THANK YOU for this awesome back workout! I had scoliosis with a spinal fusion when I was 14. I'm now almost 30 and have lived with weak back muscles for over half my life. Until this video I had not found a good workout for my back that I felt was effective and didn't leave me hurting (in a bad way) for days afterward. I can already tell my back is loving these moves!!

As you said, it’s really important for women to train back- and as I store most of my fat there, I really like to do at least an extra 25 min back workout during the week (apart from my regular upper body day when I don’t do more than 2 back exercises). This intense back workout is the MOTHER of all other back workouts. For me, it is never easy, but I love the feeling when I am done. I am doing it 4 times a week and I've been doing it for one month. In four more weeks, I will see how my back looks. I promised myself I wouldn't check my back in two months. June 27, 2023.

in the warm up I got a pleasant surprise when I really felt yesterday's push work out in my pecs and triceps during the tap and pull move... I am doing this week's challenge a little out of sequence. Anyhow.... usually I really feel leg workouts more than upper body workouts as a result they aren't my favourite. Love working out the legs as it is easier to feel the work and strength. Well with this split week workouts I really feel my upper body more than normal. Great week of workouts Lindsey! as always thanks:)

Brilliant Back workout Lindsey!!!! The way you put the exercises together I found I was able to work to maximum and avoid getting that lower lumbar fatigue pain that causes me to put flex and extend my spine in weird ways..... I felt no spine/back discomfort at all!!! Bravo for your back sequence!

My back really needed strengthening. I had eye surgeries these past 2 years and had to stop working out because of asthma. Im just starting to gain my strength back. 25 mins is perfect amount of time to rebuild strength.

Hi! I'm so happy you found your way here! Both the single arm back row and narrow back row primarily work the lats but the single arm row is a unilateral exercise (works one side of the body at a time) which really engages the entire back, shoulders, and arms as well!

So I love this, {all} your workouts! However, what can I do to help/strengthen my less dominant arm? My left is much “weaker” than my right and I do go heavy on both when I can. I try to keep it balanced at all times. I mainly noticed it when we were doing the last move of “opening the newspaper” and my left arm was struggling to go up evenly with my right. Does that make sense? I was only using 5s at this point because I noticed the difference and didn’t want to over do myself with my 10s

This is normal - we all have a weaker side. That's why I love unilateral training (training one side at a time so you can really focus on the side you are working). I would suggest alternating flys -- fly right arm, then left arm so you can focus on one arm at a time!

I love this workout! Only thing that messes me up is I don’t know if your going to fast or just mixing up the reps but I never get in 12. I get 10 or 9 or sometimes 11. Otherwise great workout.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! Everyone's pace will be a little different -- you can stick with me and do as many reps as you get in during that time period OR do 12 reps for each yourself!

I am wondering if you have any recommendations to work the same muscles but without bending over. I'm finding I am using the wrong muscles and ending up my hip and low back feeling unstable the next day. I need a way to isolate my back so it can get stronger to do these upright. Do you have a video that goes through more modifications, or any exercises I can look up online as a transitional to getting back to this one?

I recommend training ~3 days a week for beginners and doing a workout like this once a week to give your muscles time to repair! How often should you lift to build muscle?

It all depends on what your personal goals are but in general I do strength training 3-5 days a week, alternating muscle groups so your body gets a chance to rest + recover in between! I hope that helps!

So I don't know what your name is lady but I found you on CNN back workouts and I realized it is nice to have a nice looking back so you can have cute shirts that show your back or dresses or the back is just as beautiful as a front and I'm at a place where I am trying to get rid of my love handles I'm at my goal weight. I had a baby 9 months ago and my troubles zones is my hips and my core from my dad side most women I guess worry about their other parts of the body but for me it's my abs my lower abs and my love handles so I think I'm doing better with eating I'm not strict about it but I feel that I am more strict than I was before and I want to say thank you for the CNN thing because I didn't really think that back was a big deal and now that I see that it's actually fun to work the back I tried to do a lot of ab.s. exersises according to Arnold Schwarzenegger's advice of 200 a day I do try to get them 200 a 200 a day whan i do my abs they are and you can't spot reduce but I do like to use my 10 lb is heavy as i have .weights r expensive. and I also like whatever your name is lady I like your content I love how you explain what the moves are doing for us and I said oh dang imma do this all the time I want to get a nice looking back and I really want to work on my abs my that waistline I want that V look or at least I want to see what my body can do how my body can change... I noticed and disciplining ourselves in one area you want do all areas so you're even out
