@perlalopez206
@perlalopez206 3 жыл бұрын
They should've at least looked at his presentation, but I would not want someone who's putting actual food and drink in the products to promote the company because it looks cool. Sooner or later customers are going to want to do that too, so if the company can't provide them that then they will get a lot of angry customers. It is better to avoid those situations than to have him promote things that can't or shouldn't be done.

I don't get it. He was buying his own paint, so it wasn't like he was stealing and it wasn't like he was actually selling this paint to customers. I don't know if he was making these videos on the clock or not, which is an issue for some businesses. When people called, how hard is it to say "No, we can't put blueberries in your paint, but we can make your paint the color of blueberries and make it smell like blueberries (there really are paint fragrances)," rather than get mad about an employee attracting potential customers.

And since when do makers of commercials care about the commercial actually making any sense?
@dOVERanalyst
@dOVERanalyst 3 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming the amount of money they had to waste on customer service hours to keep taking calls and saying "No, we can't" was way more than they ever paid him anyways. So, the loss to company was more than gain. Initially he was using the company's paint (as per the video we all just saw). And he tried getting the VP Marketing on board to increase his role as company's social media team as well. For this category. To do what he did & make the company grow too. Company already has more orders than they can fulfill (I'm assuming). They didn't want to grow. So, they fired the cost causing ALL THE LOSS of customer service hours where they were paying for nothing. Because sadly we have still not developed a technology where we know what an incoming call wants to say.
@raditraditz
@raditraditz 3 жыл бұрын
@@dOVERanalyst Nah, I'm pretty certain that the top brass of his old company is a bunch of old coots that doesn't understand technology, innovation, and also viral marketing, hence they doesn't even bother to see his presentation, since they don't understand about all of it, nor they want to know it. This kind of thing is nothing new, where a company that were run by someone older who doesn't understand technology is always lagging behind in terms of innovation, since their mindset is still "if we're still selling, then there's no need to innovate", which is bad for someone who's creative, like the guy on the video.

Digimon was old school and stuck to strong story lines and toys, Digimon didn't necessarly do anything wrong, but a big part of being a buisness owner is knowing how to read the future and how times will change. Creativity without productivity is just wastage. Mixing five colours without an end goal of painting something is a waste of resources. If he did use these mixes to paint something, yes he was doing something creative. But if it was just to post on his channel and then dumped to sewage, it was both a massive waste, and harmful environmentally. I am of the same generation and i think we may have gotten it too easy growing up that we can easily justify wasting resources all in the name of creativity. There are thousand such videos where someone mixes random things, puts toys under the wheel, makes glittery slime, soils food and so on. Creativity without an end goal is insanity. And it seems too hard for most of this internet generation to accept. We have abundance, but we also need to preserve this abundance.
