My dad had a 47 pick up. It was the first vehicle I drove in the late 60’s. We painted it once with spray paint.

Thanks for all the good information, When i was 15 I bought my first Studebaker PU, A 49 with the 6 cylinder champ engine and the 3 speed on column with a over drive. i made the mistake of selling it and always wished I would have keep it, I later on in life bought a 63 Pu with 6 cly and 3 speed on column with the over drive, It was a good car like truck, Should have keep it also.

I owned three Studebaker sedans in my mid to late teens. I thoroughly enjoyed them all and they were more reliable to me than other brands I've had later. Wish we still had them. Tom

Raymond Loewy was just brilliant. Besides trucks, he designed their Champion streamlined coupe for '53, and later the Avanti. A great industrial designer.

I love Studebakers, think my dad made a living towing for Mil-motors driving a 1947 Studebaker tow truck. Can you possibly find any pictures of one? I do have one existing picture of his tow truck with me and my brother standing by it in the 1950’s.

Hey if a builder makes them and you report it, if some people don't like it, tough, they can do their own videos. Best wishes, stay safe and warm.

Could have bought a '64 in the eighties but didn't have the cash. The 6 cylinder engine was there but had been pulled, remember the sliding back glass and chrome bumpers. Darn.

59 napco looks bad to the bone,I didn't realize how innovative Studebaker really was.And my Dad said they were good trucks.

Amazing review! Any chance you know how many 1950 Studebaker 2r5 pickups were produced? Having no luck with a breakdown by year when I stumbled upon your awesome video. New subscriber! 🍻

Good job. I was one of the ones who “complained “, there were no . Trucks in your other videos. While I did appreciate the history - especially some of which that others miss [ ie: their stint with Pierce-Arrow], The title mentioned trucks. This (Part - 4), is excellent. [ just a little hard to follow, as the speaker speaks near like an Auctioneer(😂), rattling off all the info.]. 📻😁❗️👍☑️

The truck identified as a 59 Scotsman isn't. The Scotsman used the older style grille. The NAPCO four wheel drive setup was a good one. Studebaker had some head troubles with their OHV six but the V-8 was amazingly stout. Good trucks overall. Unfortunately, the trucks were neglected for years and near the end lacked some features that would have improved sales greatly in my opinion. As examples: a wide bed tooled for the Studebaker rather than the Dodge box used and a fully independent coil spring front end for the 1/2 ton models. They were good trucks and only suffered from the same lack of capital as other independents.
