I have the first series WAV bass because I didn’t have the room or space for an acoustic upright bass. I didn’t expect it to SOUND like an upright because it’s electric. BUT for the money it sounded incredible coming from my SWR Super Redhead. Still have it. Great bass for the money.😌🎶👍🏾

Great video Rumblin Man! Ned Steinberger (NS) is a genious, I love everything he creates even if I never had the chance to try all his musical instrument. I had his first creation though, a couple of years ago, a Steinberger XL-2 bass, I wish I still owned it by the way, still my favorite bass to date!

This is one of those “dream” instruments for me. Especially the higher end NS electric uprights - I want to try my hand at playing arco, but man, that price tag limits me. I love Neds instruments; though.

A lot cheaper than a Yamaha Silent. I would just try to find a decent plywood 3/4 student bass for less than a grand. Companies like FMI also have tons of cool personal options. A double bass doesn’t have to cost 10K+

I think it would sound good with a bow too, this probably has a 41- 42" scale length. Ibanez has a similar instrument with a 34" scale, still smaller scale then a 1/2 size bass though ( approx 38")
@milkwalkerjones633 Жыл бұрын
NS has the Omni version of this bass which is 34" scale. This one is 41.75 or thereabouts

Really like the review. I have had 3 "electric uprights" in the past and all sound simply like a fretless bass guitar. I simply don't want to buy a truck to haul around the traditional "double bass". BTW: any chance of you reviewing a Rick Turner Renaissance bass?

And a Music Man “Stingray” Love’m both . Always wanted a double bass but the usual difficulty’s kept me from getting one. This bass sounds pretty good. Is it hollow? Does it come with a bow? Does it have a real upright feel?
@RumblinMan4 жыл бұрын
It’s not hollow and doesn’t come with a bow. It feels like an upright but better.

I’m surprised that you have some upright chops. The upright is a tricky instrument. Try a German bow for upright bass. It’s basically a separate instrument.
