Its an interesting thing to realize, that when you're out in public and you're passing by hundreds of people walking through stores and at the park or wherever, some of those people are probably a missing person. But they're only a missing person to those who once knew them, to us they are just another random face in the crowd. You don't really ever think about how the guy standing in line in front of you might be somebody's child that missing years ago and about how badly someone wants to see them again but maybe never will.

This is RE my husband, Tim Welch we are separated. He is missing. It's over 2 months now. Police are not helping. It's a horrible situation, he was living on property in a 5th wheel. The lady who allowed him to move there, has a convict son. The son was out of prison, on that property on Friday and Tim went missing the next Monday. I don't see that I can share his Missing poster. He was broadcasted on Bakersfield CA news days ago. The police finally posted him as officially missing in under 2 hours before the broadcast. They let that guy run when he had stalled opening a U-Haul on the land, that he'd said had Tim's belongings. The cops did nothing when he ran. The cops confirmed there was another murder on that property. I'm told the suspect had told an autistic relative he would kill the relative's mother, if he didn't tell police he did the murder. He (autistic relative not understanding) plead guilty. He hung himself in prison. The police knew the name of the guy we hear was bragging that he killed Tim and knew his address, said that he's known for crime and theft. We've done 2 extensive grid searches. His truck was being driven by the suspect and he also moved into the rv. It's in my name, so I went with others and retrieved it. We need help. His mother has paid someone with no detective background or real resources, $1500 a week for nearly 2 months. He is still missing. This is so sad because we have no help from Kern County Sheriff's Department at all. He was living between Mojave and Rosamond, CA. Note: his truck was found trashed, the police had it impounded into a regular impound yard, not held as crime evidence.

Long time ago, in the 1950s, my Grandmother had a brother go missing. He was a farmer, married with a child who was chronically ill, and disappeared after taking a truckload of cattle to sell at market. No one knew if he'd been murdered for the cash he got or took off and was living somewhere unknown. Even into her eighties, she always wondered what happened to him. He was found in the early 2000s (unfortunately after my Grandmother had passed) through an online genealogy site. He had moved to another town in the next state over, remarried, with a new family -- he hadn't even changed his name. Evidently it was easier to just disappear and start over then. But eventually, what had happened was found out.

@FM D Youre not saying anything new. Yeah corruption exists and it always will. And most countries have it. "Ohh the world is all about money" and "Ohh the system is broken" is pretty much the most generic thing you can say. You're generalizing. You're basicall talking about a revolution in a time where people actually should just be wary of shady guys who are coughing and are closer than 5 feet to you.

Someone who has worked in IT for a long time and had friends in security. This is awesome to see and just hope they don't forget that there is a lot of offline data aquistion that needs to be done. I worked in both Telco's and goverment agencies over the years and can tell you its not only a resource problem but also a technology access problem (@ telco we did stuff for police and in a test we triangulated a cell phone, then used live GIS satelittes to look at that location and see whats going on and also confirmed other cellphones in the area), there are lots of other things Nokia phones have had remote access since early phones & most phones can be tracked even if offline due to the gps chips list goes on. It all takes time to get approval or even have access and a lot of the time hackers can and will use that stuff legit or not if you are paying them to find someone

Well most hackers you "encounter" everyday are black hats when you download a virus or get all your files encrypted and they ask for a ransom. People don't see the thousands of white hats that spend their days making things more secure.

Well, 9/10 hackers are just evil people. And the 1/10 is still pretty evil, just does some good deeds when bored. Doesn't lift the veil of guilt from the others, or themselves, though. Think of the lives they've already ruined. The identities they've stolen. The money they've stolen. The reputations they've destroyed. And so on. If a cop punches me 50 times in the face and then offers me an apple, I'm not gonna thank him for the apple.
@davidebic3 жыл бұрын
@@kiyaleelevyrunaya9495 See, you're among the people who only sees the black hats. You completely ignore the thousands of security experts, aka white hats, working every day to make our lives safer on the internet. For every black hat trying to do bad deeds, there's a white hat trying to prevent those black hats from doing so.

What a brilliant idea. Ask 10 people and each of them will have noticed something different when viewing an event. For example @5:16, I noticed a busker playing a Parker Fly because I love electric guitars. Others will see stuff I know nothing about. It's the same online. As each person contributes something new it paints a picture that helps investigators crack cases and makes everyone a contributor.

All jokes aside, this kind of help is priceless to families of missing persons. I can’t imagine how helpless they probably feel when the police let them down.
