I got pregnant in 2021 and then found out I had a brain tumor 4 months into my pregnancy. None of my friends had kids and I felt so lonely, clueless and scared. So happy to have come across your videos and channel. It got me through such a tough patch and also helped me experience the beauty of parenthood. I gave birth in 2022 followed by a 14 hour brain surgery 3 months postpartum. Thank you for your videos. They mean a lot to me and thanks for always being transparent. I felt compelled to comment for the first time because you did create such a beautiful channel and safe space for others. You absolutely did not owe anyone an explanation but thanks for always including your community.

Interesting Story: I posted my 6-month pregnancy announcement on Facebook, but once my Little One (LO) was born, I decided not to post photos or info about them. Nearly a year after birth, my mom and and old friend were catching up on a call and her friend expressed condolences for my loss. She was under the impression because I never posted anything after my pregnancy announcement that I had lost the baby. Not the case, my LO is alive, thriving and a handful. It never even occurred to me that distant friends that I do not see on a day to day basis would come to that conclusion, but it makes sense. I feel the protection of my LO is more important to me than the attention I can gain/share from others loving my LO, especially with the progression of technology and not know where it will be 5, 10, 20 years from now.

I'm so so glad to hear your thoughts on this . I've been feeling weirder and weirder watching family channels - I'm a mom of two, so I started watching these tyoes of videos to feel like I'm part of a community - none of my friends have kids - and to get advice and ideas. But recently, I had a moment that was like - wait - I don't know these kids. I feel odd being a viewer of others kids - especially in vulnerable moments. Of course I love hearing about the fun things people do with their children! I get so many ideas on things to do with my own! But on the bad days, on the sick days, on the grumpy days, I just felt weird watching those intimate moments. I still like getting advice on dealing with specific things (toddler tantrums, transitioning from a crib, potty training advice, etc) but I can get that advice without seeing the kids. I want the view of the parent on these subjects! How they impact the parent, not how it impacts the child (from the parents POV rather than the childs). I film my own little home videos - but they are only for myself, and to show family when they come over. There are ways to still have those memories and cute videos, without inviting strangers in! Thank you for letting us be a part of your life, and Arrows. And thank you for thinking about how this may impact her future and taking steps to protect her more. I'll still be a viewer since I like the content you make and the perspective you have even when it's not a day in the life vlog!

Good job mom!! I used to post my kids on Facebook when they were growing up....funny stories, pics (nothing inappropriate) etc. I mostly had friends and family on my friends list. My kids are teens now and hate that I posted so much of them online and have asked me to delete a lot of it. I can't imagine how they would feel if I had posted them publicly for thousands of strangers.

I did the same. My 23 year old daughter had to educate me on these dangers. I had to go back and delete them. I have a younger daughter now who is 2 and I choose not to share her photos. My older relatives do not understand but I’ve told them I would give or directly send them a photo instead. Not everybody has the right to see they’re photos.

I completely agree with you. I posted a video of my 1 year old daughter on my instagram. I am not an influencer at all and don’t have many followers. However, somehow the video has over 7,000 plays. It’s a really cute video, but I noticed there were lots of men, who from their profile, don’t seem like they have a young family. I don’t even know how the video has so many likes. It really causes me to second guess anything I decide to post online ESPECIALLY of my children (i am 35 weeks pregnant with my second). I don’t think you can be too careful.

I’m so glad more moms are starting to do this. Not showing their kids on social media anymore. I had my daughter in 2021 and I get that being in love with them, you just wanna show them off to the world. Thankfully I realized from the beginning that I was not going to post her anywhere. For her protection and her privacy. The people that love her and wanna see her will do so in person or FaceTime, other then that there’s no reason for others to be seeing her if they can’t take the time to ask about her or visit her💜

Big thumbs up for this one. I also thought it was obvious mostly for privacy reasons. No one needs their life to become a Truman's show, especially a child who cannot concent to it. We need to talk about it and see all the different perspectives as a new generation of parents to protect our kids. I watch KZbin almost daily and this is the first comment I’ve ever left, I feel so strongly about this. I am beyond happy to see this video and you are absolutely making the right choice. I agree with everything you said and as a fellow mom it is a gift to our children when we learn, grow and change with them. In the last year or so I have chosen not to consume media in which creators show their children as it feels out of line with my own beliefs and I don’t feel good doing so. I believe as the discourse continues more creators will make this choice and you help set the example doing so now. So happy to see this video and decision.

I totally agree with your decisions, it's definitely a safe community you've cultivated, and that hasn't changed, but anybody outside of the community can just search Mommy content and boom have good chances of being able to look at a little kid. It's also just like not putting a name under those little family stickers on the back of a vehicle. Anybody can see which child leaves the vehicle, go up and read their name on the sticker (or embroidery on a bookbag) and call them over with their name. Wish this wasn't the world we lived in either but hey, she's ~your~ world so her safety comes first!

I chose to not show my kiddos (for almost 6 years now), the big reason for me was my parents exploiting me and my siblings on the internet (sharing photos we didn't want shared - when we asked for them to be removed we were denied). I want my kiddos to have a choice - especially with the internet being forever. Along with protecting them from weirdos and predators on the internet!

I'm the furthest thing from an influencer but I stopped posting my daughter online and set my instagram account as private, I only share stories with close friends and I feel so much better about it! There is this notion of consent that stuck with me - she never said (and likely there will be a few years before she does) "ok mum I like this pic you can post it", yes these photos of her are so cute and funny but they are not of me so it's not fair of me to "expose" her to the world. And yeah, the AI stuff is scary. Good on you for putting your daughter first, I like the way you articulated all this too. Frankly I watch your content for you and as a mum, not to see your daughter's face (I say that with love - you get me 😅) Thanks for being a great *influence* on other parents :) x

It’s nice to see your explanation. I started watching you post-partum to find out what on earth to expect (I’m 6m behind you in motherhood). When my bubba was about 1, I learned some things about unsafe people and stopped posting pics of him on my private fb, just because people don’t advertise their pedophile status online (or at all), so whilst I know those on my fb, I don’t truly know if I need to be worried about them being there. I now post about once a month, but only from behind, or with something covering his face (not an emoji, like if he’s holding binoculars or something). I send the ones people want to see direct to them. You NEVER know who is looking and what they are doing with your child’s photos. I also get really annoyed when I answer the door and someone thrusts a parcel in the doorway whilst taking a photo. Often my toddler is only in a nappy indoors, and he ends up in these photos for proof of delivery. Lord knows who has access to them and where they end up. So dangerous.

I’m really glad that I watched this video. I’ve never thought anything of it when parents stop showing their kids in videos + pics before. It just made since to me…. even though My wife & I originally shared our daughter on social media. Fast forward to her being a little over a year old… I started feeling weird sharing her on social media… then by about 15 month old it just felt, Icky. So I removed all the pics & videos of her from my social with the exception of 1 photo of her the day she was born. My wife no longer post her either. We both agree that it just feels ‘right’ for our family.

Totally support your choice! and your reason about a stranger knowing too much about her and being able to use that in a bad way is an amazing reason I hadn’t considered. As a mom myself I have to add that there is one reason that is understandable but may be out of your control and that may not be best for your mental health to obsess too much over. Just the one where you said that people can watch your content and watch them for dark reasons. Yes, that is a possibility- but someone can watch you and her just as easily in person at beaches, pools, park, out and about and can have those same thoughts- there’s no way to control someone looking at your child and stop them from having dark thoughts- that’s actually completely out of our control. I know it’s a scary world in ways, I just know fear can get to a very toxic place when we try to control what we can’t control. And someone’s brain in person or online you’ll never be able to control, and being paranoid about people’s potential thoughts might be a losing battle and make you crazy lol. Just my two cents on that for your sanity, no shade. Love your videos, looking forward to more!

100% respect that decision! As a fellow mum I so get the constant quest to keep them safe. My husband heavily advocated for not having my daughter on social media before she was born and I didn’t get it at the time. We compromised and I found a private app photo book thing we could share with just close family and friends and now i get it and now I’m glad we did it. (No disrespect to anyone with their kids on FB etc. as you said, everyone has their own journey). I found your channel when looking for KZbin videos while pregnant and stuck in lockdown and needing support and information. I so so appreciated how honest and informative your channel was and still is. Looking forward to your future content as it’s still just as honest and informative 😊

I completely stand by your decision to keep your daughter safe. Thank you for sharing your reasoning, it made me think of how I post photos of my son on my private Instagram - even if I "know" most of my friends list. You made a great decision to protect your daughter. I can't imagine a stranger (even a kind one) being able to recognize my son and know his name. That is truly terrifying to me, because it could have been so different if someone had ill intentions.

I recently saw a video that said pedomons will take the face off a child and put it on bad stuff. So sad… people are gross. So happy for you and will continue to support you ❤

"A beauty of sea of motherhood bubble" I felt that. I am thinking of taking my daughters pictures down from my public instagram profession photography business. Such a hard decision!! Thank you for you work :)

As much as I love seeing your baby grow, I’m here for you talking about motherhood. I fell in love with your content ever since the diaper bag video. Do what you have to do to protect your daughter ❤

You are amazing ❤ and you’re protecting your daughter. And no one should have to question you why you make the decisions you do to protect your family. Your life in online and anyone who watches your videos or follows you on Facebook or instagram or ticktock could know who you and your daughter are and you’re right bc it is a scary world out there and you make the best choices for your life and your daughters life. God bless you ❤

As a fellow mom, I'm SO HAPPY about all the momfluencers (sorry for the term haha!) that don't post their kids, because I feel like these people in particular should know best the risk and effects of being out there so much and I'm actually disappointed by those that show their kids' faces. I'll miss seeing Arrow's sweet face but I'm really happy that you put HER first!

Thank you for explaining this. As soon as you mentioned your daughter being called by her name I had a penny drop moment - I get it. Thank you for always delivering such awareness in a kind way. I’ve watched you since I was pregnant in 2020 and so so appreciate the authentic space you’ve created. Please know that your videos have helped A LOT ❤

Totally agree. I don’t share my daughter on social media either. There’s so many nasty people in our lives that we don’t even know about.

I’m glad you did this cause people don’t realize something as small as going to a park, when someone knows what your child’s name and face looks like they can call them easily over, and lure them in!!people need to be cautious and more aware these things can happen to anyone!

Well I’m here for you so you’re stuck with me 😅 I found you during a very difficult time in my life. I believe my daughter was over a month old when I found your channel and your daughter was at least 3-4 months old. Your content helped me through the baby stage and toddler stage. I love how genuine, humble & honest you are! Heck I still watch your old videos b/c I’m now pumping for our 2nd baby and I need some advice on breastfeeding. And as we speak, I’m about to look up your potty training video b/c we’re about to with our oldest. So it feels like we went through motherhood together even though we don’t know each other. I totally understand why you’re doing this b/c I’ve been feeling convicted on posting my kids online lately. So I get it!!

As a mother, I understand this is your channel. I’m happy you are open with this, but I also feel like you didn’t have to explain to us. The world is dark place especially the internet. This is your decision & we need to respect it. I don’t share my 3 year old on social media anymore as well. Our children need to be safe

The Dad Challenge Podcast has a channel dedicated to explaining all of this. I kept hearing people say that children shouldn't be on youtube but didn't fully get it until I watched a couple of his videos. Such a shame. When I had kids in the late eighties, I would have LOVED to be able to see what other moms go through or how other moms do things. Unfortunately there are some very disgusting people out there 🙁

@BrittanyBalyn I’ve watched you since 2009 for your LA fashion & checking in through the yrs, have to say from the title alone it’s the best video you’ve ever done, you’re a great Mom and this action alone speaks volumes... Gabe & Jess Conte are a great example of how a child can be ‘included’ online & have a good podcast episode every Mom/Family Vlogger should consider watching... Bravo Brit ;-)

I feel like when you’re a mom and you watch content from other moms you don’t realize someone with bad intention could be watching the same content. I know your intentions were pure with showing your daughter and I fully support your decision not to anymore! Your child's image is her own and your job is to protect her. Love you!

Way to go Mama! I'm not an influencer, I have no "following", and I still don't put my kids on social media. It's just a scary world out there, and there is no need to have your kids in a possibly dangerous position. ❤

I highly support not having children on the internet, I’m a mother of two and personally don’t put my children up on social media. You are right, there are a lot of awesome positive people online but that small percentage just isn’t worth it for me

Yes!! I think it's different if someone says hello to me out and about. But what if I'm not with him for whatever reason and someone calls him by name and says hello and seems to know him so he thinks he will be okay with them? I don't know it freaks me out. Especially with kids having every waking moment of their entire life being shared for the world.

My son will be 3 soon and I’ve posted him maybe once or twice. People always judge me for not posting him. I don’t get why it’s so okay for people to post theirs 24/7 but we’re judged fr choosing not to! I’m 100% behind you with this. You’re doing great ❤
