Some things i’d like to add, at 10:15 the Indigenous Australian says “Indya nyambika kyuna, nyambika urala. Awtila rākyana nyambika kyunda. Nētima rōnyera indya kyunda.” which in English means “This is our land, our home. You’re standing on our land. Walk well on this land.”, and yes the Black, Yellow & Red flag is the official flag of the Indigenous Australian people, also if you didn’t know, Indigenous Australians range from white skin all the way to dark black skin, dark black skin was obviously the skin Indigenous Australians had before colonisation, but got lighter through natural mixing, rape, Stolen Generation (which is a whole different topic, a very sad one), and forced marriages, so even though a large chunk of Indigenous Australians have lighter skin a lot of us hold on to our roots as a way to stand resilient against the evil that the government did in the past. Just thought i’d add this in case you didn’t know, i’m a proud Wakka Wakka Indigenous Australian 👣🖤💛❤️

So they’re both indigenous. Māori are the indigenous people of New Zealand, Aboriginal are the indigenous people of Australia (the oldest culture might I add 😍). The weapon you were talking about that the Māori player was holding is a Patu. I’m going to disagree with you on the “performance” side of things. Both sides are doing a literal War cry. We have a thing in New Zealand called Kapa Haka and this is where you can find the performance side of things and where we like to showcase our culture. Thank you for showing our beautiful cultures some love brother. Proud Māori here. Tu Meke

If you are ever greeted with a Haka. It is VERY intimidating - and it's MEANT to be. . The people are coming to meet you and (possibly) allow you to be their friend . . . BUT as they perform this VERY frightening and 'in-your-face' display - you must do ONE THING. . You MUST not show any fear or intimidation. . And you *_MUST not show any amusement or disrespect!!!_* . You should stand your ground. . You should look serious and fearless. . . Stare them down. . . Do not flinch . . Show them that you are EQUAL to their CHALLENGE. .

If we found out a tribe was planning to kill us in the past, we would pretend we didn’t know and ask them if we could perform to them. We would perform without holding weapons but made sure to get right up close to them at one part of the haka and pull taiaha or patu out from the back of our korowai (cloaks) then kill them on a certain word and then because my tribe Tuwharetoa aren’t cannibals we would raid their villages. My tribe are to never poke out the tongue because of the fact the tongue was used as a sign by cannibal tribes that they will be eaten for more Mana (a concept that defines your power as the word “mana”, now used in videogames as a substitute for magic.
