In this video, I showcase some of the breathtaking fish biodiversity from two of British Columbia's most important salmon producing rivers- the Skeena and the Nass.
Both of these rivers have populations of truly Wild salmon, and are undammed from their headwaters to the ocean, meaning these rivers are truly wild and free. This means all 5 species of pacific salmon thrive here, along with the legendary steelhead trout the region is famous for.
These fisheries are vitally important for maintaining salmon populations along the BC coast, bringing economic opportunities in the form of commercial and charter fishing. Salmon are also an important food source for many marine and terrestrial species. Salmon are truly the lifeblood of many freshwater systems, and it was lots of fun to get to connect with a few beautiful fish to connect with their amazing lifecycle in some tangible way.
