I have a little 12 VDC diesel heater for my workshop. I think that Zach has one in is garage. I love mine. I can turn it on and it will heat up the space to shirt sleeve level so I can do what I want. I hope you enjoy yours!

It is not gone Chris but I did winterize it and move it to the back pasture. They are still planning on getting it but I could not risk it freezing up and needed it moved so it was easier to do stuff around the boiler. I am glad you are out of ER. I hope you are doing better.

That lump charcoal is also gold for the garden. It's called Biochar. However it should be marinated in compost before adding to garden.

Seems like a lot of work to operate, but I am sure it gets intuitive once learned. Nice system Joe! And you live in wood plentiful country and a country setting to allow semi drops of wood. Totally jealous, good way to go! Good luck deer season at the tent! I burn wood almost exclusively in doors type wood stoves in both places. On the prairie and northern Mn.

If I would have said nothing except that I "bought" (whatever product) and did a video, it would have been exactly the content type that I have always done. This channel has always been what is happening at "this" time in our lives. No one said a word when we bought all the windows for the Louisiana house or the sheetrock or when we bought the wood boiler or the table saw in the workshop or when we bought the farmhouse for that matter. The problem you are having is that I got it for free. They helped us out and we helped them out. People need to look inside themselves for a minute and really think about it.

Joe, you answers to the savings you realize between using oil heat versus the wood boiler were interesting and I realize you can’t do a side by side comparison because of the differences in how much more footage the boiler heats than the furnace. But have you ever tried to calculate the payback (amortization) period on the boiler installation? Living in the SE US I have absolutely no idea of the boiler cost/installation but suspect it was very expensive. Have watched all your vids on the boiler since the birth of your idea to present and do not remember you ever discussing a payback time. Enjoy your videos, but get tired just watching.😊

im in nc and have propane, my boiler was 7k and it paid for itself in 3 years. i have had it since 2005 and love it. im heating 4500 sq ft and i use about 8 cords a year give or take. boilers are not for everyone but if you have propane or oil, wood is way cheaper . now if you have natural gas it would be a waste unless you just like to burn wood

That woodshed will save you a bunch of work in the winter , it was alot of work cutting up and hauling to the shed but it was nice weather 😊 ... Congrats on your 2nd plack, im sure it is beautiful

Joe I think you have done a great job in what time you all have been there be careful about pure wood ash on your garden it brings the ph factor to the top of your soil It makes your soil loose I have dumped wood ash on mine and last year my garden didn't do to good and I had it tested and that what came out of me putting pure ashes on my garden just passing it on love your videos

I see you loading rounds into the furnace. I know it saves time from splitting, but furnace is burning these rounds optimally? Did the manufacturer provide any guidance for fuel size? Update - listened to the end . The Crown Royal 7400MP model can burn anything coal, rounds and wet wood etc.

If you watched the video (one of them, Lol) I explained that I had to cut some of the logs smaller because they would not fit in my log splitter. The little rounds were the resulting "extra" chunks. I decided to just burn them first.
