NTS Portland 2015 Free-Mo Cabride HYPERSPEED - N Scale - LARGEST EVER FREE-MO N-SCALE LAYOUT

Yes, this is N-scale.
Four clubs from around the United States came together for four days, to create the largest ever (to date) Free-moN layout in North America. This video traverses the entire layout, covering nearly 1000 feet of mainline at 2.5 feet PER SECOND.
This video was taken on the North American N scale Free-mo layout at the 2015 National Trainshow, hosted by the NMRA on August 28-30, 2015.

Five reverse loops
130+ modules
~30 modelers
This cabride covers nearly every module in each club, with service starting at Minnesota's Roseville yard, then following a continuous route that visits Pacific Northwest, NLand Pacific, and Silicon Valley, before returning back to Minnesota. Each club had a reverse loop at the end of their line, so the camera was able to capture each branch from both directions.

H U G E applause to the tech that paid detailed attention to SOUND BALANCE CONTROL/ASSIGNMENT for accurate reflected sound in the correct ear!!! 😀😀😄 Lovin THAT! HUGE APPLAUSE to the very talented modellers of each module!! very nice work, boys & girls!! keep up the great standards- I'm going to be looking into this relatively new "standard" to my new modular "show quality" N layout!!

+pckeppel - Thank you for your reply. I was just curious. As you may have heard, it suffered some damage in transit, which the NLP crew did a remarkable job of repairing for show ops. As the owner of HSB, I was simply curious (I was unable to attend the show and haven't really gotten show debrief details). The take-away is simply: LOVE the video; very entertaining, very comprehensive - and a fantastic concise view of what is one HUGE layout!!

They got Roseville all wrong. You take a right turn out of the yard through rock not a left turn.

What settings do you use on your XD1080 to get such good color? I've tried in vain to get color that good, or did you use Final Cut to color correct?

I locked the color temperature to 5000K (flourescent), locked the exposure, and then sweetened it just a bit in FCP. Also did a bit of motion smoothing and lens correction to remove most of the fisheye distortion. Thanks!
