I know barely anything about this game, but congrats on playing so amazingly for these runs NL. It's been a pleasure to watch this week of competition, and it makes me wanna buy Spelunky and play it. I hear the game is tough, but you made it look pretty easy. I can't even point out misplays because I have no idea what they would look like. I mean, obviously the dumb damage in Heck, but anything else I wouldn't have known about.

Takes many hours before you get to and beat olmec let alone yama. It is still worth it for just a couple bucks you get potentially dozens of hours of playtime.

What do folks think of this series? Hyped for Spelunky 2? Me personally, really enjoyed a bit of pride on the line and some of NL's plays have been godly. Not really vaulting or ghosting certainly cost our eggboy some pointarinos, but all in all good consistent scores. I encourage people to watch Malf's and Dan's perspectives and let's spread the love.

been hyped for spelunky 2 since it's announce which feels like just yesterday but was actually like 2 years? NL actually playing spelunky recently has amped that a lot though. Hope it'll be good, and that NL will play it a fair bit. y'know Malf's perspectives seem a bit... long.... but watching the dan ones sounds like a good idea, think I might after this ep.

Fun fact North, you can get a little more bomb range in corners by placing down a bomb, picking it up and then putting it back down closer in the corner. You get a little more efficient bomb use that way.

They're more dangerous and the payoff is typically not worth it other than the city of gold. Mothership generates an additional ice cave level but there are a lot of ways you can die without a way to react.

Plus, a lot of them have the risk of blocking you off from getting the items necessary to access hell (If I remember correctly).

It is pretty poor design though that you can't afford to go to all of the secret floors when you want to get the "true" end of the game. The worm is one of the most interesting areas in the game, but nobody really goes to it anymore because everyone wants to beat Yama.

@@kylerivera3470 I dont think its necessarily bad design, it just forces the player to make a choice on what they want to do that play through. Obviously high score runs like they're going for in here will prioritize beating hell but during casual runs you have options on what path to take.
