Went for a test ride on the 2024 GT Pro. Loved it so much, I bought it on the spot! 820mm at lowest setting perfect for my 5'7" height. I put a bash plate on as well, as I like exploring gravel roads from time to time. Perfectly capable on gravel roads and with 106hp an absolute blast on tarmac. My perfect bike! With the heated seat and grips, quick shifter and cruise control. A well balanced bike that is a pleasure to ride with confidence on the twisty roads with more than enough quick power response when you need it. What's not to love!

Great to see you did a review on this bike. It is in my top list, together with the Norden 901 Expedition and the standard, manual Africa Twin. First week of April I will rent all those bikes for a day each. Already stoked to see, which one I will like most. All three of them are the best looking adventure bikes, in my opinion of course. So visually impossible to decide 😀. I have a feeling, it will come down to the best deal I can get and the service costs.

Great review, Scott. I rode my old buddy’s Tiger 900 Rally in the US and really liked its low down grunt and ability to pull high gears sub 2,000 rpm. I tried one home in the UK but didn’t like the buzz from the engine caused by the crank design. A triple should be silky smooth yet this wasn’t. You’ve got me thinking about giving it another try. My 890 Adventure is (for me) cramped with the seat to footrest distance too low. I also get a buzz through the bars and pegs.
@donkeizluv7 ай бұрын
Triumph puts a Tplane triple in their ADV triples. Its actually the real crossplane by definition compared to the smooth triple of Yamaha and those 765. This adds huge character into the engine. The old screamer triple is too smooth too sterile for ADV riding it makes it almost boring to ride

Like the New gen Tiger, but I'm just a casual rider that enjoys taking small trips and very lite duty off road, so the 3500-6k savings on a slightly used 22 or leftover 23 might be my best option or should I go for the 24?

This is a very well engineered solution on the competition segment, very hybrid proposal. An off road bike that improves the general quality but very consistent on the road utility tools of it. These bikes are becoming each time more and more road oriented. Would it be a choice for the both best things in the world ? Excellency on road and on off road behavior?

I think the weight in the comparison table is a little unfair to the triumph, the Aprilia is listed at it's dry weight and the Triumph lists the rally pro at a fully wet weight. Fuel, oil and coolant would add close to 20kg fully fuelled and ride ready. I'm thinking either of these bike may be my next, any thoughts guys?
@NothingToProve5 ай бұрын
Nope, all bike weights are wet from the OEM. Now you can say that one OEM is cheating but that's a different discussion. They all have to conform to the same set of rules.
@peterwallace63715 ай бұрын
@NothingToProve that's weird because the weight you list for Aprilia tuareg is quoted as the dry weight here in Australia. I would be rapt if you're correct because I'm learning towards the Aprilia anyway and if 204kg is wet weight, even better. Cheers

Still have to wonder, for 90% of normal riding, what makes the “Pro” better than the 850?
@Adventure_blac7 ай бұрын
850 is more based on the gt pro. So besides all the extra features the pro has increased suspension travel. The gt pro has the electronic suspension pre load adjustment. Having said that heated grips, seat, and turn by turn nav are worth it. Pulse auxiliary lights. I thinks it’s worth for the increased livability vs cost/time to add
@briangc19727 ай бұрын
I looked at them last week. Biggest differences are the Showa suspension and the electronics package; dash, cruise, heated grips, heated seats. The Showa suspension is by far the best OEM suspension I ever rode (comparing enduro bikes, scramblers, and adv bikes). If Triumph could fix the vibration (it's still there in the new engine), reduce the heat issues (the newer engine is even worse than the previous engine), and improve the user interface on the dash (very not intuitive, toggle switch is exposed and seems gimmicky) I would buy it.
@Adventure_blac7 ай бұрын

Cracking review, like all you have done so far! Thumbs down for calling these bikes 'ADV' though, that makes no sense at all! Another stupid virus that plagues the internet 😞 Agree about the wind protection too, and it's oddly much better than that on the 1200 Rally Pro, even though the 1200 has a bigger screen. Maybe the airflow is smoother on the 900, but it feels noticeably more effective.

I have never bought a brand new bike, but this one could be the first. It ticks all the boxes for me.
