As a GenX trans dude, Cooper’s take on GenX women being mean to young women is bang on. My generation hands down contains some of the most ignorant, mean people. We grew up with the attitude that people who read or do anything with computers were nerds or (insert slur of choice). Sadly I’m not surprised that they’re now on Facebook bullying people. GenX had a lot of mean girls and bullies. We had it tough but then sulked about it and lashed out.
@ginoiseau7 ай бұрын
This is an interesting take, and makes some sense. Conformity was such a huge thing for so many people. I'm a GenX who always obsessively read, got bullied for being "too smart", and became a computer programmer. Two 🏳🌈kids, one is trans.
@ignorant11266 ай бұрын
It makes me so happy when people acknowledge the flaws in their own generation. My parents see zero flaws in Gen X, even when I bring up the divorce rates that left half of Gen Z to grow up in broken homes. They shrug it off and mention the music, economy and movies 🧍♀️

This makes me sad. I'm a cis woma GenX who had very dearly beloved friends in the LGBTQ community (though we didn't have a name for it then). I took part in one of the first gay pride events (Called Street Parade) back in the early 90s. Recently, one of my (adult) children has come out as being trans. I have no judgement. It's my child. I want them to thrive and be happy. That's all that matters. Let love and acceptance win.
@hellsbells86894 ай бұрын
@@Will0wFire I'm also cis woman GenX. I relate to your post about yourself more than the original post. In the original post I didn't see anything that was relevant to my growing up (in the UK) other than the bullies. I'm sure they still have bullies now too, right? I didn't have to grow up with the added pressure of being trans, however, so maybe that is why I can't talk on that part of the post's point. All I know is myself, my friends and the family I raised ALL support the LGBTQ+ community and if you don't, then you do not get near to my circle. I can see Cooper's point, in some cases, that older women may feel threatened by younger and more attractive people. Sadly, nowadays it is possible to spread your stupid hate online, whereas before, you could only do that at the local shop, pub, school gate or in the street. Believe me, women through the centuries have done this. It used to be called "gossip" and many that were prone to doing it in the extreme were generally humoured with an agreeing nod of the head and then laughed at once out of ear shot. What these FB groups are doing is way worse than gossiping. They are helping to spread real hate against something that has always been with us (trans people). Making a Bogyman for people to see as the new thing to be afraid of. They have too much time on their hands. They are also very easily manipulated by their like minded friends. You can make them believe anything, it seems, as long as you tell them, the devil must be in them, if they don't agree to hate along with the group. Anything to fit in, eh? I'd sooner be alone than in a hate group.

I took a class on forensic sciences a bit back. Genuinely, it is super damn difficult to determine gender from skeletal structure. It's mostly to do with the pelvic bones (obviously wider for a baby) but there is trace evidence you can determine from the clavicle and mandible. The big problem though is that the size of bones actually correlates more to race then gender 90% of the time, and its minute differences. You cannot easily gender a skeleton without caliper measurements, and people who say otherwise are just one big clown fiesta.

As Jessie Gender points out in her videos, not only do they not care about women's sports, but also women were actually WINNING certain sports--which may be the real reason women were kind of kicked out into their own leagues. See, muscle mass isn't everything; some sports are about agility, endurance, fine tuning... for an example, the longer a run becomes, the more women start to outshine men. Makes sense, if you think about it; a body that might have to go through labor has been designed by nature to be able to persist through many hours of physical strain. Labor sometimes takes days. But that doesn't fit transphobic, sexist narratives, so it's downplayed in the media.

Not particularly fun fact: “invert” was an early medical term synonymous with homosexual. It was dropped as a term because it doesn’t really match reality. To use myself as an example: my sexuality isn’t backwards/reversed, I’m not doing incorrect heterosexuality, I’m just a lesbian. Funny and disappointing to see that they’re reusing medical labels from the late 19th century but for trans people this time
@mattuwu99787 ай бұрын
“Invert” was also used for trans ppl. Magnus Hirschfeld (one of the earliest medical researchers on gay/trans identities) initially coined the term “transsexual” to describe us, but also recognized that sexuality was different from physical sex/identity; trans ppl could be attracted to anyone. And the term “gender”, as we recognize it today, didn’t exist until the 1960s. When the term “sexuality” began to make its way into social sciences in the 40s and 50s, the public naturally began to associate “transexual” with sexuality, the implication being that only gay ppl transitioned as a way to cope with their “invertedness”. This is also why we moved into the label “transvestite”, to sever the implied association of sexuality.

I’m sorry to hear about your family not supporting you. I’m in my early thirties but I can kind of relate to you in the sense that I grew up with a verbally abusive, neglectful alcoholic mom who was rarely there for me. I remember when I was 15 & it was easily the roughest period of my life, but it gets so much better, I promise. I can’t imagine how devastating that must be on top of dealing with others who don’t support your transition. Keep your head up, everything will work itself out ❤ Also, I obviously don’t know your situation but I hope that your family cares about you & maybe they’re just concerned about you making a life altering decision at such a young age. Either way, do what makes you feel the most comfortable in your own skin. However, it might be beneficial to live as the opposite sex for a few years and wait until you’re at least 18 or even a bit older before making the decision to get on hormones and/or have any surgeries. My friend who’s trans always recommends younger people in general but especially those who’re starting to or have already transitioned to go to a therapist that specializes in trauma. It’s really important to unpack and heal from any childhood trauma no matter how insignificant you think it may be. She specifically chose the trauma therapist instead of a gender affirming therapist as she wanted to heal her soul instead of focusing on her dysphoria. She says it changed her life and really helped her become more confident and comfortable in her own skin. Afterwards, she continued to move forward with her transition as she always knew that’s what she wanted anyway but she said therapy helped her to deeply understand herself and also helped her to recognize what she truly wanted for herself. She was struggling with depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, etc for so long, I was amazed with how calm and peaceful she had become once she was able to heal her wounded soul. She encouraged me to go as well and I can’t explain how beneficial it is. Also, spending more time in nature, journaling, meditation & breath work helps so much for anxiety. If you ever want to get away from your family for a bit go for a walk or find a nature trail, look and listen to the beauty around you. Nature & sunlight have such powerful healing properties (and that’s coming from someone who used to hate the outdoors). Also, taking a break from social media does wonders for anxiety 😊 Sorry for writing so much & I hope my comment helps a little bit. I hope your family will come around and give you the support you need. Wishing you all the best. Sending you lots of love & light! Remember, the world is a better place with you in it ❤😊

Facebook is so wild. My mom don’t know anything on the phone but somehow manages to find all these wild FB conspiracy theories. And I can’t convince her different. She isn’t part of any groups such as this one, but she does believe in a lot of crazy other conspiracies.

Cooper, once a video you say something that makes me realize how young you are, and this video it was "Cillian Murphy only became widespread last year due to Oppenheimer"

19:31 “I never realized how large she was” First, that sounds EXTREMELY fat phobic. Second, she’s also on a step above the other girls?!? Ofc she’s taller than them at that moment, that’s how science and steps work?!?!?😭

My ex-boyfriend told me about these videos 4 years ago. He was also a flat earther. And an alcoholic and drug addict… so it could also be substance-induced psychosis. lol! These people are NUTS!

as a trans person, I find this so fucking funny 💀🙏 istg I love seeing people who want me dead lose their minds over this insignificant shit 😭😭

"Do not transvestigate anyone who isn't famous" is a safety rule that has been written with JPEGs. If this is the FB group i think it is, then the leader got transvestigated too and made that rule up to shut down further attempts at transvestigating her.

50 year old, white woman who loves your channel and appreciates your POV. Watching from Pensacola, Fl. 🌞 P.s. Facebook is a circus. I only make posts about my plants, cats, and missing people now. Mainly because it's the only social media platform where I can keep up with my family in PA and my mother.

These people are wild. Trying to assign sex based on bone features from a picture (of living people) is impossible. It's hard enough to sex a skeleton when you can closely examine the bones themselves
@AB-ty7kh7 ай бұрын
Yup. And even archeology tends to use more then just skeletal information to try and identify, such as; clothing found on the remains, artifacts around, date of the burrial in relation to the social norm like, " we have written context men only adorned themselves like this and the skeleton seem above average in size and so we belive it is a man ..". Its often the case that they say "likely a ___" not usualy that they DEFINITELY are. But these idiots think they can do it from photos.

I think we as a society need to widen our scope of features that are perceived as beautiful. Seriously, I really think some good marketing could do a lot to solve insecurity for people.

The jump from "manly bones" to "they are DEMON POSSESSED, STARS FROM HYBRID BLOODLINES, DESCENDENTS OF GIANTS, DEMONS GIFT THEM TALENTS LIKE SPACE JAM" has me wheezing. A reality where trans people are just ethereal beings, fallen stars with the power of the cosmos running through their veins sounds pretty sick, actually.
