This is an awesome documentary! I was one of those people walking down sunset in front of the clubs. One night Dokken was playing on a flatbed truck in front of the rainbow I asked him to come and watch a band I was managing called a clockwork Orange, he did super nice guy!

fuck these interviewers, 79-92 is an amazing era for music that has stood the test of time. Were Whitesnake considered talented?! Have you ever heard David Coverdale sing?? Do your damn homework. countless anthems, timeless records, hundreds of millions records sold, and one hell of a ride

He had the nerve to ask if these bands were talented??? Let's see... Guitar players of the 80's - Steve Vai, C.C. DeVille, Reb Beach, Warren Dimartini, Nuno Bettencourt, Richie Sambora, and many more. Not to mention amazing singers that never received the credit they deserved because people were too focused on the image. Jani Lane to me was the most underrated singer of that era. I wish the interviews did their homework first.

Nirvana was just a small piece of the pie. Garth Brooks hit the scene and that was it. Go look at how many Country artists in the 90s hit #1 along with album/concert sales then go look at Nirvana's charts including albums/concert sales before his death. It doesn't even come close to what Country was doing. Guys went to the right where Pantera and Metallica were and the ladies went to the left where the Country Boys were.

@@dennyspinks3582 Garth Brooks & country music have nothing to do with the downfall of 80's Hair Metal or any genre or subgenre of Heavy Metal, Rock, Pop, etc... Country music & fans have always had their own space in music they've relied on over the years my friend. Don't tell me you believe it was the stardom Garth Brooks had in the 90's that made country music so popular. I agree Garth made a powerful impact & influence in country music & music itself altogether that very few artists of any music genre have done in the history of music. However, unlike all the fare weather music fans today. The majority of music fans back in the day were a lot more devoted & loyal to the music & artist's they listened to & supported without wavering. I'm not saying music fans didn't listen to or weren't into anything other than 1 specific genre of music. But they wouldn't all just shlt on the artist's & music they grew up on & have great memories of in their life. Garth Brooks may have had a crazy amount of fans who suddenly did "The Dance" for him & followed his every moment. Still doesn't mean a bunch of "Friends In Low Places" who happened to be Hair Metal fans instantly change their minds to become an overnight country music fan. If that was the case with music fans every time a new sound of music comes out. Then country music would have been gone along time ago when the British Invasion over the pond came to the States back in the 60's. Bands/groups like the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, etc... should of buried country music according to your points of reason. Yet as crazy as it sounds even the Beatles, Hendrix, The Doors, or Elvis couldn't change the minds of faithful country music fans. They just kept on drinking beer & dancing the 2 step to their favorite country music song. Country music was at it's highest peak during the 50's/60's with artists like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, kept on truckin' without a hitch. Plus, the greatest, most iconic Metallica albums & die-hard fans were listening to Metallica way before the decade of the 90's. Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice For All, were all released in the 80's. And as far as Pantera goes, they were lucky they changed their sound, style & genre of music altogether to have the successful music career they had in the 90's. During the 80's no one really knew who Pantera was or wanted to know or listen to them until the 90's came along. Pantera actually started out in the 80's decade as a Glam Metal band. Go take a listen to the first 4 albums Pantera put out. Let's keep it a buck here, cool? 😉 Nirvana definitely changed the game in the world of music during the 90's for sure. But most of the Hair Metal bands didn't need any help from Nirvana or any other grunge band to end their careers, they did it all by themselves. Although there's exceptions to the rule who are considered Hair Metal bands like Warrant, Motley Crue, Skid Row & so on in the 90's who weren't phased at all. Country, Hip-Hop & mainstream Pop music didn't end Hair Metal music either. Just saying... ++Peace, Funk & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul My Friend++ 🤘😎🤘

@@phatbackbeat6553 no instead people listen to trash like Taylor Swift, Bruno mars, Nikki Minaj, Drake, etc…. You tell me who is the modern day George Lynch or Warren DeMartini… who is vocally good in studio and live like Bruce Dickinson or Rob Halford? All artists that play now have no talent. Taylor swift probably uses a lot of backing tracks live, she’s stiff as shit when she dances, and her music is just awful. Regardless of how “cheesy” the hair metal bands songs were, it was about chicks and having a good time.
