Why does everyone think the man was scared? Dude had a bag of western snacks nailed to a pole next to a patrol route, he knows what he's doing and who his customers are.
@ipie13579
@ipie13579 7 ай бұрын
Not scared necessarily but in many middle easter/muslim/arab countries the left hand is culturally seen as unclean. You can look up the bathrooms and why that is elsewhere. People generally eat and shake hands and so forth with the right. Some might offer their left hand to shake yours as a gesture of purposeful disrespect. Guy probably understood that it was not intended as a disrespect but still a BIG cultural no no. Would be kind a like an Americans "flipping" a "backwards peace sine" to some one from the UK lol.

@@ipie13579 Yeah, while it's unacceptable for an Arab to use the left to us it's normal to see foreigners utilizing their left hand in a plentiful manner. We can't expect everyone to obey our cultural norms, when it's as the name suggests something cultural, and thus exclusive to our culture.

Norwegian soldiers, maybe studied abroad in another european country (somewhat common for europeons to study in other european countries) Wearing equipment with material manufactured from china, the US, and local ofc. With an HK as their weapon system, made in Germany. All the whilst these guys are in Afghanistan from which they travelled to via a C-130J Super Hercules, american made. What the fuck are you talking about? The Taliban never smacked natos ass you dumb fuck. The Taliban smacked the afghan governments ass after nato left them to take responsibility for their own county. That’s a big difference. NATO could have stayed in Afghanistan for as long as they wanted and there’s nothing the Taliban could have fucking down about it expect continue getting their asses whooped and fail to topple the afghan government. The Taliban got braver once the big boys left. They should be happy the US finally decided to leave because that’s the only way they were ever going to take topple the government. I think the US and its allies should have left and let the Taliban take over way sooner than it did. The US didn’t go there to nation build, it went there for national security and those objectives had long been met. In 2001 Afghanistan was an international terrorist haven and a open playground for groups like al qaeda. The US destroyed that international terrorist haven, got the people responsible for 9/11 and prevented another 9/11. They did what they set out to do. The US should have declared victory and withdrew before the end of the Obama administration. I’m sorry for the people that will suffer under the Taliban especially the women but the US and it’s allies for nearly 20 years successfully upheld the afghan government, after that amount of time it was time for the afghans to take full responsibility. The Taliban is an idea and unfortunately Afghanistan is a long way away from getting away from such ideas.
