I've gotta admit: the message that this song has at the end- "be the broken or the breaker; be the giver or the undertaker;~ the keys are within your hands; realize you are your own creator of your own master plan" - this is just so empowering to me. Almost makes me wish I was Norwegian so I could join a true black metal band (although Behemoth is also that way, even if they're Polish). Yeah. In fact, I actually think if anything, Scandinavia's the real part of the world that's more open to metal (except Denmark), but there fairly decent American metal bands for sure, like Tool or the Black Dahlia Murder, but in the way of black metal, I just feel like American black metal bands are more like a bunch of wannabe's. You know what I mean? I mean, there are good American black metal bands (Skeletonwitch (or at least their later stuff), Goatwhore (sorta)), but still, I feel like they're just trying to fit into the mold of black metal in a way. But I do like other bands from outside of both Scandinavia and the US. Those bands are totally BRUTAL (Behemoth, Anaal Nathrakh (totally freaky, but I LOVE them).

I had a friend that learned about them through metalocalypse. dimmu burger, he looked it up to see if it was a real burger chain (we were kids/preteens) and he found the video to sacrilegious scorn and got nightmares but found himself coming back for more and more and more. Long story short he’s a death metal drummer now lolol

I never really appreciated this song or the album Abrahadabra until a couple of years ago I believe. Coming from Albums like In Sorte Diaboli or Death Cult Armageddon, I found it to be a little too soft. But then I stumbled upon that live video of this song in Norway with the orchestra and everything and I realized how amazing it is. Then I went back through Abrahadabra and realized I actually love it. It's not even remotely as bad as I thought it was. It's actually a masterpiece.

Omar Nope, Cradle lost it. Just listen to their first albums. (The Principle of Evil Made Flesh (1994) Dusk... and Her Embrace (1996) Cruelty and the Beast (1998) after that the lost it (TO ME) this is a personal opinion. you're allowed to disagree but not to insult me, insult is a proof of lacking intelligence.

The core principle of freedom Is the only notion to obey The formula of evolution and sin Leading the way The rebirth is near completion As we slowly awaken from slumber As we slowly awaken from slumber The malpractice of the spirit ends Gateways! When the gift is once again attained Gateways! No rules or restraints are longer valid Gateways! When the ancient future is reclaimed Gateways! No rules or restraints are longer valid Gateways! When the ancient future is reclaimed Gateways! It's all there for the eye that can see The blind ones will always suffer in secrecy For it is the omen Of what lies submerged Untouched within us The core principle of freedom Is the only notion to obey The formulae of evolution and sin Leading the way The rebirth is near completion As we slowly awaken from slumber To receive the light that shines in darkness The light that shines forevermore Forevermore! Be the broken or the breaker Be the giver or the undertaker Unlatch and open the doors Be the healer or the faker The keys are in your hands Realize you are your own sole creator Of your own masterplan Be the broken or the breaker Be the giver or the undertaker Unlatch and open the doors Be the healer or the faker The keys are in your hands Realize you are your own sole creator Of your own masterplan!

Wait, hold on a sec..."The core principle of freedom Is the only notion to obey" doesn't make ANY sense at all, let alone being a "badass" lyric. That's literally a self-contradiction, and not in some clever, deep way. That's like saying, "The basic tenet of individuality is to only confirm."
@trbjo1236 жыл бұрын
@@akicitaa.8233 Perhaps it is the self contradiction they are aiming at. That we are free, but we still have to obey laws of society. i dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
