I just realised, the whole "Fearsome monsters... hidden treasures" thing in the starts of the first few episodes makes a lot more sense in the context of the Dark Continent. That's exactly what it is- the craziest threats humanity has ever seen, guarding the greatest treasures they can get. Was it planned all along?

ABD literally explains this perfectly! The fact that the card Pregnancy Stone was even explained gives me reason enough to believe that Ging used it to create Gon. Theres no way that Ging got someone pregnant and stayed with them for 9 months so he could be there when Gon was born, its literally not in his nature at all to do that. Why else would he make that card, theres no other reason except for that. Edit: Panda Care basically confirms this. Why the absolute fuck else would he create these cards?

Question: How come more people don't know that the whole world is many, many times bigger than what they currently think it is? HxH seems to be at late 90s - early 2000s level of technology and civilization, judging by the internet, flip phones and game consoles (JoyStation) being decently commonplace. This means that they probably also have satellites. So how come a photo of the entire globe, Dark Continent and all, has never been taken? I'd assume it's the hunter association's influence to keep it under wraps, but still many of the world's countries would have gotten orbiting satellites by now. Shouldn't somebody have found out? The world being much bigger than it seems also has other implications. Not knowing the real radius of the Earth can lead to many problems in physics calculations, for instance.

new head cannon to look into, Don is all 3, dead and it hasn't been found, still writing it (this being not the east and west but the north and south), AND finished with it (the east) because instead of it being the SAME Don Freecs it is an act of post mortum nen that allows for the inheritance of the prior knowledge and experience to some extent which would help to explain Ging's implicitly absurd nen proficiency and the fact that he seems to be comp[etely unsurprised by the events that Gon went through. as he probably planned out every path that Gon could choose as he wanted gon to have experienced nen and ultimately left nearly dead and devoid-ish of nen to become a vessel that will be able to handle all of the Freecs compounded post mortum nen after Ging passes away. and his nen knowledge of how to self replicate came from one of his ancestors recent undertaking on the new world.but required time to set his ideals into motion which is why he hasn't went to the new world before now BOOM most likely the ramblings of a maniac but that's the best part of tthis series... it's not impossible!

also if Hisoka survives the current arc, I'd wager anything that he eventually either almost becomes or does become the head of the hunter association in a not too dissimilar fashion to Isaac Netero's backstory... becoming excessively powerful to the point he becomes bored and decides to raise his own challenges although he may stop short from a re-awakened Gon who was created to end cyclical events

the east side is completed as you already mentioned that netero might be the one who gave it to ging which makes it that netero and 2 of his companions found on the east side, don has been on the dark continent for 300 years and how old do you think netero? 90 years old and he probably found the book when he was in his 30s + so which makes it that the book has been made in the span of 200 years and that's why the west side of the book of dark continent isn't done yet because he probably needs another 100 years so it would probably took him another let's say 100 years more to complete the book

Ight after watching the whole series I got it ..... Don is Gon and Ging is the look alike Don took so he could look human.....reason I say this is because of Kite being able to transcend is 100+ year old body into a young version and also being black seeing how Ging reacted to Gon when he recovered let me know it was major major history there because of the way he acknowledged him before and after he told him to go apologize that was a remember where you came from scene
