which keycaps option did you end up going for the Nuphy?
@krakadzil11 ай бұрын
I don't know how you did it but your sound test sounds better then the official examples from Nuphy
@Ken_Jones11 ай бұрын
It has to do with the material of the desk and the deskmat. These 2 things influence the sound of the exact same keyboard. The sound of the video also depends on which microphone is used and how it was setup (far from the keyboad, close to the keyboard, etc). In the end the sound you hear is also depended on your own speakers. So when you buy a keyboard based on the sound you heard in a youtube video, you might be suprised how it sounds in real life. This doesn't mean that these videos are worthless, these videos are good for comparing different sounds AND they give a pretty good idea of how a keyboard sounds.

I tried the Cowberry and Aloe (linear switches); they required no force, and the space bar felt dead. If you're coming from Apple or MX Keys Moss, Blues or Wisteria is the way to go. (Tactile) . (Moss has a great feel regarding thump and force). Sound tests on KZbin are irrelevant to the feel which is more important when typing for hours. I also wanted to note that they sell sample packs of the switches on Amazon which is great if you don't want to waste time or money.

This is the comment I was looking for. I have a MX keys mini which I enjoy typing on and I’m looking at getting a low profile mechanical keyboard. I had the K3 pro with brown switches but didn’t feel right to me and the key presses felt light and bottoming out. I’m considering trying the Nuphy Air75 v2 with Moss switches. The cowberry sounds great but I’m sure they will be too light for my liking.
@MatN19882 ай бұрын
@@COB506 Yup! I also tried the blue switches and they weren't for me. They were too loud and clicky and required too much force. I also bought a Lofree Flow 100 and it has the perfect switches as well and they came with the black Phantom tactile switches.

@@MatN1988 I just ordered an Air75 v2 with moss switches through Amazon. We’ll see how it feels and worst case I can just return it. I can’t believe I even spent that much on a keyboard, but it is a daily tool I use to be fair. Lofree is so expensive! And has less features that I want so I’m not going that route. If the Nuphy doesn’t cut it, I’m going back to MX keys mini.

Thank you for the sound sample of these especially the Cowberry ones. You may or may not remember me & my comment on your full review of the Air75V2 in which I said that I hadn't ever had a mechanical keyboard before & I researched & to be "safe" (as I didn't want a super loud sound when typing or a switch that I had to press super hard & 'bottom out' before a keystroke was registered, I went with the Gateron Brown 2.0 Switch, (because even at least during the preorder for the Air75V2, the Cowberry Switches weren't available as a separate set, sigh) but the sample in that video of the single Cowberry switch was intriguing by it's sound & this video in which you were typing on a full set of the Cowberry's has me thinking that I am leaning towards ordering a set of those now too & in my very brief testing of my Air75 V2 with the Brown Switches, I am satisfied with it & your review of it, gave me the nudge to take a chance on it, so thank you for that & your review of both the keyboard itself & these switches!

Hi, love your content ! Please advise - I’ve got the Logitech mx mini (non-mechanical / scissor switches) which perfect, I returned the mx mechanical mini tactile quiet switches for having too much key travel and feeling mushy. Which Nuphy switches would you recommend which can match my mx mini’s scissor switches - fast, low key travel, least amount of resistance ? Thank you !
@dereklang44519 ай бұрын
I listened to various videos, read many reviews and since the quietest/best sounding were cowberry (linear so out of the equation/can easily be unintentionally 'triggered') and Wisteria, which are tactile.. I picked Wisteria. The sound and resistance I could see (hopefully I'm right) were unbeatable. The brown ones sound clicky in comparision and I know the Moss has a higher actuation force/at the beginning and sounds too loud and high pitched in comparison. I'll see in a few days..
@isaacfuentes9054 ай бұрын
Do u still like wisterias?
@dereklang44514 ай бұрын
@isaacfuentes905 hey! What can I say.. you have to try them yourself; watching reviews etc. can only point you in a certain direction. I was wrong. Wisteria are quite clicky and need a bit actuation force to work. Great for typing, but not so much for gaming. On the other hand the cowberries were actually what I was looking for. They have a bit pre-travel/very small bump, so you can't actually unintentionally trigger them and do very nicely for typing AND gaming (are much quiter/more hollow sound). They are the ones for me ;) Hope this helped.

I have the Wisteria in an Air75v2 and just not happy with the sound or feel, trying to decide between the Moss, Gateron Banana or Gateron Chocolate. Both the the Gateron offering have audible leaf ping though and very few reviews. I do have the shine through on mine which may be giving a thinner sound as well.
@MarbsMusicАй бұрын
I ended up going with the Gateron Banana and they have a nice bump and are a little heavier than the Wisteria and Moss but still not too happy with the sound. The feel is better though and the non-shine through caps help the sound IMHO. I had the shine through on that and they definitely brighten the sound, which wasn't what I was going for.

Is the bump higher on the Moss switches? The info on them gives the impression that they have less travel than the browns before you get to the bump?

The transition was an interesting thing, the difference in the action force is really noticeable. @bobjoejack11 ай бұрын
What do you think of Cowberry vs Wisteria for "quietest" but also nice to type on?
@semiprotech11 ай бұрын
Cowberry has a deeper tone which comes across almost quieter than Wisteria, but I think Wisteria actually might be a tad quieter, just slightly higher pitched so it has this effect like it seems louder even though the volume is not...if that makes sense. In terms of typing enjoyment, it really depends on whether you like a tactile bump. The Wisteria's tactile bump is pretty mild, not nearly as sharp as the new Moss switch, but it's still there if you like that little bit of feedback. I personally like Cowberry the best for the deeper sound and linear smooth feel.

@Dunkable7 ай бұрын
From what I've been seeing, moss switches are more tactile than browns. People say that browns are basically just a "dirty" linear switch. As in, they might as well be a linear switch because they don't have a very noticeable bump when you press them. I have browns (not low profile) on my keyboard (not the keyboard in the vid) and I'll say that sounds about right. Just a tiny, gentle click as you press them down. I imagine moss switches need a bit more pressure and have a more noticeable click or bump. Blues are more tactile than moss as far as I know. And they are clicky (sound), which isn't for me. But if you like the clicky clacky you'll probably like them. I think I'm going with moss and lubing them bad boys up unless they come lubed. Then I'll order some cowberry switches in the future if I feel like trying linear. Take this with a grain of salt, I just started looking at this keyboard today
