She'll also give those shitty people nightmares! She also protects from old school chain emails, and your average superstitions! Very multifunctional!! And she's always there, giving you good juju to offset things like this. And if Elijah isn't enough, take it from someone who's always felt close to the spirits: These are always lies. The spirits are not always kind, and sometimes they are cruel. But they're not supporting anyone's tiktok channel either. These fools speak lies and greed, while the spirits pursue the balance. There is no balance to their threats. They have no power, darling, trust me, and see them for what they are; charlatans desperate for attention. The next time you worry come read this: You are safe. Your loved ones are safe. Breathe in peace, and breathe out the malice they drip into your mind. They have no power over you--you can tell by how desperately they beg for *you.* And remember. @@EClaire.1073 Aphrodite can be self obsessed too lol "Pagan" means "religions that are not JudeoChristian" in formal literature, that's how I use it here. Aphrodite is a Pagan god, and like most Pagan gods, is a little full of herself haha Pagan gods are really just like advanced people. To be fair, I think most Christians are accidentally worshipping Pagan gods too, like Baptists who worship aspects of Loki unknowingly (retribution, punishment, shame), etc. I think the Old Testament was written by Marduk. All deity comes down through the planes of existence by the usual concealment mechanisms, the collapsing symmetries we see birth the laws of physics. Deities are kind of narcissistic because that's just a consequence of being great and influential, and they often need us, need worshippers, to pray, to interact with them, and to help them see what really matters in life. They're detached from mundane life more than we are, and we all have to work together to build a happy world.

From an occultist of over a decade, just my two cents: 1. Identifying deities by tarot is impossible. Every deity has so many combinations that cross over with deities from other pantheons that you simply cannot identify a single deity from a blind draw. Idgaf what anyone says, you're completely limited in your knowledge and deities are such vast entities that you don't know every side of a deity to identify them with cards. That's a scam. You're getting "Achilles for three people in a row" because that's all you know. That doesn't make it true. 2. Godspousing is similar to what nuns do. You devote yourself to your deity. You don't talk shit about how you're "walking away from her three times". That's not godspousing, that's delusion. Having a relationship with a deity requires work on both ends and if you're treating it as flippantly as that, you're gonna get your ass handed to you while the rest of us point and laugh when the deity has had enough of your shit. you're no godspouse, you're a joke. 3. If you're not ruling out the mundane before jumping to the spiritual, stop practicing. Period. You're too far lost in the sauce and no, seeing a single bee in the spring and summer doesn't mean Zeus is trying to contact you. 4. Those scam artists on TikTok with the "this is your sign for whatever" make my blood boil. They're complete trash. If they start out with that or give you those god-awful general readings that are literally just telling you what you want to hear to sucker you into paying for readings from them, or worse, trying to get clicks and views for telling you that your ex is coming back for the millionth time, they're complete trash. If you do collective readings, idc how accurate you think you are, you're feeding into issues and hurting people because these readings are so gd general that they're next to useless. The people telling you otherwise are people who are just looking for confirmation bias. If the reading isn't tailored to YOU specifically, cards pulled for only YOU, the reading is trash. That's basically a sun sign horoscope in the newspaper. Useless. Honestly the only "practitioners" who would be mad about anything said in this video are people who probably shouldn't be practicing.

It was seriously cult-like, it's so freaky thinking about it? We went and everyone welcomed and hugged me, one girl brought a puppy with her for us all to pet, and before "worship" started they took me out and bought me ice cream while they sang Christian pop music. Then during the worship everyone just stood in this big empty room and prayed and spoke in tongues and cried and it was scary but I also DEFINITELY felt the whole "community/camraderie" thing that I was craving because I didn't have a ton of friends and BOYOHBOY that ish was crazy. It's also not really something He'd use for a message like that, like, that sounds like some HARDCORE main character syndrome, she couldn't stand that something wasn't about her.

I am someone who teaches about spirituality. I spent a very long time educating myself on ancient teachings and their connection with modern-day sciences. Which included psychology and the understanding of quantum physics. The narcissistic side of spirituality, where a person claims to know the journey of another, is highly infuriating. And I think you're absolutely correct about there being some individuals who would be well served to go through an ego death.

I am someone who experienced a psychotic break once in my life. I had endured far too much trauma through out my life and hit a breaking point when I lost my father, 5 years ago. It started with the most severe and crippling depression I had ever gone through, and it slowly spiraled into such an intense mental health crisis, that I started to experience Spiritual Psychosis. This lasted for a handful of months, it was horrifying, and it completely ruined my life at the time. Prior to healing and therapy, I felt so ashamed for years, confused and afraid of what my brain was capable of doing to me. If I had come across any of these manipulative and/or mentally ill people online, it would've made my condition that much worse.

As a practitioner myself this is why when people ask me about it I never say “I’m a witch and I practice magic” I say “I’m pagan or I’m a spiritual practitioner” because it’s not this whimsical aesthetical fantasy shit. It’s a real spiritual/religious practice that connects you to nature and connects you to your best self. It takes research, dedication, respect and time. No one can make someone suddenly fall in love with you but you can work on manifesting the best version on yourself to come forward for better opportunities I have an ex friend who said he worshiped Hannibal. HANNIBAL. They also pretended to have a D.I.D alter of Hannibal, said they would send their own shadow to spy on people and fill them in on what the other person were doing. Needless to say I don’t speak to this person anymore. As someone who was raised in the same type of Christianity and is now a witch, it is so refreshing to have someone point out that Christians are not immune to spiritual psychosis. I was raised in the Bible Belt in a rural town. I went to church camp and Vacation Bible School every summer and for the rest of the year, we went every Wednesday night and twice on Sundays. While I do have some very fond memories of that time, the amount of manipulation and spiritual psychosis that I experienced is insane. After all, it's not a good service until someone has spoken in tongues, someone else has translated it, someone has fallen out in the spirit, and someone else has started running through the aisles. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want, just please stop attacking my faith while putting yours on a pedestal. Every faith has its con artists. Every faith has its weirdos.

Obviously Christians aren't immune who ever said that? First of all "group" spiritual encounters seem absolutely performative I can't imagine being part of a church where that is encouraged I would always doubt any sort of group performance like you're talking about. That is hysteria, like how people can start acting weird or violent in a crowd in a music concert, it's like the Stanford Prison Experiment except instead people pretend to speak in tongues or walk over people and crush them at a concert when they're usually not violent in day to day life. Christians are actually some of the most well known cases of spiritual psychosis which is why the Vatican discourages people from talking to ghosts by assuming they're all malevolent demons and even then they almost never do an exorcism.

I went through psychosis, I genuinely believed I could speak with spirits. Seeing people saying it's ableist to call them out is really upsetting. My first therapist prolonged my psychosis by saying I was," probably just more connected to the spirit worlds." Had she just told me the truth, that those feelings were due to mental illness, I would have healed much quicker. I worry that the tiktok echo chambers are putting people into psychosis and keeping them there. Like it is funny how human brains can rationalize anything, but it is also terrifying.
@DonnyLeeDuke4 ай бұрын
Is your experience indicative of all of humanity? Are you in a psychosis if you have visions, or only if you hear voices? And if you hear voices in a vision? How is that different from hearing the voice of dream speak directly to you in dream, which happens often in lucid dreaming? Does is make a difference if the voices are inside or outside, or if they are inspiring art, are lines of poetry for example, or lines of a song, complete with music I might add. You would not think that a gift, or do you think those things are also indicative of psychosis? I do not like idioms all that much, but you have heard that we often throw out the baby with the bathwater no doubt. Things are not cut and dried inn this world, never really all this and not at any of that, and to be worried and upset because you think people are being led down the wrong path, that's a little entryway into what it is in you you're upset about and worried over, which might have to do with simply believing you were in a psychosis because you believed in the supernatural in a way that put you front and center. Maybe there is such a thing as the spiritual path, and, as the consciousness opens, if you really are learning spirituality and not have just adopted a set of beliefs and practices, things like voice and vision open, and stranger things, such as the Silence, but you have to be very careful not get fooled into thinking you are such and such, and you don't try and broadcast that for many years, because your goal is not hearing voices and having visions and showing this off to people. @@Saurdeloth My name is Donny. Bud is some way you use to show your irritation. I've affected you. I have proved no point, either that what I say is true or that I have a psychosis, and that is quite an diagnosis to make of someone by a single comment, even if you were a mental health professional, and I suspect you are not. But you do have ill will and want to insult, and I will predict you only give more with my reply to you, if you reply at all. I'm not really real to you, and my presence, and my eyes, are far from this e-communication, and you are simply exhibiting the behavior of the herd here by your trashing someone whom you disagree with. In the comment, I said nothing about myself, but let me now. I live in India a spiritual aspirant and have for 20 years. I was born in Texas and raised both on a farm in East Texas and the suburbs of Houston. My nightly dreams were a big part of my life, something my 'red neck' mom talked about with my sister a lot, the dreams we had the night before. A few times in my childhood I found myself in a place I could not fathom, somewhere in the house late at night, but my body lie sleeping. I also awoke in dream, but back then no one talked about lucid dreaming, and so I didn't know what to call it. When I was 12, I found myself out of my body and at my best friend's front door. It was a sunny Saturday morning. I watched as Johnny came out of his house and began to walk in the direction of mine. I tried everything I could to get him to notice me, but he could not. I say everything he did, and he was whistling a tune. I saw him come up to my door and ring the doorbell. I awoke at that instant and ran to the door, and it was Johnny, and when I told him everything he had just done, even the tune, he gave a reaction of fear and surprise a little boy can't fake, and he confirmed what I told him. Of course it was not done in a lab by the scientific method, but I believe my own personal experience. Do I also tell you about when I was in college and I had a dream I was inside my grandfather's body, and I could think my own thoughts and feel my own feelings, and also his? Looking out his eyes and feeling his body, I could see he was building a fence, and he was very thirsty. Then the whole left side of his exploded in the pain, the pain of death, and I knew that because in inner exploration in lucid dream a year before, I'd been stabbed in the heart and had a classic N.D.E., but not to a heaven, to my own living room, where I met our dead cat. I was an atheist but one not just accepting a belief. I had the ability to explore inside, and I was. Anyway, as my grandfather died, a bright white light came into him, the same light I saw when I died in dream a year earlier, but mine was yellow, and the terror he felt at that moment just vanished, and he wanted to go into that light, and I wanted to go too, but I was prevented, and I awoke in bed. Two weeks later my grandfather died of a heart attack while building a fence, in the place I saw him die out of his own eyes, and he had kept going to the house nearby for water because he was so thirsty. I call that inner body time travel, and it's not by contraptions that we will learn time travel, but by opening up the consciousness. But wait, there's more. You'll also get these sets of pairing knifes. Sorry, too much TV in the '70s. I became a Classical Greek scholar in university and scored in the top 10% of the nation in translating Greek, but after seven and half years of college, I left school and the normal life, and that was in 1992, but I really got into inner exploration while in college, and I wanted to see how far we go inside and if our consciousness is somehow connected or a part of that of others. Uh, have you done anything like that? Do you even remember any of your nightly dreams? Can you interpret them? I was doing grad work in the history of science, which I ditched when, wanting to know if the ancient Greek Ionian philosophers used unembodied beings to help them, I conjured a demon, and it went out and showed itself to at least one other person, who then took a shotgun and went crazy, and the SWAT team was called out. I had been casually talking to him about Carlos Castaneda at the high rise condo where we both worked. After he got out of jail, he called me wanting to be my student, as he had also seen the thing, at the time I called it up, and I told him to see a shrink, I mean, if he were going to go crazy a get a shotgun like that, and that I had too much to assimilate by what I had done. I then stopped the pursuit of knowledge and started spiritually seeking. It was spiritual experiences that bade me leave normal life. There really is the state of enlightenment, but I am not enlightened, and I know that because I have experienced the state momentarily, and so I know I'm not there now. I didn't tell you that I was in the last active duty cavalry troop in the US army, as a muleskinner, or that I was on a runaway wagon on the streets of D.C. just a couple hours before the Inauguration of Reagan in '80, and then I passed and reviewed in front of him with a 4570 black powder rifle, or that I became a Green Beret and parachuted into Germany in '83 with my A team and a tactical nuke, not knowing if it were real world or not. We were kept in isolation for three weeks in England before the mission. When we hit the ground we checked; the bomb had no plutonium. Then we walked 100 clicks through the Black Forest to pretend to plant the bomb, afterwards got put into the Net, the NATO underground made up of all former German soldiers who were then old men, some exWaffen SS, and it was from the Wallfen SS, the commandos, not the concentration camp SS, that many of the first Green Berets came from. A little military history for you. The Brits and other Allies got some too. It wasn't just rocket scientists they were scarfing up. All that helped me to be a vagabond, penniless pilgrim for over 10 years, sleeping outside as well as in, living with the poor and the rich, traveling in 27 countries and four continents, working my way by whatever job i could get, even sweeping streets, which I did in Israel, and no, I'm not Jewish, why I was sweeping streets. Of course I would end up in India. Anyway, I spend a lot of my day in vision, and I write poems and songs from there and do photography and make videos, and you can check out what you like, but I bet you don't have such a story to tell, do you? I can call you kid, but that would like you, and I am not insecure.

As a pagan witch, here’s my two cents: 1. You can worship egyptian gods if you’re white. I’ve done so before, nobody had a problem with it. But also I didn’t try to make money of it so... HOWEVER that’s because it’s not a closed practice like e.g. hoodoo, where you have to be initiated - there was this white girl, I believer her name was Kate Restin or smth, who tried to hex her african american ex girlfriend using african american deities and poppets and stuff and then she tweeted she saw Papa Legba and got scared and was later found dead. Folk magic is not something to fuck around with. Some people say she was killed, some say she got so scared she killed herself. Both bad. Take that as you will. 2. I wouldn’t even know what proposing would look like through tarot💀 Also, Loki, who, *please* remember, is an actual norse god, not just Tom H. seems like he’d do that shit solely to fuck with humans not bc he takes this seriously. 3. Charging people 50-100+ dollars for a tarot reading is a SCAM. All of them. If you were an empath, you wouldn’t be exploiting innocent people. 4. If you start hearing voices/a voice GET IT CHECKED. MUNDANE OVER MAGIC. I work with Ares, I’ve never heard a voice and I don’t want to. It’s important to stay grounded in the “real” world while practicing witchcraft or anything like it. :)

21:58 as someone with OCD with delusional tendencies, these types of audios/videos are genuinely so harmful. While they may be lighthearted in intent, they can be extremely harmful. I had to remove myself, a pagan, from witchtok and the adjacent groups because the videos and audios like that would trigger such severe panic attacks. One specific audio was, “like, comment, and share, or else someone will break into your home tonight.” I have obsessive thoughts surrounding home intrusions. Logically I know this isn’t going to happen, but when you have a disorder that runs on paranoia and irrational fear, logic doesn’t apply. I ended up having to admit myself to a hospital the next day because it put me into a severe OCD spiral which ended up triggering some of my most self destructive OC cycles, and led to delusional thinking and paranoia to the point of needing an antipsychotic treatment to bring my mind out of it.

Watching the popular-culture deity section was insane. I have ADHD, and was unmediated for a good chunk of my teens, during which time i had some overwhelming, insane obsessions with a couple of dead musicians, and even though I hadn’t heard of this concept my actions on occasion did kind of come close?? I never genuinely believed they were gods or that I could talk to them or anything, but there were times where I was so obsessed I just needed some way of releasing emotions beyond what words could do, and turned to some witchy shit. There was a time semi-recently, even with my medication, where I could not stop thinking about this one musician, and my emotions about him were so strong and overwhelming, that in order to get to sleep that night I ended up writing his name on a rolling paper and eating it. I don’t know why. nobody told me to, it just felt right. I needed a way to physically process it all, like to give myself permission to move on or something. Point is I understand what its like to have too many feelings about someone who is more like a concept than a person to you, and not having a way to process them, but seeing the tick-over between coping and entering delusion was kind of insane. very thankful i stayed humble enough to not genuinely BELIEVE i could coerce some guy into possessing me so he could write music again, or whatever it was that i wanted, but if i had somebody on tiktok giving me a tutorial, best believe little me would have tried

So many thoughts on the god spousing thing. First off that there’s very little historical evidence that it ever really existed. Nuns are often referred to as “brides of christ” in the catholic religion due to the vow of celibacy they take and the intense devotion they have to serving their religion. It’s a lot more of a metaphor than an actual marriage contract. In many ancient religions (specifically ones related to hinduism) there was a ritual known as Hierogamy which was a very metaphoric ritual between a priest or priestess and a god. These s*xual rituals were performed as a way of blessing the land for fertility and were done for the benefit of entire societies as the people involved were most often very highly ranked individuals in the religion (think a bishop or even the pope). These people dedicated their entire lives to their work and often lived at the temple they served My biggest issue is that we most often see modern ‘godspoucing’ is how historically and spiritually unbased it is, based on my research i haven’t been able to find a SINGLE piece of historical evidence showing god spousing within any hedonistic religion. That includes norse mythology. TDLR; Modern god spousing is such a bastardized interpretation of ancient religious practices that’s usually applied in religions it has literally zero historical basis being in and it pisses me off
@meruem8437 ай бұрын
Your comment sparked an interest in me, and I've spent the past three hours delving the internet for examples, or really anything related to, specifically, the idea of current "godspouceing," (GSing from here on). So, heres the thing. There are a looot of examples of different cultures *specifically* marrying a god/deity. While i dont think this makes the current idea of GSing healthy, or really based on a lot of spiritual background(for the average individual on tiktok), this does show that the idea of marrying an esoteric being has been around across both varrying cultures and history. Its a really interesting topic, and i had a lot of fun researching it. If you want some specific examples, look up the "spirit spouceing" article on wikipedia. It doesnt go into a ton of detail for individual instances on the page itself(it does source stuff though, and google is your friend), and about half of the examples given are not centered around "gods," specifically, but its a great place to start for a wonderfully interesting rabbit hole! Have fun learning!

Pop culture witchcraft is a thing but usually includes using symbols from shows or even certain phrases, but its not as widely spread and agreed upon from what i know and has been twisted, the deities i dont fully believe in, but believe whatever you want. god spousing is very controversial to some people, i work with around 6 deities and have a different vibe with all of them (motherly vibe, friendly vibe, etc.) but never romantic, i think everyone has a different experience with deities but spousing has alwasy been icky to me. lastly i HATE people who use spirituality to take advantage of people. also beware of misinformation on witchtok which i have seen a lot of, so be careful. again just my personal opinion. thank you cooper for trying to be respectful, but dont worry most of us don't exactly like poeple who say stuff like this, and some of them probably need profesional help, but i agree with what you said.

Not to be mean or anything but how do you know your a witch?

@@josiageorge3527 you don't "know" whether or not you're a witch. Witchcraft, as the name implies, is a craft that involves one's dedication, intent and cultivated skill that can be learned and improved upon, kind of like crocheting (but more spiritually significant if that makes sense)

@@josiageorge3527 i practice witchcraft that means i'm a witch, it's that simple

@@josiageorge3527its the same way a person who practices christianity calls themself christian, being a witch means you follow/devote yourself to witchcraft. its not like crazy powers you’re born with or whatever media portrays it as, hope this helps
