I actually love the fact that Eva's leg was an illusion. It is a strong commentary on how sometimes the biggest struggle people with disability have to face is how they r percieved by others. As for why Zim was able to take Rayla's ribbon off, think abt it. He is the Dragon Prince, representer of Xadia, the thing Rayla was sworn to avenge. So of course he has the power to let Rayla off her oath, because in a way that oath was to him. That makes so much thematic sense and is so beatiful in my opinion.

Oh that actually makes a lot of sense! I thought it was just because dragons were powerful enough to over power the bind, and the fact that even as he was just born he was able to pull it off when it’s been shown and stated multiple times in the previous episodes that “nothing can take this stupid bind off!”, it was a display of his great power.

@@lightningbolt9155 Yeah, it definitely was that to. As for the "nothing can take that binding off" that was the interpretation of Rayla. I think the binding this whole season was another example of how the actions we took in the past may hurt our present. It is a big theme of the show. The "nothing can remove it" part states that we can't just pretend like the past didn't happen, while Zim removing it represents the fact that past can be attoned for if we do the right thing for the right people. Rayla was seeking redemption, and in that moment she got it. At least partially.

It's adorable, but as someone who had a three legged dog for a long time, they can live fine and wonderful lives, but they also walk in a very distinct manner and Eva not walking like that takes me out of the story every time. I get past it and love the story. But every time I go "that's not how Oscar walked".

@@lightningbolt9155 Issue is that someone is riding on Eva's upper back, and with a front leg missing the upper back goes up and down a lot because they have to sort of hop with that part. It's not a big issue, more funny when I imagine someone riding on back that did that sort of bouncing.

Here is something you can already tell. Dragons are the most powerful magical creatures in the world so the fact that Zym was able to break Rayla's band is proof that Dragons are powerful when they are young.

Makes sense but I always just saw it as symbolic of her oath. Rayla bound herself to killing Ezran to avenge Zym's death. However by saving Zym's life, see ended up fulfilling the contract. Moon magic is all about illusions and interpretation so it would make sense the bindings could be undone in different ways.

16:44 The funny thing about this picture is that in episode 5 ,I think, there's a picture of a younger Soren doing a pushup with bait on his back and then in a later episode there's a picture of Soren doing a pushup with Ezran on his back and now here is a picture of Soren failing to do a pushup with Claudia, Callum and Ezran on his back. It's a really nice detail that they added And I also love that sometimes just these small images in the end credits make up while scenes that happened during the episode but weren't shown

Rayla's wristband was bound by her oath to kill Ezran to avenge the death of the Dragon Prince. Since the Dragon Prince now lives, there's no need for vengeance and the oath becomes void. I think that's a really nice way to resolve it! Also, I love that Claudia is cunning, dangerous, and elegant -- and is _also_ a dorky gremlin with a terrible sense of humor. The fact that she can be all of those things at once makes for a fascinating character!

First off, love the hair. Second, I noticed this via rewatching this with you but back when Eva was shown as a puppy, after her leg was "cured" there is a moment she walks where she kinds hobbles in a way you'd expect a dog with three legs to walk. Just a neat detail to see in retrospect!

Zym was able to break Rayla's band because the entire reason it was still on her was because Ezran was still alive. He was meant to be killed as revenge for the death of the Dragon Prince, aka Zym. But since Zym is now alive, there's no need for the revenge.

while people have already brought up the "dragons are powerful" reasoning for zym removing rayla's band, I would also like to bring up another point: the band was part of the moonshadow elves' oath to kill the human king and the human prince, in exchange/revenge for the lives of the dragon king and prince that had been lost. by rescuing and hatching zym, ensuring his survival, they've effectively nullified the demand for ezran's life. zym ripping off the ribbon is a show of his power as much as it is a metaphorical representation of rayla being 'freed' from her oath. its such a neat little metaphorical detail that legitimately took me _years_ to pick up on haha
