I'll just wait till I get a good job :D. it may take a while because of school. Also, I should probably wait because I just started playing cello 6 months ago, so I should probably get a bit better on my rental acoustic. Also, I have no cello teacher, so I am learning alot from your vids :) (especially how to play the prelude, which i only have half of memorized, but it is a start!).

This is the primary reason I love NS Cellos. :D now it's just raising up to buy it. :) but since I'm broke, I'm going for the NXTA. :)

Good choice!

@@CelloCoach I love that it has the active mode so I can get a really clear sound from it. And as for the headphones jack sitch I can just buy a headphone jack adapter since nxta doesn't have that. :)

@CelloCoach great demo, thank you! For a beginner who never played any kind of cello, but intends to play NS design cello specifically, which support would you recommend - the tripod stand, the end pin kit or the belt? I do have the tripod but as I am trying to learn vibrato I find the instrument shaking. Being a beginner, I am not yet certain whether this is due to lack of technique on my part or ultimately instability of the tripod for vibrato. Thank you in advance!
@CelloCoach Жыл бұрын
I prefer the endpin stand and harness system. The tripod takes time to adjust our technique, so why not spend your valuable time adjusting to the Shoulder Strap System?
@michaelezra9290 Жыл бұрын
@CelloCoach thank you for pointing out the shoulder strap system, I will look into it also. Can it be comfortably used in a sitting position as well? Do you think the pin kit would ultimately allow greater control over the instrument?

Hello, I have just purchased a used NS Design CR4. Do you recommend changing the strings and if so which ones do you recommend? Thank you for all your advice and your great videos, they are what motivated me to take the plunge and take up the cello. Good day to you. Tom.

How do you find the 5 strings? I am looking at this cello, and struggling to decide how many strings I should get haha! Do you find it more challenging to bow the 5 strings, or has it not been a problem?
@CelloCoach Жыл бұрын
Not a problem because I tend to "over pronate" on the 1st string and not so on the 4th string
@topsecret18373 жыл бұрын
Wonder if you could use Velcro to attach the bow on the side, while someone plays it on its side like a bass guitar. Would be an interesting example of hybrid technique.

do the straps and endpin accessory work on the NXTa? Both have EMG pickups, so is the quality really that different (CR vs NXTa)? one demonstration I heard the NXTa sounded clearer....

Did you ever figure out the difference between the NXTa and CR series?
@femtohimself712 жыл бұрын
@@thisislance and btw the attachments work for all instruments, just really bad marketing/info by the company to call it the CR strap. it can be used on the NXTa as well as the enpin and other shi. I had to ask them directly and double check with my local store that this was the case. my strap comes in soon

I have a new distortion tone goal! What are using for F string?
@CelloCoach2 жыл бұрын
the NS low F, specially made for this cello
@dancatcar41563 жыл бұрын
Do you (anyone) suggest the 4 or 5 string?
@femtohimself712 жыл бұрын
if you are used to a 4 string, its a safer bet, you will have to adjust slightly to the 5 string in terms of angling your bow when you are string crossing. If you are more into experimenting or improvisation that Low F is nice to have, gives you more access to music ideas and you cover more range Frequency Range-wise.
