I had never heard of the atmospheric river until watching you. Just another reason to follow you and not the corporate "news" shills. Now it all makes sense. Jet streams are global while atmospheric rivers are local. Genius!

Hey Michael, thanks as always. Seeing lots of weird info about the 'first snow in Saudi Arabia'. Websites claiming first in the country but looking at the videos, it looks like its more of a specific region and it appears to be more like hail or snow pellets, rather than actual snow. I've seen videos in the past of actual snow on camels but thats about it. Are snow pellets still a form of hail or is it considered actual snow? P.S. congrats on your windstorm videos, saw them on The Weather Channel videos section today 👏

Can you explain why the storms seem to dissipate right before Montana seems to stop at Idaho and miss us right at the border lol😂
@gabekatz715612 күн бұрын
@@montanafirefighter7279 I live in north Idaho and wondered that too. I think it’s because the bitterroot and cabinet mountains are the first real barrier for storms moving eastward after the cascades and deserts of Washington. Some parts of the woods here look a lot like the coast when it comes to greenery and water

Hi Michael - I had a comment for one of the polls but don't see the comment box. Please will you add discussion about how these things affect Idaho with some specifics? Skiing and Cali vacationers are always looking for info - as are we in the ski areas and mountain biking / hiking. The coast is only a very small part geographic area, but the entire 1.7 million people in Idaho would probably get caught up on your channel if you did this. NO ONE else does - so it is an ignored demographic for weather.

It sounds like we are getting set up for a rain-on-snow event in the higher elevations of the National Forests and Parks. These events have led to serious road washouts in the past.
