The originals of these games get a lot of love, and some people may be thinking that we’ve all just got rose colored glasses on. But we all played this game as kids, we all said “this slaps”, and then as adults when we discussed it, we all realized that it's still one of our favorite games.
It’s not a coincidence. This did not happen with Crash Bandicoot, or Lego Racer. These are great games, but they do not have the sheer cultural impact of Battlefront.

The success of the initial releases can certainly be attributed in part to the era in which they launched. Hot on the heels of the prequel movies, and in the dawn of the modern multiplayer fps era, a generation of young gamers were enraptured by the star wars universe portrayed in these shiny, innovative new games. But nostalgia aside, these games hold up as a breath of fresh air in the modern era.
