Hi, can you set to loop an uploaded SBS 3d video to the Leia Pad 2? Great videos. Thanks

I would love to hear from everyone here in the comments if you have any questions about LeiaPlayer, what your experience has been with it, and anything I may have missed in the video!

One of my objectives with the tablet is to run 3D slideshows of many thousands of art images (in LeiaFrame). It appears to me that the only way to do this is to laboriously convert one image at a time to 3D in LeiaPlayer in order to make them available in the slideshow. I should be able to designate a file folder of 40,000 images and have it convert all of them even if it takes a considerable time for the device to accomplish that.

@@stephenbard1590Batch conversion would be a nice feature to have. This may be something that can be achieved with their LeiaPix converter API, but unfortunately I think is not free. The web version of LeiaPix converter is of course free but like the tablet can only convert one at a time.

I have subscribed to your channel and watched four of your videos about the LUME 3D 2. Do you have instructions on how I can take my 3D movies on BLU-RAY - and I guess rip them into SDS format. Can they be played off the micro SD? If not - do they need to be loaded on the device? If so how do you do that?

This is something I haven't tried myself, but there is some discussion on the Leia Forums about ways that might work. For now, there is no way to just play a 3D blue ray disk directly. I am hopeful that within the next couple years, as we see 3D displays in an increasing amount of consumer devices that this functionality will be added to everything. So I am personally waiting for that to happen. I do know other people have said they have gotten it to work, so it is possible if you have the SBS video file. Videos still need to be played from internal storage and cannot yet be played directly from the micro SD in 3D.

Great videos! Thanks for posting content on the Lume Pad. I just ordered one and I have many questions but the ones that come to mind are: can you download to the tablet, for example, a Netflix movie or series to watch on a flight in 3D? Also, is there any way at all to export 2d videos that were converted converted to 3D? (I suspect not, but just wondering). Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Thanks! There's so much I love about these tablets and I am happy to share my experience through these videos. Also, great questions! 1. Until Netflix develops a 3D version of their app, there isn't any way to stream or view their content in 3D, even if downloaded. They don't allow companies like Leia to pass it through AI conversion tech and deliver it in any way outside of their platform. I'm hopeful with the increasing amount of interest in this tech and growing amount of devices supporting it, that companies including Netflix will see this as a business opportunity to expand their offerings and attract new users/give existing ones more reason to stay or come back. Even if that happens it will still definitely take time. However, what you can do is take any regular video file that you have stored on the tablet and convert it on the go. In other words, any file that you have saved and playable on LeiaPlayer, should be possible to convert. 2. Unfortunately from my experimenting, this is also not available as a feature currently. Maybe in the future this will be possible, but it probably won't work for other people or companies content, just video files you have saved in LeiaPlayer. Despite these limitations, my time with LeiaPlayer and all the other apps I've covered so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Congrats on ordering one, I hope you enjoy it too! Also maybe you have seen the Leia news updates, but they just released a new app to the Leia App Store called Moonlight, that allows you to stream anything SBS from a computer to the Lume Pad 2, so there are a lot of exciting possibilities to try out with that too.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I will for sure be experimenting heavily with the Luma, as I have also ordered a CALF 3D camera to start creating content.

The native storage on the device is so small that I immediately added a 512g micro sd card, however I can't see the file folders in the sd card storage using the LeiaPlayer File Browser. Do you have a workaround for that?
@josh_3D
@josh_3D Жыл бұрын
Leia has said that is going to be added in an upcoming update. There isn't a perfect workaround yet, but there is a way to view in 3D one at a time from the SD storage. Open file manager (shows up among the apps that appear from the bottom left arrow on the home screen), then navigate to the photos on your micro SD card. Then from the phot list, without opening up the photo file, select one single photo and click the more option on the upper right. There is an option "other apps open". If you select LeiaPlayer, you can view that photo in 3D from the SD storage, without having to relocate it to internal storage. If you select more than one photo at a time, the "other apps open" is not available as an option. This also only works with 3D photos, not videos. It's not ideal, but it's the best workaround I know of for now

@@josh_3D Thanks much for the workaround! I adore the device, but I have to say that I find it shocking that they advertise memory expansion as a feature, but still have not actually provided normal access to that additional memory. I submitted a Customer Service Request regarding this two months ago but received no response.

@@josh_3D I think the issue is more like a marketing issue than a technical issue. I think this feature could be in the next realese or never ... Can not play (SBS) 3d photo and (SBS) 3d video from sd card is a deal breaker to me. I will wait until they add this feature then I will consider to buy this tablet, otherwise what is the point of buying a limited functional 3d tablet.
@josh_3D
@josh_3D Жыл бұрын
@@bentran3383 Totally understand. I was disappointed to find that it didn't work as expected with files on the micro SD card. However, they have stated numerous times that it is in the works for a future update and I believe they will follow through. It is a deal breaker for some people and I think they realize how big of an issue it is.
