Good news is that we are able to replicate the firmware issue consistently. We will try resolve this issue ASAP.

The Apex has the same hardware and firmware as Lynx only with different PID tuning, so if you experience any issues in Lynx you will have them on Apex as well, if you feel it's drifting then turning it off and on would fix it, they have been tuning the IMU from the first firmware trying to fix all the problems

Awesome video again! I know you swear you didn't expressive this pedal behavior on the original firmware with the Lynx, but i did. Exactly how you show it on the video after tight turn the pedals slowly coming back up. I was calibrating it often at the beginning, but later it just disappeard. Seemd like the time period as long as it was working properly after calibration got longer and longer. Later I was quickly switching to the new firmware versions and i never had this problem again. (100% hard mode and no acceleration assist on my Lynx) Just wanted to share my experience, hope that gives a new perspective on the problem.
@trubttam20 күн бұрын
Yes I’ve heard this often, it makes me think we really don’t understand what is causing the behavior. The only thing I can think of is that the IMU is tuned in such a way between the firmwares that the method of calibration that x user does results in success in a certain fw and the method of calibration that y user does only has success in another. If that makes sense lol They are working long days with the engineers trying to figure these things out right now.

@@trubttam yeah I agree, would be nice to better understand what's happening. About your theory it might be right although I went from the 'I calibrate at home with multiple bubble level tools on the wheel and the pedals' to the 'I guess it's kinda straight up, got to be good enough' on the field scenario, and my results seemed better and better. So I don't know. 🤷🏽♂️

I dont know the timeline of when they introduced the slider control for pedal stiffness, I kinda felt like that is when it started acting wierd. Nice review!

Wow that was definitely weird 😂 I gotta check my Lynx and see if this is happening too. My Lynx also been changing pedal position but not to this extent.

Man I wouldn’t be an unpaid Guinea Pig!!! Crazy that they send wheels out with that level of nasty.
@trubttam22 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t either, when Begode contacted me about testing firmware I said no. This is literally just a Lynx with a different frame, so it’s the same reliability as the wheel I ride currently.

@ thanks man my buddies and I really appreciate it and respect your opinions. The jump ability of the Lynx and the latest firmware is pretty solid for what we have in Manitoba 🇨🇦.

What is toes into the jump? Any jumping tips?
@trubttam20 күн бұрын
It’s how I accelerate into a jump without leaning chest over the wheel. I have a jumping tutorial that’s a year old or so. Making another one after the Apex moves on to its next destination.

At the end of the video, you seemed concerned about the wheel rubbing against something, but you didn’t provide any further details. Was it actually rubbing on anything? It looked like it was. If so, what was it rubbing against?
@trubttam22 күн бұрын
@@sherryandpeter I can’t explain it, nothing looks like it would rub there. When I asked Nosfet and showed them pictures they said it was probably just the way dust flows thru the wheel. I think I was about to guess it could be the mudflap since it won’t stay in the normal position and the arms hang down but I don’t know how they would reach around the knobs.

The Apex got the same controller board and engine as the Veteran Lynx, the difference in the behavior of the wheel is the weight distribution, on my Lynx i did one calibration when i received the wheel and never touched it again because i can't change the height of the suspension with the Apex you kinda need to recalibrate each time you change the height of the suspension because it mess with with the gyro sensor... I work in electronics if the wheel is higher the gyro won't move the same as if the wheel was in the lower suspension mode. Btw i had the pedals dipping on turn and jump on my Lynx until the firmware .12 which kinda fixes most of it but not completely it still does sometimes. **Also i think on the Apex you can't turn off the acceleration assist for some reason, this is not ideal for jumping because the wheel is leaning forward and takes some time to get back to his original position.
@RonnieRides22 күн бұрын
The behaviour of the Apex is a bit different because they did different PID tuning on it, Jack was talking about it on the Wrong Way interview, other than that firmware is the same.
@deadbluesky22 күн бұрын
@@RonnieRidesi didn't watch the interview but yeah if they did some tuning it could explain a lot.

you can set the acc assist to 0% on the apex. its funny how some people think going to 5.12 felt better, i never the had problems until i went to 5.11 / 5.12 lol
@RonnieRides22 күн бұрын
@@trubttam you can set it to 0% (which is default) on the Lynx also
@deadbluesky22 күн бұрын
@@trubttam good to know for the acc assist. For the firmware i had a lot more weird behavior on jumps (had some crash because it was leaning forward too much and 2 cutoff) hard turn was awful before 5.12 on my Lynx i sprained my right knee in early April because of it... I still have some dip but it's less weird or maybe my brain has gotten used to it over time.

Easy check fore mis calibration, at a stilstand turn z-axis 120+ degrees to each side,,,,, watch the wheel dib forward or backward

The calibration seems to drift often so we all need to learn to check now lol. They are working with engineers daily to resolve this, I hope it can be fixed.

I have only done the very tiniest of jumps (more like bonks really) but I want to take on some actual (small) jumps. Can someone please explain what is really being said by, "Toes into the jump"? I'm pretty hesitant to try jumps because I simply don't know what to expect in the air, or how to approach the take off point.

on some of the jumps, you can hear the wheel spin up. What causes that ?
@trubttam22 күн бұрын
@@TeamBlindMouse basically if you don’t let off the gas it spins up, you can lift up with toes or press down in the air to control throttle
