In this week’s vlog, I give you a window into a current situation in my food journey that feels “off” to me … but I’m not yet willing to change it. Sometimes an issue comes up in our lives and we consider addressing it, but ultimately we don’t. Or we don’t yet. Why? It’s a state of not being willing. Using my own situation as an example, I describe a couple of ways to honor this incubation period and dig deeper into what might be going on so that we can stay curious and open to potential change.

I love the visual of being in the hallway. That's where I am and I'm slowly approaching the door. Now I can see myself walking toward it. Feels empowering. Thank you!

You don't know what you are missing. Mindfully eating is so amazing. But you do have to be willing!

Activation energy is exactly the correct term. I deal with this real time every day stopping watching reruns or you tube videos (another of my addictions).

I plan to challenge myself to create a practice of no longer being distracted during eating, sleeping and exercising by putting electronic devices completely out of sight during these activities. It seems like we can't really make a practice of eating slowly or getting a good night's rest for that matter (when ppl try to improve their sleep it always backfires). Both of these seem to be the result of a well lived day/lifestyle. Regarding distractions while eating, I read recently that your brain literally doesn't get a break even if your device is turned upside and you're not using it.

Good vlog. It put me in mind of the song "Look at Miss Ohio" by Gillian Welch which has a great line, " I want to do right, but not right now".

I love the idea of putting my fork down between bites. I can scarf down the food, too. I want to be more conscious and mindful about slowing down in all activities.

To me that fear of empty space sounds like loneliness. Or at least that's what it sometimes feels like when I do the same thing and engage distractions.

I love Wordle and I need to try the others you said! And…I love this whole KZbin video. It spoke to me. I’m 7 days flour and sugar free…. But still struggling to be willing to put a bright line around my meals being only 3 a day. But I’m willing to be willing.
