This song resonates with Kasey as she was raised on the road in the Australian outback as a child. Her father, who’s playing the slide guitar, was a contracted rabbit shooter. The family formed a travelling band when Kasey was a teenager. Kasey struggled for recognition by the music establishment, outlined in one of her epic early songs, Ain’t I not Pretty Enough. Her family band was called the Dead Ringer band and consisted of her parents, Kasey and her brother Nat. It was formed in the early ‘90’s. After that Kasey went solo.

Thanks for this one Johnny. Had stumbled on this cover couple years ago and was blown away by Kasey, county/bluegrass artist from Australia. Listened to it over and over, started suggesting it to as many reactors as I could, quite a few did react to it and were blown away. Haven't listened in a while so thank you for that. The audio of this show was professionally recorded but they did not have any video. The band reached out to the folks in attendance for Phone video of the show and many fans sent them videos which they compiled and edited into what you see here.....pretty incredible to say the least. Easily the best cover of Em's song ever done. Cheers, stay well.

Kasey's always been an Em fan, and while she is a country artist, she often switches lanes. During lockdown she crafted this arrangement, not to take anything from Em, but to highlight his lyrics as emotional and poetic as they are, it's an homage. She has lived through it herself, hence the feeling. As soon as she started performing again, she pulled this out as an encore. They ended up asking the audience to send in any footage they had taken, that's the video. Em, or at least his people, saw it and told her to go ahead and put it on Spotify. The rest is reaction channel history, lol. ✌❤

Great reaction yet again mate! Kasey’s really something, ain’t she?! Apparently during covid she nutted out this cover and convinced the band to get on board with it. It really feels like she KNOWS what the song is about, I get goosebumps big time from this one! As someone already mentioned, that’s her dad, Bill on slide guitar. I play with a guy who used to tour with her and Bill’s band, he actually went out with her for a while back in the day. I was lucky enough to be invited up for a few songs with Bill’s band at the Tamworth county music festival a couple of years ago, bloody good fun!!! Hope you’re doing well mate, I haven’t been on YT very much recently, look forward to checking out more of what you’ve been posting! And hey, when are you coming downunder for a visit? Kasey is so versatile, She wrote a song called Am I Not Pretty Enough when no one would play her songs on the radio. and she struggled to get recognition. So she really gets Eminem's song. Check out her singing "Ain't No Little Girl", totally different style (I like her official video of it). It's her coming of age song.

Kasey Chambers is an accomplished Australian country singer-songwriter, who has won multiple awards and accolades for her 12 studio albums and her singles releases; she is the youngest Australian female artist to be inducted into the ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Hall of Fame. Kasey is a huge Eminem fan, and she took the opportunity during the lockdown for Covid she reworked Eminem's rap song into her own song; such was the difference between the original and her version, that she was given permission to upload this performance to Spotify in it's own right.

If you want to see another Australian Artist who did an amazing cover. Taking a classic Beatles song Help and totally transformed it into a whole new song whilst still keeping the essance of the song alive Check out John Farnham singing Help - live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It's from around 1990 and it's one cover that most people agree is actually better than the original. Some background on the artist. John Farnham is an icon of the Australian music industry with 6 decades of number one hit albums and songs. Hes been a teenage pop idol in the 60"s and 70's. Lead singer of the Little River Band during the 80's a rock star of the 80's and 90's a crooner of the 00's 10's with a little bit of country musical theatre, R&B, lots of Soul, thrown in from time to time. He has a "Huge" following of fans spanning generations from Australia and also Europe. I guarantee, if you react to this song the aussies will turn out in force to watch it. 😂
