Longwood Gardens is a real treat to visit. The gardens are spectacular and very inspirational! I love how they use different plants together you wouldn't think of...and it's so visually pleasing. Those large platter lilies...when I first visited LG, I saw them and couldn't believe they were real. They are amazing..like from another world. Thank you for the tour.

I loved that- thank you so much. I've never seen the late summer garden and I'm in VA. My parents dragged me there as a teenager, and now as an adult gardener I was up there 2 years ago nearby for my son's soccer tourny and thought I'm only an hour away. I drove there for a present to myself in early December and spent 5 hours just walking around and got to enjoy the Christmas lights too. Beautiful combinations - I feel like I'm there. Thank you.

I love Longwood Gardens, Nemoors and Chanticleer. I remember my parents taking us to Longwood Gardens when we were younger and I didn’t appreciate it, however they did plant the seed and I’ve been an avid gardener ever since it got married in ‘69. I haven’t been there in years but after seeing your video I’ve got the bug to go back. Thanks for sharing, always love your videos

Thank you for such a beautiful tour ! I too always wonder how many person hours goes into planning, planting and managing these gardens! I have to agree that the section where all the different water lilies were located was absolutely heavenly. I can so see myself sitting there and just meditating. Just this year I joined my local botanical garden. I am hoping it won’t be too long before this pandemic subsides so I can visit other gardens across the country and across the border! Stay safe ! 🇨🇦

I think that the thing you ID’d as taller ageratum may be Eupatorium coelestinum, which I know I spelled wrong, sorry. I grew it in my last home. It is a perennial that can easily self seed and get out of hand but is easy to pull out. Even though I only visited once Longwood Gardens would have to be my favorite because besides everything being perfectly cared for everywhere you look, the volunteers who are all over the place are so nice and knowledgeable. And if they cannot answer your question they find somebody else who knows the answer and then they hunt you down to tell you. Amazing! And lovely video, BTW!

Such a lovely video, I love when botanical gardens are designed to bloom in each season. I really like the idea of visiting as many botanical gardens as you can - I've just made a video on visiting the ones in Warsaw, Poland on my travels. How many have you visited now?

I really want to get back to Longwood. What time of year would you say is the best to plan a visit? I definitely want to roam the grounds. The one time I visited was in December and it was far too cold to really enjoy the grounds. I know there are a lot of other gardens around the area. Are there others you’d recommend including on a “garden getaway”?
@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...I really love seeing the tulip ddisplays. Late summer when the dahlias are in bloom is also amazing. They are making big changes to the conservatory at the moment and a large part of it is closed until 2024. I also love Chanticleer, Ladew, Hortulus, Nemours, and Phipps. I've been to others but those are ones I I always go and see multiple times.
@emkn14793 жыл бұрын
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens Thanks so much! Good to know about the work being done. Maybe I’ll hold off til then. And I live about an hour from Phipps (I think we’ve chatted about that before ☺️) but I want to visit gardens on the other end of the state. I hear that area is something like the garden capital of the country! Anyway, I watched your Chanticleer video and now I definitely need to visit there too. Thanks for all the info!

Perhaps you could give the headquarters there a suggestion about their water feature at the beginning of your video. If you close your eyes, the water really doesn't sound pleasant the way it's coming out. Maybe it could use an adjustment? Easy test, close your eyes. Does it sound good or just noisy? I have three ponds and 75 feet of homemade creek. I try to pay attention to the sound my falls make.

Hi there! I shot this in 4k. It seems sometime youtube chooses to air it a lower resolution based on internet quality and usage. If you select 1080 or 4K from the settings widget you should get the high quality picture. I hope that is helpful!
