The teaching council has the same problem. Teachers, no matter their subject, are required by the council to promote Te reo and tikanga and push lefty topics like sustainability. It's just another reason to move to Australia.

How does anyone know the full story of colonisation in New Zealand...many of us have relevant pieces of this history that have never seen the light of day outside our families. No one wants to stop Maori from exploring themselves but not while FORCING their culture and beliefs on the rest of us. As far as I know my ancestors weren't the ones that did this to Maori many generations ago so why is it ok for them to do it to us now?

Nurses are One of the hardest working people in New Zealand and making them take a history lesson and speak fluent Maori when not all Maori speak English anyway is unnecessary and just adds more stress to their tough Jobs, if you think this is acceptable then you must be blind to why nurses get sick of it and leave to Australia or some other country. Respect people's choice to have their opinion heard or there will no longer be enough people to keep the economy going. Why do you think a million kiwis don't live in New Zealand?

@@themarsman5155 don't worry the government has bought all these other nurses into the country who can't even speak proper English half the time and get things wrong in the Hospitals like not performing procedures properly. I'm speaking from experience. A nurse friend had told me about all the mistakes these Asian imported nurses make constantly even medication mistakes. When the Maori Activists hsve baseball the decent nurses out of NZ In hope they are going to be happy with what's left to looking after them when they get sick.

Maori get special treatment when it comes to healthcare. But i don't think nurse's need another pay raise or to be beholden to that woke crap.we need to get rid of healthcare depending on skin color and we need to realize doctors and nurses are just as valuable as plumbers or farmers they don't deserve better than other NZers they can't keep getting pay increases well the rest of the country struggles same with teachers

@toakasi6425 no I just think there's other options, and I've been through hospitals quite allot ....like I said nurses are no more valuable to our society than plumbers, farmers, electricians, and others . They do not deserve extra perks and exorbitant pay and holidays when the rest of our country is struggling. I also think if we are going to pay to train these people then they should be under obligation to stay and do so many years in NZ before they can go somewhere else

@DS.proudkiwi It's the nurses council they have people there who have bn controlled and dictated to for to long same nonsense with teachers council. The red tape regulations and breaches in the bill of civil rights privacy act and info withheld from public has bn kept a secret for years and years. It needs to be investigated as I see courses are more specialised and all the further elevated cultural appropriation of Tikanga Maori does not represent the code of practice then alot of trained and experienced nurses use as it is not relevant or deemed important.

Only to find that when I need our Hospital staff to treat my life threatening medical conditions to sit there and get so offended because I identified myself as a natural born female on the information sheet when it asked for my gender, because I am a natural born female. I go to seek life saving treatment from a Hospital Specialist. I don't pay my taxes so that Hospital staff can behave wokefully judgemental and stupid! If you are in our National Health System to be woke and judgemental over delivering life saving medical treatment? Then you are in the wrong industry!

It is true,Maori make a small part of the work place. However it deemed Important,be better to learn Hindu Filipino,they make up the back bone. Yet they are ignored and degraded.Many are told not speak their mother tongue and are expected to learn Maori...This is not helping them care for people,they should be able to discuss stuff in their native tongue to clarify the English.
