Found out I autistic after my mom took me to the doctor because of strange bald patches when I was younger. The doctor said it’s normal for kids with “Asperger’s” to pull their hair. Turns out my doctor assumed my family knew I was on the spectrum, so she didn’t say anything.

How did the ynot know you were diagnosed with aspbergers tho?

I’m literally not diagnosed or anything but I still gave a wound on my scalp that I can’t leave alone from a table fork I had jammed into my head 2 years ago. It’s like “you’re fine” and I tell myself I’m fine and normal but something ain’t right

My husband went to a Dr recently, and told him that’s it’s not necessarily panic attacks he’s having, but a continuous ADHD (which he already knew) and a form of autism. He will not relent telling me I have the same issue. No, I’m just pissed off that I’ve been the bread-winner for years🙄 & finally turned to alcohol to get away from the constant talking and when I actually say, “You don’t see me, do you?”… he just keeps on talking. I’m getting duct tape for his birthday. Oh, just got a call that he locked his keys in the truck, so gotta go rescue him. But dang, don’t I love him to the end of this world ❤️

Yes, eyebrows and I used to have the horrible habit of pulling out my eyelashes. Personally, not a fan. Rate it -10/10

I have destructive meltdowns but still say stuff like “I’m so autistic” over small things because it’s just another form of ‘laughing’ at myself in a social situation

As an autistic person who has two (currently) stims involving banging my head against the wall repetitively, I feel this.

When I was like 10 I didn’t like how some of my hair felt on my forehead so I cut a chunk off so that it was about a centimetre long. That same chunk is still shorter than the rest of my hair 3 years later 😅
@sbocaj2221 күн бұрын
If that one chunk is shorter then it’s because you didn’t cuz the rest of the hair to match it. Cutting hair from the ends doesn’t change how your hair grows because your hair grows FROM THE ROOT

My husband is autistic there have been moments where he’s been self violent and in those moments I work like a service animal and curl myself in his arms to prevent him from being able to reach his hair or his face. He scratches his face mainly idk if that’s common. I have an autistic son aswell though he’s very shut off and quiet it’s rather interesting to see two very different reactions on the spectrum. Not interesting like lab rats but interesting like hmm that’s something to look into yk. I love them both no matter what. Im also on the spectrum but my mother abused me into concealing it.

Yeah, autism sucks, its not cute. I tend to scratch myself when i have meltdowns and when i was younger i would ask "why can't i be normal?" And i see people saying "Look im autistic!" For fun or views. It sucks

Your experience is valid but it honestly feels a bit like you're telling people that they're "not autistic enough" if they don't experience the same things you do. Yes not all people may struggle as much as you do but that doesn't mean they're not autistic. Videos like this stop people who need help from asking for it because they don't feel like they struggle enough to deserve it.
@user-ayiy824jbd21 күн бұрын
dude. meltdowns are a requirement for autism what are you talking about
@selma.lovescats19 күн бұрын
@@user-ayiy824jbdno they are not. you could also have shutdowns which are mostly common in autistic people (specifically women) who have learnt to mask around an early age. they are basically like meltdowns but internal, so you might be unable to respond to anyone or to do anything
