Fun fact: one reason Bagels have that hole in them because Jewish immigrants in America used to stack bagels up on sticks or ropes to display and sell them. However, people argue that bagels had holes long before this technique was widely known. Buttered toast is instant S-tier. It's just one of the best foods known to man - I've literally eaten tens of thousands of slice of toast in my life and still enjoy every bite like it's the first. It's perfect. Add on that you can serve half these other items with toast to improve them further (eggs, bacon, sausages etc), and that toast itself can be easily upgraded with honey, jam or whatever if you feel like a change, and it's no contest. @@maxsimmonds1322 It is a common breakfast in most of Central Europe, not something I came up with. Reading my own comment again, maybe I should clarify: You don't put the egg on the toast. You eat the egg with a spoon and those little cups to hold the egg in are a part of every household in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and I think also in the Netherlands, Denmark and Scandinavia. Many people even have a special contraption to crack the egg open with in a neat and convenient manner. The point being that this is not some weird, fringe thing. That is basic and common breakfast culture in that part of the world.
