Now that you're (finally) pregnant | 5 things to start doing after your positive!

You're (finally) pregnant!!! It’s an amazing and unreal feeling isn’t it, looking at that positive pregnancy test. And the second, and third, and what the heck, the 15th! But especially when you have been trying for a while and followed a so-many-step program or have been chugging down supplements and diligently charting, it honestly can feel a bit like a black hole you fall into. It’s too early for your prenatal appointments, definitely too early to start collecting baby gear (although really, is it ever too early?) and you might not feel ready to share the news with the rest of the world.
So here are a couple of things you CAN do (I won’t be giving the typical suggestions, they are plastered over the internet, so if you want a checklist with make an appointment with your midwife, then go look for those after this video lol, I’m trying to say something NEW, not repeat everything that’s already out there)

My first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage. My body acted like I was pregnant until my 11 week ultrasound showed that the baby stopped developing at 6 weeks. I miscarried naturally the next day. That was my first ultrasound though for that pregnancy. For my second pregnancy I had an ultrasound at 5w6d and baby had a heartbeat. He is now a year.

yes! this is so important. I, personally, will never give birth in a hospital ever again. no more ultrasounds or blood work either. it's time for women to take back pregnancy and childbirth as it was always meant to be ❤️

Well, here where I live it is not that straightforward. Women who claim wanting to give birth at home are considered "that crazy natural organic lady who lives in the woods, refuses technology and puts lives of hers and her baby at risk for her opinions" 🤐

One should check the maternal and fetal mortality rate when women were in ‘ total control ‘. How thankless for the advancement in medicine and science .

@@libsonteresa5695 ahhh yes how crazy of me to not want to give birth in a hospital in the country with the highest fatality rates. you don't blame the hospital for those tho??? what a weird thing to say. I'm allowed to give birth wherever I choose. it isn't a medical event. if I need medical help I'll go to the hospital. I don't see the problem here, only fear mongering

I know that most women would not know an implantation date, but I'm just curious if that date would be helpful for knowing due date. Does it make a difference in baby growth if implantation happens earlier or later than average? Love your Ina May Gaskin recommendation! I read her books more than 17 years ago when I was pregnant the first time. So glad I avoided so many unnecessary medical interventions!

I will be having a home birth and i tokd my midwife i dont want any ultrasounds. My midwife said she would feel more comfortable if she wasn't going in blind when I went into labor. I agreed to MAYBE do the anatomy scan, but not until baby is done developing..preferably past 30 weeks or as close to my due date as possible. Where can I find the homeopathic remedy ultrasound 30c? I've been looking and don't even see that as an option

UGH I was induced at 42 weeks but I told them I ovulated later in my cycle but they didn't listen to me 😔 pitocin hell for 16h then emergency cesarean. Sigh. I'm not pregnant but I'm gonna go in armed next time, God willing!

Is there less damage to the baby if its an abdominal ultrasound vs vaginal? I had a MMC at 8.5 wks so I have been fighting the urge to have an abdominal ultrasound for some peace of mind. My body didnt expel the pregnancy on its own so its nerve-wracking to not know if everything is going fine when your body didnt let you know last time.

That is nerve wrecking for sure. From what I know, there isn't a difference no, but the earlier the more risk so in that sense you could imagine the abdominal giving less problems because you're further along.
