Working on my family tree this weekend, found quite a lot of relatives living in and around this are, I’d looked Noton up on Google maps because I hadn’t a clue where it was. Very nice little tour round the village, looks a very nice place👍

Where is Tipsy in Notton located. My great great grandfather was born in Tipsy in Notton in 1788 and my great grandfather in Tipsy Lodge, Staincross in 1824. My grandfather was born in Royston in 1863 and my father in Wakefield in 1900. All my father's family lived in the area surrounding and closely linked to Hemsworth and Warmfield. Patrick Whitaker

Another diverting 15 mins, thanks, you do this really well. I’ve cycled this area quite extensively. The Barnsley canal is actually filled with water from south of Wintersett and Cold Hiendley reservoirs down to Royston along the TPT. It’s rather lovely in places.
