ROEBUCK BAY - A Day To Remember - Dirt roads, fishing, cooking & hanging with locals!

We couldn't of envisaged a better day if we tried. Fathers Day started with a bang and wrapped up in the most incredible way. The only plan we had was that we were going to head towards Crab Creek and the rest was completely up in the air (very typical for us).
This day was filled with some very random and funny moments. We met up with our mates ‪@MaxandOccy‬ and we were lucky enough to hang out with a bunch of legendary locals who invited us to join in on their Father's Day Celebrations. We learn't a lot about living off the land and just had an all round good time!!
Really looking forward to you watching this one as it shows not only what life on the road is like but also how bloody amazing Australia.

Hi you guys love the adventure the Net is a good one I worked LNG Karratha 89 sailed out to Abrolhos island we slept on the beach and dragged the net straight out the difference was water crystal clear you waited on shore and when floats bobbed up and down with mask swam out and picked what fish you wanted then straight in fry pan ice cold beer three days of perfection!!!! Jealous Melbourne stay free.

Remember camping at Mt Crawford Forrest years ago with my mates we drinkin beer then a hundred vans cruised past us that day they set up in a spot 400meters from us that night was dush dush music all night we went 4 a look too our surprise 4 DJs were set up its all going off and tables with shit loads off cakes were every where everyone was dancing and holding water bottles no one had alcohol when they saw us they said ooo you are the alcohol people next door 😀 yep it was a secret rave party and they were all high as kites on some kind off acid trip , even the park ranger pop in and couldn't believe it but cause they didn't cause any harm he just went back home to bed and next morning they all were gone we slept in with hang overs we didn't even hear them go 😀

We have no regrets! We love our Kombi and the fact that it is always fixable - it’s a constant adventure.

@Joe Mulgrew, it is a traditional food source for our indigenous people, it's ok for them to kill to eat. Some years back, I used to work on a ship up in the Gulf of Carpentaria at Karumba, nearly every"sail out" from port, particularly lower tides in the Normanby river, we'd "prop-chop" a peacefully grazing Sea Cow, (Dugong) in half. A terrible loss to the numbers there, but I don't recall anything being done to try and prevent the "hits", throughout my time.

I know, I thought the same thing. I know it's a cultural thing, but the fact they are SO endangered and there are thousands of other species of fish, crab, muscles etc, I just feel it's really wrong imo. I would understand if there's nothing else to eat, but food is so plentiful nowadays it's hard to see such peaceful, beautiful animals actively being killed and heading towards extinction when it isn't necessary. I know I'll probably be ripped into for this, but that's just my opinion. I hate seeing the same thing happen to sea turtles too. I just hate us having to sit back and accept endangered animals being driven further towards extinction, when other endangered animals are so protected and researched and cared for to avoid further losses (example, the protecting of whales from the Japanese whalers), I hate just sitting back accepting these ones don't get that same advocacy and protection because they used to be hunted (to survive, not like now) by the indigenous people long before white people came and before food was so easy to get and so plentiful.
