Thank you for talking about infantilization. I know a lot of people who I otherwise get along with who make excuses like "she's legal so it's not weird if she acts like a child, it's just a kink" or "you can sexualise fictional minors because they're not real and no harm is being done" ignoring that they are feeding into this culture and they treat me like I'm crazy when I point out how uncomfortable it makes me feel. I like anime but it's hard to find shows that aren't guilty of sexualising a young girl. Not to mention how popular "barely legal" content has always been. It's disgusting. I'm a 25 year old woman and I can't tell you how many times I've felt pressured to act more juvenile or innocent to be attractive to a man
@taylorbowser5718 ай бұрын
Thank you! It really, really irks me how normalized sexualizing minors has gotten in fandom spaces. The "it's just fictional" excuse is such crap. Obviously, it's not as bad as treating real kids that way. Duh. But that doesn't mean it's suddenly chill! It's weird and creepy that you want to make or look at sexualized content about any 15 year old, real or not. But I've legit seen arguments that it's somehow female liberation to write tons and tons of porn about 14 year old anime boys. Or that people who are creeped out by it are just prejudiced against autistic women. I was kinda shamed/manipulated into tolerating it for a while, just because I was afraid of accidentally being bigoted. But the older I get, the more I think it's just alarming. Especially considering how many people are thirsting over movie versions of Harry Potter characters, or the Stranger Things kids, which means that they're writing and/or thinking about actual, real life child bodies. And it totally bleeds over into real life attitudes, too. It's impossible to be creating and consuming that sort of content, and not have it affect you. Or, you know, have it say something about your preexisting creepiness. Infantilization of queer men and East Asians is pretty much ubiquitous in fandom culture. My last ex was a rabid anime fan, and I learned the hard way that it's never "just fictional".

It’s a scary trend in my opinion, I was frustrated with the sexualization of school girls but the infantile behavior is distressing. I feel like it could act as a gateway to actual children.
@chleorrrrnorrrrr2915 Жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree. I was doing my SW with OF, Twitter, and Reddit at the time. It was disturbing how many requests I would get to do things that a grown woman shouldn’t be doing. Or being asked to act basically like a child for their pleasure. I absolutely refused any type of request, it made me very uncomfortable and those types of people are what made me question being in that line of work in the first place. Ultimately I quit. But it is very frustrating seeing so many other creators making content like that and acting as if it’s fine. They’re fueling and feeding predators and pedos fantasies alike, and the weirdos watching think it’s the more legal way to get off to what they really want. At least from what I’ve seen. It is absolutely unacceptable to me when a man subs to my page, pays money to see me nude, and then tells me via messages that I look so innocent and young (I am 23 so I’m definitely over minor age by a bit) Or that I look 16. Or that if I acted more childish and innocent it would get them going. In no world will that ever be comfortable to hear, and is scary how many dudes think it’s okay. They’re feeding this giant mass of creeps. Like you know by the way these creators look and act, that men don’t see them and say “wow this an attractive grown woman.” They think wow this chick looks like a child. Good way to get off without being completely illegal. That’s how I feel ab it anyway. It freaked me out too much.

EXACTLYYYY, it’s so scary how linked those people attracted to that behaviour are to beauty standards, especially those for women or femininity, and they’re often the same people who say ‘youthfulness is most attractive’, and set that as an expectation for feminine presenting people and women in many aspects of life, like skincare and supplements, as an example, there’s endless types of anti aging creams and supplements which are often only marketed to women and make them feel ashamed of aging normally, which encourages more of this same behaviour from people to appeal to creeps because they feel that they need to be youthful to an extreme degree and the cycle goes on again.

He's a poet and an author of a romantic fantasy series about vampires, and his lives are all in character as one of the vampires from his books. His audience is definitely not meant to be children, it's supposed to be his readers, or other readers of adult fantasy! His wife helps him run the page and I believe she also plays a character. I can see why someone just coming across his page without context would find it a bit weird though. Personally, I really hate the tiktok algorithm and the fact that it makes it very hard to curate your own experience, because that's how you get stuff suggested to you without context and it's how you create a breeding ground of people just doing weird stuff for money.

As a now adult woman who started being “casually” sexualised by adult men at an early age (the first time I got catcalled was when I was 10 and has been a regular occurrence since then), seeing people capitalise on trying to infantilise and sexualise themselves at the same time makes me deeply deeply uncomfortable. I have nothing but respect for sex workers, but at the same time the people who actively make themselves literally appear to be a child for their sex work does nothing but perpetuate the disgusting rhetoric that grown ass men abusing children constantly use of “she looks so mature how was I supposed to know she was only 15.” Or 13, or 10. Of course the only people at fault for assaulting or grooming or catcalling kids are the pieces of shit that are doing it. I just think that as adult women (especially if you’re doing sex work) we need to actively avoid promoting this sort of infantilisation/sexualisation combo in order to protect young girls. If we are making ourselves look younger, that by design makes younger people look like our age, and gives disgusting men more excuses to use when they try to gaslight us and others into thinking that they didn’t mean any harm or do anything wrong because “hOw WaS hE sUppOsED tO kNOw”

Find me a woman that hasn't been sexualized as a child and I'll give you the holy grail lol But why the first thing you do is to put the blame on the woman, for the actions of men? Let's unpack that, because acting cutesy and "childlike" with pastel colors and shit to get more money is one thing, but sitting through that live and enjoying it to the point of actually giving money to her is another, and you know very well that if she weren't making bank with this shit she would simply do something else. She likes the cutesy aesthetics, and you also don't know how her porn is, if she acts childish in there too or not btw, so why you go immediately into judging her, when she may as well just do cringy TikToks and adult ass porn? You're giving credit to the absolute LIES that creeps and pedos say("I didn't know her age" "how was I supposed to know?") in the goofy attempt to find some pearl clutching argument against a sex worker that is simply bringing money on the table to eat, and doing nothing illegal. I don't like anything of that aesthetic or kink too, but I don't need to point my finger at her, I know why she's doing it and the weirdos donating to her are WAY more likely to have illegal shit in their hardrive, and you know that damn well. She's simply doing what brings her more money since it's her job, no weirdos no money.

i was just going to say the same thing. but tiktok is not a kids app. it's not even marketed as one. adults wouldn't be allowed on there if that were the case. it may be 13+ but ultimately it is the parent's decision to let their child use it. I've always been so interested in people like Cherry (first woman) just due to the fact that her ASMR content was so popular and a lot of her audience were children and she kept her adult work and ASMR seemingly separate but it kinda just turned to all of her content being nsfw most likely due to the fact that it pays better. Something I've noticed about the adult world that I think needs to be talked about more is the fact that "normal" KZbinrs do the things that adult content creators do and they will get canceled for it but for their adult counterparts, people don't really bat an eye and can possibly continue to hurt people. The whole acting like a child thing isn't illegal but can bring up many ethical questions.

In my experience with tiktok lives, I’ve seen people (woman almost always) sexualizing themselves in really weird ways. Like one girl was squirting butter on her face and one time I saw someone wear a shirt with no bra, walking on a treadmill super fast and pouring water on herself. And idk…if they are ok with doing that kind of stuff then whatever, but it still rubs me the wrong way. Also sometimes I get lives of children or adults on hospital beds and then someone else is like begging towards the camera and I don’t wanna be a b*tch or anything but those kinds of lives are everywhere and it feels really exploitative. Like for all we know, those hospital beds could be fake and those children are being forced to sit there so people scroll and see them and then give them money out of sympathy. It’s just weird. Also sometimes I get lives where people are just walking in really dark and creepy forests at night, like they are in the middle of nowhere and they just keep walking and it’s genuinely kinda creepy(those I actually end up watching sometimes) Idk, tiktok lives weird me out, even during musically days I don’t think I’ve ever come across a normal livestream ever. Going back to that whole sexualization topic: fetish culture on tiktok is a huge problem and I feel like nobody really ever talks about it. The way I see it, these are just people making a quick buck but at the same time something about it feels really weird idk. I get tiktok is not a platform made for kids and whatever, but I do think some adjustments should be made to how tiktok live works

Very weird thing to point out but means a lot, thank you! 8:30
@lolitzi47 Жыл бұрын
Omg I found someone with it mine isn't as bad as that but loads of people I know take advantage of it like blasting asmr or making the noises that trigger it. Does that happen to you
@Stutzie0 Жыл бұрын
@@lolitzi47 yes, often times it does. I also live in a household of people that don't believe in it so whenever they're eating and I come around, they chew extra loud with their mouths open. Happens at school too. People find it funny, but don't seem to understand that it genuinely hurts my brain, me having extreme anger issues doesn't help either lol. If you ever struggle with those people, I recommend trying headphones or earbuds to tune it out. Or make another really loud noise so you won't have to hear it. If you annoy them, they'll stop eventually.
@lolitzi47 Жыл бұрын
@@Stutzie0 thanks. I only found out what it was 6 months ago but I've always been annoyed by specific asmr like some of it is fine then other stuff makes me want to punch the person who made it. I get triggered by tapping and really loud mouth sounds
@sorormimm493 Жыл бұрын
Same here! It depends on what I’m eating but I prefer to eat with headphones in for this very reason lol

I don’t have it quite as bad, but I do feel for you! For me, if I’m the one who makes the sounds it’s usually ok (I do occasionally get bothered by my own chewing, but that’s only if I think about it too much and then I think it’s more that I’m in my mind at that point), but if anyone else does I want to explode. I wish you a blissfully friendly sounds day!

i definitely agree with the thing where people make the intentional choice to make themselves look and act like children to appeal to pedos... like people can say it's 'just e-girl makeup' all they want but it's obviously not just the makeup, it's speech patterns, mannerisms, the way they dress. it's totally creepy.

I think your mindset is in the right place to be responsible with a larger group of viewers. You're entertaining, not disrespectful. It's something that sets you apart, in my opinion. I think you deserve the popularity because you can stay humble, just surround yourself with people who keep you grounded, and you'll do well while still having as much fun👍

Cooper. I am a trans man and am starting my transition soon. I have always wanted to be a KZbinr and have a passion for filmography. When I start looking the way my heart feels I should, when my voice sounds the way my soul wishes it did, if I start uploading my ideas for KZbin content you’ll have been my biggest inspiration, and your channel will have been one of my biggest motivators. Of this decade, at least.

The only person i ever met who 100% went fully in on the "om nom! Crunchy corn!!" Style behaviour was a kinky age regressor with a whoooole lot of traumatic hangups. On one hand - all the sympathy and compassion in the world. On the other hand - the behaviour came from a childish aspect of theirself that had been treated very badly, and they were trying to cope by being sexual in a childish way. So im not really comfy seeing it.

Age regression is *not* sexual
@crowspirit5154 Жыл бұрын

@elliotostling5850 I mean OK, thankyou for the correction. I would still argue that there is significant overlap, but I respect your point of view. Is there a better word to use? I do feel that if I specify the environment of the age regression is in a context of ageplay *for sex*, then it is sexual. But is there a better word?

Like even if the age regression is instinctual or not something that can be controlled. I appreciate the difference between a reaction to trauma and just pretending.

I think a lot of the reason why acting like a child is super popular for women is because during the rise of feminism, there was this idea that men wanted purity because adult women were too radicalized so they started sexualizing minors or people close to being adults, but not yet. That’s why I think it’s such a big industry still. Also, I’m bisexual so I’M GAY AND GOING CRAZY IN THE COMMENTS

The sexual infantilization of women is nothing more than a substitute for actual p*dophila and it has nothing to do with purity. Also, a lot of predatory men often want young women solely because they can control and exploit them much easier as opposed to a grown woman who has life experience and the financial freedom to leave a bad relationship. That and the deeply rooted misogyny where some men claim to believe that women's sexual value diminishes the more they have sex-- which is really just an excuse for why predators justify going after younger women as opposed to women in their age range. People who only date younger are typically total losers and walking red flags. The exploitation of young women and girls has nothing to do with a desire for purity-- it's about power and control.

I think with the infantilisation, its a growing norm to see people act like children to drive an attraction towards them and (if it's their forte) drive people towards their adult content. It works because as a society, younger people are seen as the height of 'attractiveness' and that likely comes down to the sexualisation of 'purity/inexperience'. It can be seen in these Tik Tok lives but is also revealed in the constant misunderstanding of books and movies such as 'American Beauty' or 'Lolita' as romance instead of an uncomfortable situation of the sexualisation of young children/teens.

i think the reason it’s so uncomfortable is because when ppl use content like that to direct others to their “other platforms” it kinda shows those people who enjoy there “content” are predators. in a sense it may seem they are inherently saying it’s okay by directing people towards them using a younger version of themselves. BUT it’s honestly just shows how disgusting the overall social view of intimacy has become over the years 😢
