Unlike Harvey's statements at the end of this case, I don't think that the defendant should be the bigger person and let her mother the plaintiff have a relationship with the defendant's child. The plaintiff showed little to no regard nor respect for her daughter in this court case. There was absolutely no reason to bring up how many children her child had put up for adoption, how many exes she had, who the biological father of her child was, etc. The court case was about property damage/theft, harassment, and outstanding rent. Sometimes cutting someone off from your life is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself and your family. In this case, there is a very real chance that with her mother no longer impacting her life anymore the defendant will be able to work with her therapist to get the help she needs, and hopefully, the end result will be a positive, healthy, responsible, and loving parent to her child and girlfriend/wife to her partner.

Why does it matter? She doesn’t have her other 3 kids. What’s so special about having a relationship with this one?
@GUCC11973 жыл бұрын
I would not let that woman near any child of mine. It’s not compulsory to allow your child to have a relationship with an abusive person who is only going to cause harm to the child just like she has to her own daughter. The child’s interest and wellbeing have to be put first always. One would not let a child have a relationship with a grandparent if one new the grandparent was a pedophile. The same applies here the grandmother is not fit for a relationship with a child.
@mohammedkhaliq14753 жыл бұрын
I disagree, the mother invited her and her newborn to live with her at no expense so she they can reconcile but she brings a simpy dude who is not the father of her newborn or any of her previous kids that she gave up for adoption. It seems the mother did not want to be burdened with additional expenses of another man her daughter is shagging who will probably end up becoming baby daddy #5 or #6. The daughter and her boyfriend should've paid their share of the bills and the drama would've been avoided. Do you think the mom should be proud her daughter gave up 4 of her kids and is now with a man who can't even pay his own bills let alone provide for her and her kids? Should she be happy about the increase in utilities, food, personal care expenses that she will have to pay for when she can't afford it? As much as I disagree with the way she outed her daughter on national TV, I get her frustration
@Bepbo3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I was looking for this kind of comment. Yes you should try to have a strong family bond BUT if the mother/grandmother/etc is toxic and mentally or emotionally abusive, that will not change. I don't care if you're my best friend of 20 yrs or a blood relative, if you are making my life complete fuckin hell and refuse to change or apologize, you have no right to be in my life anymore. Related or not, cut that cord for good. (The daughter is not a Saint either in this case, I'm well aware, but clearly there is no reason to have the psychotic mother involved in her life anymore)

@@bryanbryan5214 We don't know if the children were the product of a non-consentual night, if she was in an abusive relationship and was fearful, if she had the mental, emotional, & financial stability to raise them, if substance abuse played a part. We know very little about the situation or why she chose what she did - because it didn't relate to the case and it's her private business. All we can go on is she chose to give several of the children she bore up for adoption, and now for whatever reason she is ready to raise a child. That shows growth and shouldn't be looked down on.

I'm the defendant in the case and reading all your comments really got my attention. My 14 year old niece who was sitting in my mothers car during the court case by herself (she was 12 at the time) is the one who showed me this on youtube. My 3 older kids were by the same father. I was with that man from 18 years old until I was 26. My 3 kids with him were taken out of the home due to domestic violence. He would beat me with a belt, as an example of the physical abuse that was in the home. My mother is also the one who called cps on me to have them taken away from me thinking the state would give them to her. "My mother" wasnt allowed to have custody of them because of her significant history with CPS from when my brother and I were younger. My brother is dead that's my nieces father. My mother didnt want me living their rent free. She also refused to watch my newborn baby so I could go to work. Having my boyfriend (mark) move in was the only way to make her happy with weekly money (he has his own spot and couldnt afford 2 rents so he moved in with me there with my mothers approval because she wanted the money) so for those of you who says "dead beat plantiffs" you are very far from the truth. She got her rent every month. Until she robbed my baby's bathtub so I couldnt bathe her daily. To the point I had to call the cops and make a break in report (cops made a comment that they left the big screen TVs and all electronics but took a babies bathtub) she smiled at the cop while signing the report. At that point, rent stopped until I was able to bathe my baby. Then she turned off the electric multiple times. Cops had to get involved and they told her she legally had to leave it on. She decided to go outside, lift the window and smash the ac unit with a hammer..all while mark was at work. I was at the house everyday, he was working 70+ hours a week so we could get our own place. He wasnt around for any of this drama. It was his air condition unit which is why he was on the court papers. That mentally ill woman stole all my shampoo, conditioner, anything she could when I left the room. I put a camera in it and had her filmed robbing my stuff. I then changed the lock to the door and she lost her mind over it and broke the door so it wouldnt even close. She treated my father this way and my brothers this way who are both dead today and she cries her eyes out daily at the way she treated them but treats me worse than she ever treated them. So for everyone saying I keep reproducing and have all these male partners, your wrong. First 3 babies with the same guy - eliana (the baby who was a newborn when this happened) was a different father, yes. Thank God. My mother still begged me to get back together with the first babydaddy even though I was lucky to get out of the relationship alive. 🤯😭

I just ran across this People's Court episode recently. Grandma was such a horrible human being, and I use the term human being very loosely. I could feel the daughters bitterness through the TV screen. I'm glad you got out of that woman's house. I believe everything that you said. Don't ever ever see that woman again in all of your life. She is evil personified. Here's to a better future for you. May you have peace of mind.

I mean the mother might be a bit much but notice how the video of her with the stick was apparently what enabled her to get the restraining order against the daughter. Some judge was more disturbed by the DAUGHTER'S actions than the mother's which really goes to show that the daughter must've been the one more out of line there. Because the way that video was described by Mommy Dearest suggests that there's a lot more to it than just those few seconds that we saw.

When my oldest graduated from high school me trying to fine some way to talk to my mom, I sent her the invitation to my daughters graduation party. My daughter was upset that I did that she said " but she will ruin everything, I dont want her to come". That's saying something if her own granddaughter dose want her to come. I just told her that most likely will not happen. She lives in Florida and we live in Wyoming.

i don't think it would be a good idea to let the baby have a relationship with the grandmother... that would require a relationship between two people that apparently hate each other and that would be traumatic for the child furthermore, i'm not surprised that they didn't pay rent after she threw the AC out the window. family or not landlord is required to make the tenant's space livable. 85-90 degrees is way too hot for an infant to be constantly in. especially an infant who isn't used to that type of temperature. also, she said her daughter and baby could move in for free. why does the boyfriend/father figure need to pay? oh, she's mad her daughter brought her boyfriend to live there too. oh well! either accept that he's there and let him stay free as well or tell them all to leave if u don't want him there. obviously she didn't want him there and her daughter did, so all this could've (maybe) been avoided if one of those two things happened. if u don't want someone in ur house, make them leave, but don't get upset when the person they came with leaves too, especially if they're in a romantic relationship. i may get some hate, but those were just my two cents 🤷🏾♀️

The mom and daughter here remind me of a dialled back version of an ex-roommate's family, they were even more toxic than these people if you can believe it. My roomate's mom in particular was truly a monster like I've never seen. They were a deranged, screwed up, and violent family, and I don't say that lightly. Part of the reason it was so bad is that *all* of the family is abusive to each other and they all act like they're just the abused and not abusive. Like my roomate used to tell me she was told by her grandpa she was "The White Sheep in a family of Black Sheeps" but she was near, if not just as bad as her mother and she didn't even know it cause she never self reflected, and god forbid you tried to make a good point she didn't like. She'd hate dealing with her mom cause she was controlling, then she'd literally treat us how her mom treated her 24/7 and try to control us, and it was her way or the highway. At *best*, my roomate was a Dark Grey sheep, nowhere near white. They were all abusive to each other and anyone who had the misfortune to know them as anything more than a casual acquaintance. Worst part? They all acted like children and me and my partner were more mature and solve issues with conversations, not screaming arguments and fists, despite the mother being in her 50s, the roomate being 31, and us being in our early 20s at the time. And all the families walled off secrets I knew about was a horror show all of its own that I won't even get into, but at a minimum I discovered a ways into my lease that the mother was on an FBI watchlist, if that tells you anything. It was so bad that looking back now it feels like it had to be a fever dream but it wasn't. I imagine my roomate's family in a court room would be just as bad as these two if not worse. If this is how this family is willing to act in court, I imagine they're even worse than the videos caught behind the scenes with probably years of baggage, just guessing from my experiences with similar seeming people. Too many red flags for my liking and I hope that baby is okay.

The defendant states above in the comments that the kids were taken away bc they were in an abusive environment with the kids’ dad. She was being abused too. Now she’s trying to have a better life but she still needs to make better choices. I would tell her- Continue counseling, don’t have anymore kids for a long time, get some job skills, stay away from your mother.

@jenniferfriesen7691 so she gave up 3 kids and had another 1... even though she didn't have a home or stability Yall love to throw around GOD but fail to use any common sense. She abandoned her children and brought another 1 in... already have men living around this child... Why keep having kids? She is a horrible woman. My heart breaks for the children. They'll probably wonder why she threw them away and had another baby for the rest of their lives.

Man I hate watching mothers & daughters go at it like this! Even though these 2 are quite the pair, it makes me appreciate & miss my own momma even more than I already do daily. I’m 31 years old. I grew up as an only child & was lucky enough to have such a bond with my mom because it was just me & her throughout my whole life. It made us connected in a way that very few could ever understand. She was my absolute everything & she loved me so unconditionally no matter the circumstances. Most people say a man is their soul mate, but not me. My mom was definitely my soul mate & I know I’ll never have love like I did with her. It was genuinely pure solely based off of the beautiful person she was. Yes we could bicker like the best of em’ but when it came down to it, we both loved each other more than we even loved ourselves. I loved my mom seriously, and would protect her heart and mind at all costs. Nobody could even look at my mom wrong or else they would see a side of me they really didn’t like. When I was a child she had many struggles with addiction that went hand in hand with her poor mental health. She may have made some poor choices/mistakes, but even through her flaws she still tried to protect me at all costs. If I could still love my mother so wholeheartedly through all of that, most can too. Once I got old enough to understand life & how hard it can be, I made sure I fiercely protected her right back. She just died 2 months ago unexpectedly from brain/lung cancer that we didn’t even know she had until it was far too late. I would give anything to hug my mom and have her here again. Even if I could just speak to her for 5 minutes… She was my rock & ultimate best friend. I’ll spend the rest of my life missing her, wishing I could have her back with me, & wondering what I could have done to save her/give her more time on this earth. She’ll never walk me down the isle & watch me get married nor will she be there with me if I have a child (something she begged me for because her 1 wish was to become a Nonna) I wish people would stop the petty b.s & appreciate their mothers/daughters more because once their gone, that’s it there’s no going back 8 I promise you that you’ll be sorry. Even if your relationship isn’t the best, make amends for the sake of your heart & soul. It doesn’t mean you have to accept all their flaws. It just means you’ll love them anyways just enough to remain thankful that they gave you the gift of life…. Anyways, I miss you so much Mommy. I love you so much. R.I.P😢😭💜
