A long time ago a close friend asked me: How do you hit people swinging that thing? Wouldn't a simple stick be more useful? And I answered: I don't swing nunchucks at people. It's not very effective. I rely on triangular footwork and INTERCEPT THE OPONENT'S movement while THEY TRY TO HIT ME. Multiple lightnig-fast, bone-breaking strikes coming from odd angles aimed at joints and head. And for that particular task: Nunchucks are excellent. I also prefer okinawan octagonal geometry, heavy duty non-slip tape and a fast short rope. Loving your videos! Subscribed.

Nice. Not much info out there on how to actually use nunchucks in self defense. Might not be something most people would carry around, I'm pretty sure they're illegal to conceal in many locales, but understanding the principles of how they function is useful in and of itself.

My original nunchuck was oak. I hit myself with it more than most anything else. When I was in med school in Philadelphia, my car was broken into and they took it. Hopefully, it did at least as much damage on them as it did to me :-)

Ha, yeah, oak is no joke. :)

Kind of hard to follow with such an attractive assistant at hand. Must watch a few more times.
