The Twst fandom right now: "AHHHHHHHHH" *runs around screaming* No but seriously happy we finally got something. Since it's based on a season and covering each book, my guess is it's going to follow the manga, but if that's the case I wonder how they will tackle the "Yuu" situation as we have different Yuu's, but all follow a similar story path (least what I can tell reading Savanah Claw atm). Personally I think it would be better to just focus on one Yuu entering the world so it'll be easier to follow. I also wonder if we'll get a simuldub at the same time and if so which company will be taking over the dubbing. I really hope it's Crunchyroll or Viz as preference. Big Bang Boom Studios usually works with more familiar and upcoming while Crunchyroll usually sticks to usually just familiar. Least we know that for the sub it should be the original cast as I don't see them switching. Overall this is super crazy

So they're gonna go the manga route? It's gonna be confusing with the different versions of Yuu for newcomers and anime-only people for each season. I was kinda hoping they would just stick with one version of Yuu throughout the series, but we'll see how it does with this kind of decision next year.

I thought I was reading the wrong TW series and I thought there was another Heartslybyul book with a female MC. I'm so glad that this is real! We're finally getting the anime! I keep up to date with the comics so I'm really happy that they are going to be based on the comics. Like you said if it's based on the comics then that means that we have Yuuken season 1, Yuuka season 2, and Yuuta season 3. I would assume that there are going to be more comics in the future so that would mean at minimum four more Yuu's for Scarabia, Pomefiore, Ignihyde, and Diasomnia. That's wishful thinking on my part though because I love reading the comics so much. I was half hoping that it would be based on the novelization which features Yuuya, the Yuu for that version, but this is fine for me. This makes me wonder though, are we going to get anime specific scenes like how the manga and novel have things that weren't shown in the game.

@@kisshunaromi Agreed, just because a character looks similar doesn't mean they are them, for example Kazuha from Genshin was called Canadian Aether for a long time and I just did not see it, On that note JAMIL as GETO?! I can't see it all that much except long hair. These jokes are funny only the first few times before they become annoying. I'm also worried about ships too because as much as I love shipping, I don't ship any of the boys or teachers with each other. I can see nonsensical ship wars occuring like in Bnha fandom

I’m so incredibly excited because this game has played such a huge part of my life for the past 3 or so years! And it has helped me a lot too. Out of personal preference, I honestly find myself conflicted for the anime now only because it is adapting the comic/manga. I don’t mind manga adaptations of video games at all, and have read a fair amount myself. Despite being largely non-canon to their games, I still find them enjoyable and also love seeing the art. I was originally going to buy the Twisted Wonderland manga if it got an official English version, but when the Heartslabyul one got announced or released (I don’t remember which one), the Savanaclaw Manga was announced in Japan, and the new protagonist confused me. Before continuing, I do understand why they are changing protagonist: to emphasize that Yuu can be anyone and everyone. But, for me, it makes no sense continuity wise since each main story arc are connected to one another. I ended up not buying the manga because I knew it would be something that would bother me as more mangas released in English officially. There’s a chance of this affecting me watching the anime. I think I might check out the Heartslabyul season because I have a bias for that dorm and the characters, but I’ll have to see if I want to continue afterwards. Other than that, at least the Anime is no longer a myth, haha!

If you want the novel has the same protag for the first two books and goes into cool details that they couldn't in the games like Vargas giving Yuu something different to do during PE since he can't fly. And yeah I do with we had a new MC that was different from the manga and novel but was the same throughout the anime.
