlaid with indi music. Ive watched them all and discovered this channel and I can say it is without a doubt hands down the BEST, its fresh, moves along, interesting, has elements of real adventure and just well put together. I am off to Nhulunbuy in 7 days time. Dragging my brother along using his 4wd as all the ‘good info’ was to NOT TAKE MY VW VAN. Mine is a T5, 2004 diesel. Watching you guys I am so tempted to bolt down the local tyre shop get the steel wheels and off road tyres and just send it. More inspired as I am a Novocastrian as well.

Not a fan of 3 ways, bloody expensive for fuel, drinks and food. BP in Tenet Creek was my preferred. Lol, the one that got away is always massive. Bit bad luck. Travellin in a Kombi is great, just need ac. Liked Daly Waters in the cooler months, no ac in the hotter months takes the fun out of it. There is plenty of things to see and always have entertainment.
