I think the two sofas make the room look cozy and inviting. The room looks much more comfortable and less stuffy. If you can’t comfortably sit in the chairs and watch tv and relax it makes much more sense to have the two sofas. Love it!

I think the two sofas work and look really cozy. If it was my room, I'd skip the plush ottomans and swap it for something a bit more narrow (like an antique-y wooden bench). I think that would balance out the space a bit more, but you guys need to do whatever is most comfortable for you.

Think your mum is right with the green ottoman in living room, the cream one is a bit big plus very same in colour. Not keen with it in the garage, bit too cluttered. I know when I start getting a bit wonky in my feels, the first thing I wanna do is take a nice hot bath with epsom salt.. it’s relaxing and rejuvenating at the same time and allows me to just breathe! Your room so do you however if it was my room I would take out the old sofa, put the 2 chairs opposite the new sofa, place them at an angle which will show the radiator possibly room for a small table in between them then, the ottoman can be moved further away from the new sofa

Maybe you can set up a little recycling station with some bins to help with feeling overwhelmed or like it’s cluttered? Pinterest has loads of ideas and I feel really inspired to set up one myself

Personally I love the traditional style and colour of the green ottoman, but I can understand choosing comfort over aesthetics. How about switching the blanket on the green sofa for a different colour or pattern? I just love the pattern mixing you have in that room and now it’s quite a lot of plain cream

I also love the thrill of changing furniture around! Sadly my husband doesn’t so I’m not allowed to do it anymore :( We have a F&B de nimes kitchen and it’s lovely - definitely a blue not a grey. I think one of the stronger colours would be nice. Kittiwake is named after a seabird, pronounced kit-ee-wayk :)

My suggestion for the living room would be to a) yes, remove the piano, b) lower the mirror and create a gallery wall around it to fill the space (it now looks too small with the new sofa), c) keep the old footstool to add contrast (the 'new' one makes the room look too matchy-matchy in style and colour), and then d) use the remaining two modular seats to create a smaller sofa opposite, and move the old sofa to the office instead.

I would use your 2 chairs. The couch takes up too much room with your new one. Plus, 2 different styles don't look good together. Do you or Alex play the piano? If not, I'd find a new place for it. Love the style you had in this room. Reminds me of a English cottage.

I also have a small living room but opted for an 8-foot off-white sofa. I love it. It depends on how much seating you want to have in the living room. If that's your priority, then keep both sofas. Having lots of little pieces can make a room look like a dollhouse. I think the new, bigger sofa makes the room look larger, ironically.

Ditch the little sofa put the chairs back or one chair get a tray for the white ottoman. It's too crowded with the two sofas. I used to rearrange my mum's house while I was cleaning when I was young, she would come home from work and move it all back again.

You could make the sofa go right along the wall and put the 2 end pieces along the wall. Some red in a plant or cushions (paisley) or a rug would look warm and the Christmas tree would look good in there. Huge plant or life needed.

You could remove the ottoman and replace it with a narrower vintage wooden bench. Then you would be able to move the smaller couch at least a few inches away from the radiator and the curtains would hang properly. The wooden bench would add warmth and you would have more space to walk. Also, your beautiful rug would be more visible. Whatever you do, I know that it will be beautiful and comfortable. ❤

Hi, loving the new sofa in your living room💙 as you have asked for thoughts, mine would be… I would definitely put those gorgeous blue striped chairs back instead of the original sofa, as you’ve said they are comfortable they allow a view out of your beautiful sash windows ( my absolute favourite part of your lovely home along with the kitchen window seat) your lovely curtains would once again showcase the room giving you comfort, warmth & style, put the other sofa in your office, piano would look lovely in your ‘snug’ where the bike is and the green storage footstool maybe look nice in either the pink or green bedroom giving you storage too.. win win. Love Diary of a CEO - some brilliant guests. I have been cooking from scratch now and dairy free since January. My physical and mental health are both so much better, I have at least 4 meals a week meat free and feel really good. In January I'll tackle my weight, this year I'm making sure I'm as healthy as possible. I agree no food is off the menu it's just the amounts we need to watch which is how, hopefully, next year I'll loose weight.

Once we took a door frame off to move an armoir and found out later that the armoir could have been easily taken apart and moved out. Our cozy little TV room has a blue velvet couch for me to stretch out on and a leather recliner for my husband. It's our happy place.

Two sofa's look too much and makes your lounge look so small . I think you should bring the chairs back in and the curtains won't look squashed , put a blanket over the back of the new sofa to break up the light colour and protect the back x

Instead of another table it would look amazing with a tall cabinet with glas doors or open tall shelving like a book case style furniture for your favourite items. A gallery wall behind the sofa with that pretty mirror incorporated.

Get the old sofa into rhe office, keep the chairs near the window and move the piano to the garage. Add a table on each side of the new sofa and a tall reading lamp on the side where the piano was. It will be beautifil! Oh, and keep the old otoman so it looks more ecletic 😊

I would hang the mirror vertically so the bottom edge of the mirror sits lower to the sofa and hang two pictures either side of the mirror, the mirror would appear lower and you won't have to worry about re-decorating :) xx

When washing the covers but them back on when they are still a little damp. They are strechier damp so will be easier to put on and they will shink when they dry and be perfectly molded around the couch

I think the chairs look better vs both couches. Because you won’t be using the other couch anyway. You’ll both lounge on the bigger more comfortable couch. And the chairs look less intrusive and someone could sit in the chair to read or something by the window.

27:52 Comfort is so key in a home! I have an absolutely huge couch that takes up most of my living room and it’s my favorite comfy spot to be! I will say, I have two dogs and my white couch can be very difficult in the wet season so be prepared for that 😂

So glad you are painting the office and moss is dreadful - you can power wash it off. As for your sitting room (what was the garage) the sofa does not look right in the middle of the room and the stool is not right there and the peleton should definitely go! Put it in your office maybe. A corner sofa unit system is meant for a corner not the middle of the room and I would introduce some colour to brighten the room.

Perhaps you could get some curtain tie backs - so the curtains frame the sofa, rather than get squashed behind it. I think you could try swapping the mirror over the sofa for a larger one - it is too small for where it is now - maybe it could go over the piano? Also in the garage snug the small cream ottoman could go next to the sofa where the wooden stool is currently.

I would go for the slate grey as that area gets dirty with wind and trees and it blends with slate etc. Blue a beach hut style not as sophisticated. Yes everything the same colour.

Love the changes to the room. You could also try the two chairs in the living room (in place of the sofa). You will be able to see the rad and the curtains and there will be some negative space (and yes to the piano finding and new home), and sage green ottoman in a bedroom :)

You could paint the office like stripey where it's clad in wood. Like a beach hut. With blue/greenish and sandy tones. Then you pick a nice blue/green color to paint the rest and use a darker oceany one for the windows/door and so on. 🌊

If this feedback helps: the mirror is too small and most importantly, does it help the room look brighter? If it doesn't, I would change it with a bigger painting. The ottoman between the 2 couches is too big, hence it gives the sensation of blockage when you enter the room. You could maybe try with 2 smaller (round?) ottomans (put close together or separate), or with a narrow coffee table. Regarding the painting outside, the 2nd one from top to bottom is the most suited in my opinion (but colours can look different on camera vs reality). Take care, stay healthy, balanced & serene!

1) I agree 💯 on taking relaxing baths. I enjoy one every night. I light a calming candle and add scented epsom salt. So relaxing! 2) in regards to ottoman, I personally like that green contrast with sectional. I would tuck the cream one behind the sofa per as needed 3). Lastly, the paint color to your adorable side room, my vote is the darker grey. It would provide a nice contrast and complement the green. Always enjoy your videos and recipes. Cheers from Ohio, USA

I agree that you need to be comfy. I have a large sofa in my living area, in an open concept space. I dont want to comprise comfort for esthetics. I love the look. I would suggest a different tray for the ottoman, a larger one that has room to set your coffee or tea on. Perhaps a few oversized pillows on the sofa with smaller ones in front. Id love to see english country florals mixed with the stripe or solid colour smaller ones.

It’s a vote for the darker grey paint , your green foliage will pop, mud/moss will not look so obvious and it will tone in with your patio and furniture. If you get rid of the peleton , you could replace it with the piano perhaps to give better balance behind the sofa? Someone else mentioned a bigger mirror behind you new living room sofa, I agree. I think the 2 sofas look good although I’m just not so sure there is enough leg/foot room if you have friends round on the sofa window? …….lots to ponder over!

Small comment about the coral, even do it was on the beach you unfortunately can not take it. If they find it in your luggage you get a really big fine. They do that stop the coral breaking so they can sell it off to tourists. And you haven’t done anything bad, but the problem is they don’t now that if you import it. I totally understand you, I also always think, ohh I wish I could bring it home. And this is a case of bad people ruining it for the good. And unfortunately it is necessary. So next time I wouldn’t take it. The fine is really high for it. ❤❤

I would put the 2 chairs back, I’m sure you both cosy up on the new sofa anyway. Then you wouldn’t block the radiator but you must do what feels comfortable for you. Or put the remaining pieces of the Oka sofa opposite and move the old sofa to the office. I’d sell the green ottoman and use the money to pay for the new cushions. And the piano definitely needs to come out, could it go in the garage conversion?
