Brilliant Stars and newer is a little more speculative with reprints still on the table. Fusion Strike is taking off because it went unavailable on pokemon center right as it’s rotating out.

I got back into the hobby in August 2021 when Evolving Skies came out. I didn’t know what msrp was at the time and bought a case of Evolving Skies for $1200. I’ve sold 2 boxes since then. It’s funny to think at the time I overpaid for it, when it’s now worth so much more. I also bought a case of chilling reign for $450 in December of 2021 which averages $75 a box. It’s just a waiting game of buying and holding. Great video!

Great video, but I think it's worth adding... yes it's better to get in early... but most people don't have thousands to drop every month on pokemon investing. Because of that, imo it's way better to invest in sets that are ~2 years old, rather than the newest sets. A lot of SV will be reprinted, in stock for a while, but those sets with a time limit that are just going of stock (FS, CR, LO, ST etc) are better buys RIGHT NOW imo. I love Scarlet and Violet era, but they will likely go sideways for a while which SW/SH sets likely won't.

in the last 4 months I've picked up 4 Fusion Strike booster boxes, 2 Brilliant Stars, 1 lost origin, 1 Silver Tempest and 4 Chilling Reign boxes and with each purchase the price to grab them goes up especially Fusion Strike.

Glad i bought cases of CR n FS at 80, LO 110 ST $100 after reprint. Those were amazing deals for those sets. Its now the time they gonna climb more. Got BS case from PC too. Its no brainer when it sells msrp on PC. Get it before it sells out ppl.

because you can find these products for way under msrp right now. But Pokemon Center always sells at MSRP. So, it's usually best to not buy from Pokemon Center right away

Idk if anybody feels this way but I feel like this is a trend and most channels are repeating this same info. It’s happening so much it feels like a group thing. Feels like I’m getting pumped into buying BB that I may or may not want. I want a LO box and now that it is cheapest on PC I probably will buy one. But I’m not a fan of every “invest channel” telling me _ sets sold out on PC, the rest soon, buy buy buy.

Good feedback. A few thoughts: 1. It’s your money, so if you don’t want something, don’t get something just because a KZbinr told you to. 2. There are two ways of looking at this: maybe we are all in cahoots and all pumping the same thing. OR, and this is my opinion, this is what is currently happening in the market and investing channels want to stay relevant and up to date with what is happening in the market. 3. I want to differentiate my channel from others, but I also need to watch what others are doing so that I’m staying relevant and finding the popular trends - that’s the best way I’ve found for growth on KZbin. All that being said, I appreciate your comment, and I don’t want to just be an echo chamber all the time.

I think pokemon investing is speculative at this point. Good thing it's cheap though and historically goes up. However, stocks do the same thing.

Yeah index funds will generally beat most things over the long term. Pokémon investing can be very lucrative but I think there are rules that have to be followed: 1: Don't invest in alternative assets if you don't have any traditional assets. 2: Build up your reputation on your preferred selling platform. Gains on paper mean nothing if you can't offload your inventory. 3: Don't reinvest all of the profit you might make back into collectibles. Put some of it into index funds, bonds, land, precious metals etc. Basically anything that has more intrinsic value.
