@Cry I dunno, analysing losses feels way more fun to me. Like the 'OH now I see, aha, next time that won't get me' feeling is way more satisfying than 'go me, easy game whatta move' etc on the wins. Winning more is unimportant I guess. Learning how to flip a loss is really satisfying.

@AdamGaffney962 жыл бұрын
That first game was very interesting, as even losing the rook for the knight it wasn't that bad, I've definitely drawn and won endgames in positions like that. Rooks are better than bishops sure, but in an endgame where blacks structure is messed up like that you had plenty of chances. I think you probably should've gone e6 at a couple of moments without a doubt, even if it felt like the pawn was at risk you could've collapsed their entire queenside. Fun game to watch! EDIT: That second game was upsetting from blacks perspective. I feel like a 1450 should be able to find h4 in that endgame with over half a minute on the clock, in the endgame you need to look past losing pawns and realise that with a 3v1 on the kingside you can easily get an uncatchable pawn. I think NL played fantastically to be able to psyche them out without a doubt, but I really am shocked that black couldn't find the win there.

I don't get why he likes putting pawns on the same color square as his bishop, don't you usually prefer the opposite pawns to give your bishop more mobility? Maybe that rule of thumb flips when you've got some advanced pawns in the endgame, idk?
@JohnDoe-th9rj2 жыл бұрын
In endgames the rule flips because you want to be able to defend your pawns. If they get stuck on the opposite color square your bishop will never be able to cover them and they will be much weaker

See but like, in Hunt, “better” doesn’t even really mean better at the game. MMR is based on kills, not successful hunts, so the better you are at the game, the more people you encounter in games who just sit in bushes and have a 5.7 KD but haven’t killed a monster in 300 hours. The MMR system just isn’t good.

@ethanstump2 жыл бұрын
Conscientiousness matters a lot when it comes to having a high skill level. While being intelligent is needed for the higher skill tiers, if you give up because your bored, it doesn't matter if you could have been great. TLDR Nl simply doesn't care enough to git gud, which is a flaw.
