@TheKitComplete
@TheKitComplete 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, this is a fairly common problem with a few solutions. Firstly you can add a platter stabilizer or upgrade the whole platter. Less platter wobble helps a lot. If you need you can add some weight to the needle like a penny or something. Also when you are just starting there is a tendency to be very heavy handed. With time you’ll learn a lighter touch. Also look into getting skipless records.

@user-vk9xk6bf5i
@user-vk9xk6bf5i 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheKitComplete should check the belt itself. Maybe it is too stretched. The humming sound in your video appeares when belt slips around platter. After mode have been done two rubber surfaces (belt and rubber band) receive perfect connection, thus torq from motor spindle to platter goes without any leak. That's the idea. For me it works perfectly. Of course all should be installed properly. Good luck!
@TheKitComplete
@TheKitComplete 4 жыл бұрын
Олег Коваленко yeah this was ages ago so the belt was almost new. And after I took off the wrist band it worked perfectly. The only thing I can think of is it must have been the shape or the placement of the wrist band. Anyways, cheers bro

Are there royalty free 7 inch battle records? I am thinking about getting into scratching because I would like to use it in my music, but I also want to make sure I can put my music out on Spotify without having copyright issues. Awesome video by the way!
@TheKitComplete
@TheKitComplete 2 жыл бұрын
There are but as far as I know they are not very common and it is sometimes hard to find out which records are royalty free. Scratching has been in a grey area for some time now. It is incredibly unlikely for your music to get flagged on a streaming service when using battle records, I have never heard of it happening. That said it is technically possible for music to get flagged. Hope that's helpful :)

Yeah the stylus is just like the crosleys (or most other portable turntables). Just plastic. I don't think it will damage your records but the sound quality isn't very good. You can upgrade the stylus though. This is what I use amzn.to/3jkYl4W

do you have a link for the same vinyl stabilizer you used and diamond needle? im a totally completely new beginner who got introduced to this literally 5 minutes ago and I want to learn a new hobby. my friend told me to stick with the stock fader on this unit for now, but he definitely said to ask you where to get the same stabilizer and diamond needle. anything helps to get me started!

Hey, so the stabilizer is from Bihari Designs bihari.bigcartel.com/product/platter-upgrade-kit-for-pt01-scratch There are a couple of people who make them and I think they are all pretty much the same. The needle I just got off Amazon amzn.to/3jkYl4W And yeah the scratch switch is actually pretty decent, especially for getting started. When you want to upgrade I can recommend the Jesse Dean Designs fader, but again there are a few people who make them and they all seem pretty good.

Would you say the pt01 is a good buy, even though you need to upgrade almost every feature it has? I’m just starting out and a wondering if it’s worth getting into, or maybe it’s better to start at a higher level of a turntable…
@TheKitComplete
@TheKitComplete 2 жыл бұрын
It is a bit of a tricky question. In short I would say yes it's worth it. Even with all of the upgrades it is still a very cheap way of getting into scratching, possibly the cheapest. One thing to keep in mind when you're looking at full sized turntables is that for scratching you don't want to go with the cheapest model, especially avoid anything that is belt driven. You'll want to look at direct drive turntables. Plus you'll have to get your own mixer which adds to the cost. Depending where you are you might find a good deal on second hand goods. There are definitely pros and cons either way you go. For me going portable was the best option as I don't have the room for a permanent setup so being able to quickly and easily move/setup/pack away was a big factor in my choice. Hope that all helps
