Mid-80s every day here in St Augustine, north Florida; thunder showers in the evenings and steady sea breezes. Very pleasant. We have gentle summers and winters. Trouble is everybody wants to move here and the traffic is getting unbelievable. Visited Minn once and was devoured by deer flies etc in the millions while hiking in the North Woods. Never again. Crazy climate now esp out west. Leave a fan blowing over the outside of that refridgerator for the first 24 hours, makes all the diff. Love your vlogs and followed ur family story for years fr the first tent days. I'm 90 now so wont be around for too much longer, so all the best and thanks for all u do..

If you are going to hike in the woods here, the deer flies (if you are in an area that has them) are bad from mid June through the end of August. Then they are gone. It sounds like you were here in the bad time. Your climate down there seems really nice. Thank y=you for watching the videos. I will keep posting them.

Happy birthday Melissa. You could try anything to make a makeshift roof cover for your camper, maybe a couple 2 by 4s in the ground at each end and run a couple horizontal braces on top. You could nail brown tarp with the silver side out over the top of your camper. Reflect the sun anyway.

Awesome video joe!! I went up to Michigan a couple weeks ago & was there for a week then went up and around the northern peninsula and back down threw Wisconsin the hole week after and yes it was definitely a very hot one out!! Was bring back a horse and she was pregnant but wasn’t due until the 12th!! Well she had it early on are way back home!! It is during really good though!! It was a male colt with 4 white socks!! I’m definitely not a horse person but having a new one while on a road trip definitely isn’t something you really want to run into and also with the temps around 100 degrees out!! But we was definitely thankful that everything went well!! Awesome video buddy keep up all the good and hard work!!

We live in our camper and that bubble wrap aluminum type insulation does great in the blaring heat side of camper!! Does awesome for winter also!! Cut to fit, stays in place! It's to bad they can't place you closer to a shady area!! Great videos!!

Joe...put the reflectix in all the cabinets as well....it made a HUGE difference in our RV. Just cut it about an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch bigger than the cabinet walls/sides and it will stay in place. Well worth the extra effort if you haven't done it or it hasnt been recommended already. :)

Joe, be cautious with the reflective bubble wrap. It’s used widely here in the north in winter to keep heat in for RV’s. Another KZbin site called the manufacturer of a popular brand and they did not recommend for summer. Simple reason is the heat intensifying on the window panes. If you had double panes I certainly would be more worried as one pane would certainly snap to relieve the pressure. Might be OK on single panes.

If you have an awning on the camper and no threat of wind storms, roll it out and it will shade the camper wall which helps a lot

I would but even though to date I have owned 8 travel trailers I have yet to figure out how to do the awning every time and not look stupid doing it. Lol. That and the fact that the hot sunny side of the camper (afternoon sun) is on the other side of the camper. Cool morning sun is on the awning side.

Hook up some solar panels to battery to run camper when off site so refrigerator can still run and don’t have to wait for it to get cold…all you need is a small one to keep battery powered up on roof…

The fridge seems to only work on electric. I have not been able to get it to fire up on just the propane yet. I did buy a new battery this week so maybe that will help. I will figure it out eventually.

They have 2 of them. They have little kitchens and they have air conditioning. At the end of the season I will do a video on the campground. I do this so I do not have people coming and driving through to see where I am staying.

somedays its good to take a dip in the river..especially before bed.. but at the same time do small cleanup of the ac unit in the camper.. check the foam filters and its coolent gas....back in the old country we had a Phoenix (brand from the early 70's) window AC 2.0 Ton and it ran up to the late 1990's and a max of 2 time we filled it cooling gas. someday's we use to wet the foam filter and slam it between the ac front ribbing and put the cover on.. especially on hot summer nights.. which kept the room ok cool. we also tried to sleep on the floor (you can check) if its cooler on the floor then ding ding.. camper floor it is. 6/17/2021 It's 7:23 in the morning here in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's 91 degrees, high to day is supposed to be 111degrees 112 tomorrow. But it's dry heat, very little humidity. Tuesday and Wednesday supposed to cool down to 99 for the high then back up to 105 and more. Love to watch your video's, always something new and always interesting, so thank you. Had a friend in my home state of Montana, we would go out to eat and he was a big eater like you appear to be, his favorite expression about the amount of food he could eat was, "Hell. anybody can eat two chickens". I would always say, "Yeah that's true but not all at once like you do".

I have been to Vegas many times from back in my married days. Even took the kids there once. It was always nice (not the time the kids were with) to be out on the strip at night when it was still real warm out. Especially when it was winter in Minnesota. It was so fun to sit on the steps of the Paris at 2 in the morning watching the people. In the back of the Paris Casino there was at that time a little bar and they made the best vodka gimlets. Like you said, it is a dry heat. I was there once when it rained real hard for a little while and I was amazed at how the water was like a river running down the street behind the Flamingo. Dry or not, I was there once when it was 111 degrees and dry or not it was miserably HOT. Lol.

Hey @northernseclusion Joe, I remember from your previous camper video you were having trouble running your fridge on propane - I don't know if you got it sorted out but those propane fridges have to be absolutely level to operate. You might want to try it while you have it on the pad and see if it works

Reflectix is amazing stuff. I’ve used it in my portable fish house for some insulation too! Keeps heat in as much as it keeps heat out

If possible maybe you would want to have the short end of the trailer facing south or south west. I have aluminum blinds in the house. I am happy with them. But it doesn't get very hot there, usually. And at the cabin I have trees all around it, and that keeps us cool here.

It looks like you are experiencing the type of weather we experience in August here in the South or at least in NC. When it gets over 90 showers do over a brief reprieve from the heat. But then it just ramps up the humidity afterwards. We sure have had some extreme weather this year.

Home Depot sells rolls of reflectix (or pipe wrapping insulation). Cut to fit the windows & it keeps out a ton of heat. I also block the overhead vents. In Georgia we usually have summer temperatures exceeding 100 andthis works in my travel trailer. However it does make it dark, but that's what lights are for. Have you tried the fridge on propane??
