This is a criminally underrated bike and a fantastic value for money. The GSX-S series is honestly better than it should be, and even at budget pricing still showing how refined their technology already was a decade ago. The US has the standard in one color, and the Z trim in a matte color, and then ABS variants of each add two more colors. Depends on the year, as they also seem to skip years due to low sales.

Great review. Always liked the GSX-S and the 2021 model is on my shortlist at the moment. My biggest concern like you mentioned was the high footrests. I'm 183cm with 31-32 inside seam. The dealership said that there are adjustable footrests available for this bike that lower to about an inch so this could be a lifeline for taller people. Great value bike if your on a budget. Great review Scott.

Sit on one to be sure - I have a 30-31" inseam and am very comfortable. I had the same concern. In the end, the whole rider triangle is comfortable while putting you in a good position to control the machine. It isn't a sportbike crouch though. I came from a hypermotard, and adapted in about 3 minutes - LOL

Nice review. I test rode one of these when I was shifting from an Sv650. I also tested lots of other bikes, including the gsxs1000 and the s1000r (which I bought). I preferred the gsxs750 over the gsxs1000, and found the latter had more of an abrupt throttle than the former. That said, it was a close comparison between the two Suzukis, and while I absolutely love my BMW I think the “get what you pay for” Suzukis are both stellar motos and they will be less costly to maintain than the premium options. I reckon either would make a great base for a very quick cafe racer project...

I bought the 2020 version of this bike recently after swearing I would get the mt07. You do get a lot of bang for your buck. Front brakes and suspension are really good (at least for me ) and the price. Rear brakes are “eh” The intake sound is amazing. Defiantly agree with it being a bit top heavy but once she gets moving, no issues. Great review on your part. Specially by constantly reminding people of the value. There are many bikes that are better in a lot of ways but you will really have to pay a premium for it. I do not regret my choice. Throttle is a bit choppy tho at 1st and 2nd gear

I bought one of these six months ago in 🇦🇺. I had mine on the road and comprehensivly insured for $11k. Great bang for your buck. Since then i done some changes. A K & N air filter, Yoshi Alpha T exhaust, power commander and quick shifter. The dyno shows 116hp at the wheel with 5000km on the odometer. It will go to 120hp when it loosens uo a bit more. It is a real hoot to ride especially with the quickshifter. Big power and torge gains for a not so big investment. It makes a great daily ride. Your review Sir is on the mark for this bike👍. With gsxr cams thus bike would get 130 to 135 hp on the wheel.... turbocharging would cost another $10k 🇦🇺 and would get well over 200hp at the wheel. The guy that done the work for me done a gsxr 750 with a turbo and it went 257hp at the wheel. Check out S & R Pro motorcycles on facebook.

Amongst all the nakeds, I still say the Kawasaki Z series ie the Z800, Z900 and Z1000 are stunning, it looks macho with the transformer head lamp and a fatty fuel tank, what more with the very reasonableprice it offers compared to its competitors. That should be the style and design of super muscle naked, meant for fun, easy and happy riding, daily use in towns and cities along the winding conering hilly roads. It is not for racing or on track, as the RR versions in all the brands are already meant for track.

Re. the on/off throttle you complain about: you were riding it below 3k RPM in 4th gear at 50kph, even my V-twin SV650 would complain about that, and it's even more of an issue with a de-tuned 4 cylinder engine from a sports bike. I'd say ride it in 3rd gear in this situation and it should be fine.
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
Hi SV650, well, there were many many other times and many other different scenarios that this happens. I shoot a few hours of video and only 5 to 10 mins make it into the video.
@amoore21654 жыл бұрын
I have this same bike and the very bottom throttle snatchiness is mostly an issue in first gear at very low speeds. Like making a u-turn or a low speed neighborhood 90 degree curve. It’s a little too on/off or abrupt and it unsettles the bike and makes it lurch. I’m a motocross racer so it’s not a matter of having good throttle control. It’s the only real complaint I have about the bike. Otherwise it’s fantastic. I’ve gotten used to it I guess but I still don’t like it.
@anxiousappliance2 жыл бұрын
I agree - compared to a high compression twin - this thing is smooth. It also has a super nice clutch with plenty of engagement area for modulation. The only thing I notice is some driveline lash if you cut the throttle and jam it back on - but that's really you (and me), not the bike.

How is the handlebar vibration? Many reviewers do not mention this and it is one of the most important aspects of a motorcycle I look at. If it's buzzy and puts my fingers to sleep then nothing else matters, it gets scratched off my list of potential bikes to buy. I'm also interested in how the bike performs at 75mph, as that is the speed limit in my state. (although most go over that speed) Thanks for your interesting videos, and your unique style!
@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Louis. The handlebar vibration is minimal, as I really didn't notice much, if any at all, at least it did not get my attention. As with any naked bike, at highway speeds there's a lot of wind hitting you on the chest, I'd add a windshield to push the wind up off my chest. Ride safe, Scott

@NothingToProve5 жыл бұрын
I like the looks and motor of the Shiver better and the ergos are much better too, especially the leg room but the weight is 5 kg more than this. MSRP is about 1k difference in price but you could probably get a better deal on the 750, so the cost difference is probably more than 1k difference. More like 1.5 to 2 k difference. But with that said, I'd get the Shiver :) Both are good bikes, one is just main stream and the other is of course Italian.

Always like your low key honest reviews. The GSX-S 750 got my money this year. For the very reasons you stated. Love the look (gets compliments regularly) and the performance for the dollar was unbeatable. LOVE the engine. I do wish it had a color TFT but eh. I also agree with the one criticism and was glad to hear you said the same thing...the very bottom of the throttle is a little too snatchy, a little too on/off, especially when I first got it it was a little disconcerting. I’ve gotten used to it I guess but it’s the one thing I don’t like. I got the 2020 white and burgundy version...atypical and sweet looking color combo. I did a lot of research before deciding on one. I really wanted the Indian FTR 1200 race replica but there was just no way I could justify $8,000 to $17,000. Plus the Suzuki is very reliable and proven as well. It’s a great bike at a great price. Strange, I just made a typo correction and the creators Like disappeared. ☹️ At least good to know you saw the comment.

Thanks Morgan, generally first impressions stay true and usually (bad impressions) get worse over time, especially with bikes. So don't ignore some thing like that just because you like the bike or because it's a good deal, you'll end up selling it later for a bike that has more leg room and end up spending more money down the road. I'm talking from personal experience here. Back in my younger years I got a Ninja ZX-6R for the occasional track day and it was so tucked that "occasional" track day became "exclusive" track day bike. And I was only doing a few track days a year then. So after 2 years, sold it and lesson learned. Ride safe, Scott

Looks like there was some road racing going on there recently because of the protective barriers.
@NothingToProve4 жыл бұрын
Yea, there was, it's a great Stretch or road, but the only problem is the speed limit is 50kpm. :(

Really enjoyed your review. Btw what trousers are you wearing?

Thank you Szymon, those are Trilobite Parado pants. Very light and great for hot weather. Ride safe, Scott

I have 2 other criticisms. The side stand could be better and not that crappy stamped steel bargain stand and they should increased the rev limit by 250 RPMs since you wanna hear that growl for longer and the limiter hits too soon. Other than that, just small tweaks here and there and it would be a great bike instead of just a good bike.

Watched the review again. The bike is aimed the budget oriented, naked, middle weight person. Wont go visual on that...

It's a great bike at a fair price. No need to get fetishistic about it. BMW based their i4 on this engine and would be happy to charge you a whole lot more, and I'm sure they found a way to suck some joy out of it.

The Hand movements explaining are a bit irritating since they get repetitive and seem like you try a bit too hard

Sorry, my mother is deaf, so I have gotten used to using my hands when I talk, it's hard to shut it "off", at least I'm not doing sign language. 😁

@@NothingToProve I see, no worries then. I Hope your mother is healthy despite being deaf ;)

Funny, most naked-bike fans I know think the S750 is the best looking of them all (MT09, Z800, Street tripple, etc)
