Excellent video Nu! We get these questions all the time, so will be passing this on to relevant people.

Personally, I no longer go to clubs near my home because they are invaded by teenagers. I'm really happy that teens are training, but I'm 45 and they're not in my age group. I left the 3D range, because it is often very repetitive courses. Well at least the ones in my area. :-( I literally live at 300 meters from the forest and farmland, so that's my "range". Great weekend to everyone!

Our club has prices for ‚guest archers‘, so you can just shoot without joining, but of course you can’t show up whenever you want. Of course it’s way more expensive then joining if you come often.

Same with mine, this "guest shooting" is only profitable if you shoot once or twice a month
@goodyKoeln5 жыл бұрын
@Scraber That’s the same in our club. Price also depends on if you have your own bow. But if you want to come regularly it’s always better to join.

NUSensei, Just curious; In previous vids I noticed that the range you shoot at is a quite a large parcel of flat grassy area. Do the members mow it, or perhaps a dude with a tractor mower, or does the club have a deal with the local council? (Way back my club had a deal with local council)

I was wondering how to pick a club to join? The reason I ask is, I’ve always wanted to do archery, but all the clubs are atleast an hours drive. Due to changes at home, kids getting older and me getting more sleep as a result, I think I can manage the travel time however, but what are good questions to ask when picking a club? Thanks for all your great videos!

I don't know if it's the same type of club he was talking about, but a lot of cities have a city delegated club you can join. Usually you can find them near city parks as they have indoor and outdoor ranges.

I have a short question. I am putting together my own bow. There is a wide variety of riser length. some say a short 17 inch is better, the other a longer riser, say 25 inch. What do you think about that?
@NUSensei5 жыл бұрын
25" is standard for target shooting - longer bows are more stable and 25" for a 68" is normal for most average-height shooters. 17" risers are more typical of field and hunting applications.

Well the way you put it makes there isn't a single club in my country... All clubs in my country are basically what you would call ranges. Everyone can shoot, owned privately, you are legally part of the club meaning you are insured, as long as you have equipment you can come 24/7 even if the club is closed to shoot, you don't decide on really anything (you could advice but no one has to take your opinion in to action). But if you go on competition you do represent your club and it is recognized by others in the country.. So I don't really understand..

Been in 4 different clubs 3 of them too many snobs for me the one i liked was too far away to go regularly now shoot in my 27 meter back yard or local farmers feild 140meters 45 degree bank 50 foot tall all for free

Well. I quit going to an archery club(which I paid fees for) simply because any Tom, Dick and Harry could just get in and shoot for free...out of knowing the president or officials there.

What rest do you recommend for my new barebow?
@henryrex52075 жыл бұрын
I’m shooting in a club and not anything Olympic.
@dick-gs9tb5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion the rest and plunger are really worth investing in, for two main reasons: 1. they are the only parts of the bow that come into contact with the arrow after release, thus affecting arrow flight, and 2. compared to most other parts they are actually quite cheap - you can get a pro quality rest for £25, while a pro quality sight or set of stabilisers would run you £250 or more and likely have less impact on your performance.

Thank you for the answer.

The clubs in the UK are basically crap. In fact the whole ' industry ' the UK is poor. For a country of 65 million or so, there are maybe 5 or 6 decent shops Merlin being the best. There are to, my knowledge, no dedicated indoor facilities that gives one the opportunity to shoot beyond 20 meters. To sum it up Archery in the UK, by and large, sucks.
