Smart Thai ladies from E-Sarn a lot, 555 like Paige/Pukky,She got 2 degrees from the U.S. and her family are well off in Thatpanom. Young Thai students go to Medical School at Khonken University. They are some from the paddy field who does not want to study and get into working in the manufacture like SEAGATE(huge town) in Korat but some go to work in Pattaya or Phuket. Human life is all the same, life is long learning.

Hi Chuck and Paige and Mum, nice to see your mum is getting along very well she is surprisingly very easy to adept and leave America behind, good on her, your comments about life in Thailand and what people's perceptions are can't be learned and understood from U tube vlogs there are only a few that really show life in rural, outside major cities. Currently we are in Ba paving in Petchabun and life shown on U tube are as far away from reality than the Sahara desert is from Antarctica here people all but a few struggle to make a living very sober basic living standards and very little pay some girls are just forced to go to bars and all that's part of that scene to support the family. In a way, while showing us your travels and living circumstances you are always more touristic than most people and good on you even you family in Thailand are well off too but I see some completely different realities. I enjoy your vlogs very much and don't try to criticise but real rural daily life in Thailand is very different have a safe time and travels

I am married to a beautiful Thai lady who I met in the States over thirty years ago. I have been going to Thailand since 2003, spending a month or more every visit. I was fortunate that I could work in Thailand for small periods of time since I worked as a software quality analyst and needed only a fast internet connection In 2016 I retired and now spend 4 months of the year in Thailand. In all the time I have been going to Thailand only one time did I experience the beer bars and that was in Khon Kaen, not Bangkok. In my experience Thai women are hard-working and are employed in different lines of work, the bar girls are a very small minority and in fact, most of my wife's friends in Khon Kaen own their own businesses.

The question was - Why are Isaan ladies the majority who go to Pattaya? But got the answer -most young women go to college. Which is obvious. Khon Khen is the most farang densely populated city in Thailand and close behind Udon. Cities in Isaan. Don't think the farang goes up to Udon/ Khon khen and finds his woman there. Why that is requires a long exposition here, I say as Chuck - come here and seek the answer yourself.

Chuck it was my doctor that mentioned the ice. You should see all the don’t do’s they gave me. Don’t eat in outside markets or the floating markets. I ask why (food poisoning) I laughed told him I have eaten here in California and gotten sick 😂

I have had food poisoning 3 times, once in New Mexico, once in California and once in Oregon. I have lived in Thailand for 15 years and have never had any kind of problem with the food here in Thailand and I eat in outdoor food stalls almost every day.

First time in Thailand a month ago stayed 3 weeks. Went to BKK Pattaya Chiang Mai Golden Triangle Mae Hong Son Mae Sot River Kwai Hua Hin PKK Ranong Khao Lak finishing in Phuket. Spoke to various people who’d been several times. Asked where they’d gone. Just Phuket was the answer.

I think the minimum wage in Thailand is 300 baht ($9.00) a day. The girls in Pattaya make quite a bit more than that, they make enough to help their families buy food and pay for school tuition and supplies. Some of the girls get Western men to help them out also.

As Chuck says, many young people travel from Essan to study and/or work in every field of life. Restaurants, Factories, Post/Mail, delivery drivers, Taxi/MBikeTaxi, Construction, Musicians, Shopping Malls and everything in between etc and have done for many years. The 'Adult Entertainment' section is just a small'ish part. Whilst the 'Family Farms' usually provide a constant of sustenance, they have good and bad years financially (profit-wise) which often doesn't provide enough spare money for big purchases for the family or farm and especially for young couples to buy their own farm (or expand the family farm which is often quite small), so they go where the money is. IIRC Samut Sakhon is where the Dec 2020 wet market / Fish processing outbreak started that caused the shutting down of TH in early 2021. I haven't visited but I don't think it's much of a tourist destination but like all TH, it'll be interesting and the people will be nice.

Hey Chuck and Paige and Mom, what a nice double bedroom room and only 1,300 baht hard to beat that. Korat is the second largest city in Thailand as far as I know. I lived there for most of my time in Thailand and it is a very good place to walk. I used to walk for 2 hours a day with 3 stops. Once at the center plaza, once at my friends bakery and once at the Mall. All nice and flat, that is provided you walk in the street. Lol It is one of my pet peeves that the sidewalks are at different levels. They have let the people decide what the sidewalks in front of their businesses look like. One person will have no title but the next one will raise it by 3 inches. It drives me crazy so I walk in the street if I can. Be safe my friends.

Nobody gives a damn about notime2bsad. HAHAHA! I understand what you mean. The main places you see on KZbin are popular tourist towns and the bar streets. It does get boring quick, and I feel it disrespects Thailand because no country is just a nonstop party scene. Every country has a culture, a history, and a life outside the gogo bars and clubs. Looking back on when I left China, I'm laughing at my own misconceptions. I only knew Bangkok for the party scene on media and the song by Murray Head (along with Mike Tyson singing it in Hangover 2). There's a lot more to Thailand. It just depends on if people have the stomach to seek out opportunities and be patient waiting for a response that may not come. Have to have self discipline to draw a line so you don't drown in a sea of addictions.
