When it comes to Martial Arts, people always want to know if it works and is it real(istic) and the only way to know for sure is to test it (and yourself). Sifu Novell Bell and his art has been tried and tested. From the vicious underground fights held secretly in New York’s Chinatown to China itself, Sifu Novell (The Black Taoist) is one of the rare few that can truly say that he has “been to The Wall and Back”.

I have the feeling many of the masters here and their devoted disciples are still actively doing these martial sciences today, but they have them so sacredly guarded they would never allow them to be mainstreamed.

Also, (Jailhouse)rock is a technique in the 52,not the same. There's a big misconception/ deception between the 2. Peace 7

Brilliant and very informative. Reminds me of my late Sifu who would say ancient Ken Fat is bloody and if you're not cheating you're not surviving.

That's something very strange to write and think. If it makes deep better then keep thinking it

Nothing "strange" to those that know. Obviously you don't. "If it makes deep better..."? What?

The 2 times I met real unknown masters was one who trained in the original African Samurai arts and original ancient Kung Fu from the beginning of the first Asiatic tribes.Both told me essentially the same thing, you need to feel how real the art is. By touching the hair follicles of my hand I could feel my blood, metal, marrow, and water in my body starting to bend.That’s when I found the sport of MMA I was training to be a waste of time. Sadly I only met these gentlemen on a couple of brief occasions, due to them being as elderly as they were (well into their later 90’s) I didn’t get the luxury of being their martial disciple.

What do you mean "Ghetto"? This is definitely "honorary".
@thinmannventures
@thinmannventures 4 ай бұрын
Although I don't think you meant that as a compliment, that's exactly what it was; a compliment and a verification. You see, all martial arts started in somebody's 'ghetto' because the rich and the well to do had no real need for it (like how boxing use to be called 'the poor boys game'). All martial arts, from anywhere in the world -and at any time in history- starts from a period of strife and violence and from a people's need to defend and survive. It is never pretty and cleaned up in its infancy. It is only when things calm down and the society becomes peaceful that those that are in a better position (of safety) begin to "study the arts" (and use words like 'honorary').
