Of course, you know why, Djoko had to let out his Anger somehow, and he did it by destroying the Racket. Everybody have ways to let out the Anger. It's not good for keeping that Anger inside of you. All those people who say about Djokos breaking Racket is bad behavior, they aren't even humans.

Djokovic's most difficult match in slams this year, so far. I know he went to 5 sets against Fritz, Tsitsipas and Musetti but I always flt like he was in control of the match. Against Zverev he rarely has the keys, he depends on Zverev's UE. Zverev was up 4-1 in the last 2 sets. It's a miracle Djokovic finished it in 4. I know Zverev isn't the most popular player but in a good day, if anyone can outplay Djokovic in a tennis match this year, it's him.

I get what you are saying and mostly agree. However, it's possible that Djokovic cannot let go of this bad habit without letting go of the competitive/perfectionist attitude which made him such an incredible and accomplished tennis player. Djokovic does not smash racquets out of anger towards his opponent or anyone else. He smashes it out of anger at himself for not playing his best tennis. That perfectionist attitude pushes him to always improve his game and is why he has been so successful. The racquet smashing is the negative thing that goes with this. I agree though that he should do everything in his power to try to get rid of this bad habit. I'm just saying that he might have already tried to get rid of this habit but failed because he realized that it is a part of him, a flaw that he must sacrifice to get the most out of his game.

"insulting the ref and nobody will notice" => No, insulting the ref will usually lead to an immediate ejection in e.g. basketball or football, so yeah, it's punished quite severely. Tim Duncan was once ejected for laughing towards the ref without saying anything. Smashing the racket is considered disrespectful because it disacknowledges the strength of your opponent until that point in the match. It's quite amazing that Nadal has never done it but almost everybode else (including Novak and Roger) did it several times. It's poor sportsmanship to do such racquet abuse, but that was really a calculated ploy to break the other players momentum. Look at how he takes his time to select his replacement. I mean how else in a tennis do you get such a pause mid game, while the other player is serving no less?
@pacifist13603 жыл бұрын
As long as Djokovic is within the rules, there is nothing wrong with that. I agree with you on the fact that Novak breaking a racket can be used in favor to shift his momentum from the opponent by taking his time to change rackets. That's actually a good strategy to help him win the match and it releases his frustration at the same time to collect his energy and play more aggressive and in better control during the rallies. Great strategy actually to break his racket when the game doesn't go his way. This helps him refocus. Him getting a racket abuse code violation simply means he won't do it again during that match but breaking the racket once during the match is fine as long as it helps him elevate his game. Some people believe racket abuse is poor sportsmanship - I don't really see an issue here if he does it once during the match.

Although I like him as a player and is one of the greatest players ever but his behavior is evident that he lacks the class of champions with character like Borg, Rod laver, Nadal and Federer. He did get respect though but unfortunately and sadly a player of his caliber is unable to manage his cool which is quiet surprising to see after watching how he has responded to his rivals like Rafa and Roger under pressure situations. I really wish and pray for him to keep a steady head even if he doesn't play well.

I understand to Djoker. They are his emotions, his rackets and his way of relaxation. Notice, he remains calm. Each of us is different. I am doing it the same way. (Throw with racket only :)). It helps me. Sport is not dancing lessons. And who cares western crowd, especially anglosas? We can see his terrible behavior! Remember final Wimbledon 2019 and USO every year!

@@denisdaly1708 False. They have played 3 times in a semi or final but Zverev has won only 2 of them. Djokovic won 1 of them: the 2018 Shanghai Masters semifinal. Furthermore, they have played twice in Grand Slams (the most important tennis tournaments) and Djokovic has won both of those meetings. They do have a competitive rivalry but Djokovic definitely has the edge and Zverev definitely isn't Djokovic's kryptonite.

Zverev is becoming stan for joker. Guys who play fearless risk free tennis and go for winners beat joker. Stan played like that and zverev occasionally goes in same direction. Zverev has some mental blocks that affect his game otherwise hes gonna win a slam in near future ie 2022
